I really do not like the term "rationalist" being thrown around here. It almost comes off as being voided of any real meaning, pretty much a term used to validate one's ideas when evidence it lacking. I mean, when someone throws out "edge of the universe", I have a sudden urge to slam my head on my desk.

I think his mindset is fitting and probably helpful in the comic book field but yeah... he focuses more on the less basic than answering the more basic which is why he throws out these ideas.

Of course, science itself is an idea...and is created by man using the arbitrary and limited faculties of his senses. And if we are in a hologram, knowing how the hologram works is limiting us. Which is why it may seem irrational to some to think the world of ideas is the only real world, but when you realize that everything we created would not exist without the idea, then that is the definition of being rational, since that is the only real, solid, reality.
