Never had a chance to play the game, but I have seen this intro SO many times it isn't funny. It is actually pretty sweet art-wise. Sega should of stuck with this type of sonic over the "edgier" P.O.S. they have now. Robotnik too.

This song is a classic ans still kindof catchy despite it's age. The old sonic cartoons kicked so much more ass than the current day sonic toons. Sega needs to pull their heads out of their asses & stop catering to just kids if they want to see success again.

Why can't sega make games just like this opening, whith just a huge world and free roaming. Sure it would be hard to incoperate story and limit the player to certain areas, but still... It could be cool if it were a Metroidvania where you go around and get certain skills as you go along...

Sonic CD is the worst (retro) sonic game ever. The level design is very poor, music doesn't suit the game (except the intro track), colour schemes are jarring, bosses can be finished in 10 seconds literally and they changed the jump sound effect. The only good part was the special stages. Sonic 2 is probably the best sonic game.

The backgrounds were a bit too eleborate and some of the songs were poor as sampled digital audio instead of arrays of notes, but I think the programmers were delirious having 700MB to work with instead of the usual 8 or 16 of the megadrive cartridges.

Dude sod that just go out and get the gamecube version of Sonic Gems, its got Sonic CD on it and its loaded with other nutritous Sonicy goodness, make sure you get the Sonic Mega Collection as well, then basically you'll have every GOOD Sonic game ever made.
