You can tell he is not a defensive midfielder by definition, though.
He is always leading with his right foot. This is fine if he are running back towards your goal on your right side (if he plays right midfield), on the left flank he has to use the outside of his right foot, which isn't the best technique!
I hope he stays fit, and if it means being less aggressive in his tackling from now, so be it!
@selfatrophy of course he's not a defensive midfielder. he is a central midfielder. and to me, his outside of the foot is better than any player using his weaker foot. so I wouldn't worry about putting him on the right or left of the midfield ;) surly Arsene Agrees with me :P he is not that aggressive in his tackling to begin with, he just knows how to win a c lean tackle, which is a brilliant ability ;)
Absolutely love the video lad.. I honestly never knew that Rosicky was this good @ slide tackling. Not a whole lot of people give credit to the defense side of Football but I'm a defender myself. I'm going to watch this video before my games! Cheers mate
@DanM2989 I agree, I personally rate players by their efforts and their success rate in doing their jobs to help their team win. people forget sometimes that defending is also a part of the midfielder's job. Thats what made me like Rosicky this much. he wants the team to win and doesn't get carried away with personal glory and wanting to score to forget getting back and helping the defense out. he also covers for full backs. hahaha a dose of a Rosicky video before each match is recommended ;)
in addition this is the perfect example how to make sliding tackle not like other dumbass oaf who are rdy to make a tackle regardless they can cause injury or get themselves early bath... TR perfect technique

Great Vid, my respect for rosicky has rose. I previosuly beleived he was simlar to lampard just a great attacking mid, now i relised hes a fatastic rounded midfielder.
I've hoped before and still do that Rosicky can get fit and stay fit for season to comes, he a match winner type player and we need them regularly to spark the epl. :D

This was one of my favourite games in the 07/08 season because it was such a battling performance, we scored 2 goals from old-fashioned crosses into the box and it was like we'd discovered the perfect winning formula.

Rosicky goes to ground every time he gets a chance. Even if there isn't an opposition player in a ten metres radius around him. One time when he came in a a substitute he made four or five less of more usefull tackles withing the first five minutes. A real entertainer!

FINALLY there is a video on the internets about the worlds most underrated tackler!! FINALLY!
Rosicky goes to ground every time he gets a chance. Even if there isn't an opposition player in a ten metres radius around him. One time when he came in a a substitute he made four or five less of more usefull tackles withing the first five minutes. A real entertainer!

freaking awesome video, collecting so much of him just ONLY in tackles! He is such a sensible tackler and as I ve seen so far he manage to slide so clean get the ball for his teammates or by himself forward and set up for a new action... such a incredible czech guy... u know Id like to see another 10minutes video of his attacking aproach, his moves on the pitch are amazing.. classic Rosa´s turnarounds thats definetely worthseeing..shame hes already turned 30 n had almost 2years lack of football

I agree, but then we had him, Arshavin, Nasri, Theo and Eboue fighting for the wing. If any of them could play in the middle of the park its him. He was emazing last night against Porto for 65 mins tillhe got tired. It shows your point, he's not yet fit enaugh
