  • At what FPS (Frames per Second) does the Zoom H4n Record? I've looked over the net and have not found a solid answer. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

  • @felixgotrek Audio is not measured in Frames Per Second. that's probably why you've not found an answer.

It's measured in Samples per Second. The two most common sample rates are 48,000 Samples per Second and 44,100 sps.

  • Finally, someone who knows what they're talking about! Thank you for posting these. Huge help.

  • Thank you so much for posting these. I do dslr video but Im a complete noob when it comes to sound. The zoom h4n tutorials are so helpful!

  • Dude, great tutorial...but how bout numbering them so we don't have to search for the correct order.

  • Great Tutorial, but the cam work makes me dizzy. Urrrp

  • I will check out your postings, fractalfires. I appreciate your help.

  • @fractalfires I would like to visit your H4N tutorial. Should I click on "fractalfires" or what is the website? Audacity? Thank you.

  • I've had the H4N for 6 months and find it makes extremely high quality recordings. I have had problems finding recordings I've made because of the file naming and numbering system the H4N uses. When I stop one recording in progress, then go from "hold" back to resume recording, where that new recording will be filed is anybody's guess. I have to hunt through dozens of recordings. I even purchased the $35 instruction DVD (very helpful) but it says little about the organization of files.

  • @TheJudplay Thank you for replying. Part of my problem is that the counter "zeros out" when I only want to go back to the beginning of a cut. So it's impossible to know where I am in the recording. Today I was looking for a "stop-start" recording session and found the later recording session had been filed in another file, same folder. I would very much like to see your tutorial on dumping files into Audacity. Is that a YouTube posting or a website? I appreciate your time.

  • I'm about to buy this, but i have question. I am a big brass player, and have only ever recorded on cameras/camcorders, which result in a terrible sound and a lot of clipping. Is the H4N good for this style (winds) of instrument recording?

  • you know what you are talking abaut!!!! and an awsome review!

  • great review :)
