  • no, I wouldn't buy it, I'd rather buy "The Hours"

  • Brilliant film !

  • @Maticallo I agree Judy Dench is so brilliant

  • Some have called this a lesbian "Fatal Attraction." I can see the parallel. Angela Lansbury was on "The View" and was asked what role she would have liked to play. Angela said Judy Dench's role. You could actually see her salivating at the prospect. Angela further elaborated and speculated they wanted a name. Implication they wanted a star and she was not it. Many do not realize that she turned the role of Nurse Ratchett in One Flew Over the Cukoo's Next and that Oscar went to Louise Fletcher.

  • @yourmoviesucks I'm salivating at the idea of Angela Lansbury playing the same role but with her own interpretation...that sounds amazing. I vaguely remember that View interview and I think the main point she was just trying to make was that Judi Dench's role was the type of role actresses her age would kill for aka a LEADING role rather than being a sweet old lady stuck in the corner with nothing to do. I would LOVE to see Lansbury land a leading role just one more time

  • she should have won an oscar for her performance!

  • Love movie great acting, think its also the way Judi Dench narrates the movie

  • judi dench is a queen!brilliant actress

  • I really want to see this!

  • I love this movie...

  • This movie is written so beautifully. One of my favorites.

  • Fabulous movie. Blanchett is wonderous. Dench is amazing. I DVR'd it 8 months ago and have watched it 12 times lol!!!

  • Sheba's mistake was telling someone about her affair with a student.

  • her mistake was having sex at the school

  • Yes that was dumb.

  • yeh be very afraid of dirty old menopausal virgins...

  • ...I get goosebumps listening to Dame Judi's voiceover in this video. She's just amazing.

  • :34 "She's Hannibal Lecter in drip-dry underwear" ???

  • lucky bastard..imagine a go of her ::P

  • this is why we should be afraid of old lady's with notebooks!!!

  • lol

  • i am obsessed with this movie

  • The boy is 15!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • weren't Romeo and Juliet 15? If it were an older man in his 20's/30's with a younger girl that would be acceptable right?

  • I don't think anyone would find that acceptable either. I know I wouldn't. Romeo and Juliet were about the same age too, so the analogy does not work.

  • romeo was way odler than juliet

  • No, only a few years. Initially, she was supposed to marry a man much older and was repulsed by the idea, as is only sensible.

  • o i thought she was 12 and he was 21

  • Not in the play by Shakespeare. Perhaps in older versions of the story. If that was the original age gap, that's really gross!

  • In the movie he is but in reality he's 19. Still very young, but he's older then me.

  • this is one of my favorite films. scandalously beautiful. a few know it and im fine with that. lol

  • Yes very good movie , Judy is wonderful. Even liked the 'the pig in knickers'. The acting is always fab in brit movies

  • @Baray911 I agree wonderful acting and Judy Dench was so brilliant
