Worked great! I was a little apprehensive to try it at first because I was afraid of completely killing my Xbox, but as long as you follow along it's really no problem. I cleaned the lense, and moved the laser into place, and now it works perfectly :D

@XxFrostKidxX Did you even watch the video or pay attention?? He tells u everything u need to know. You need a small and or very small Phillips head for screw removal/adjustments and flat head to assist in taking it apart. No bits required,lol take apart.

Excellent video, I followed everything and Xbox worked first time. Only problem I had was the screws...they were not Philips or flat so I bought a small flat screwdriver and filed it down to make it fit the screw heads. Its also very easy to remove the fan cover and unplug the fans so you can clean them. I'm sure there is months of dust in there...:) Thanks for you contribution to the gaming community..:)

By turning the DVD pot, what you are doing is decreasing the resistance to get more power to the laser which in turn makes it brighter and reads better. Search "xbox 360 pot tweaking" and you should find a couple real good vids. Unless you rather replace your laser cuz you blew your diode. radicalmods has an excellent tut

Can you replace xbox lasers with a laser from a new model? i have a arcade xbox but the laser broke on some ribbon cables so i took a good laser from a elite model and it when it has a disc in, it responds like it has no disc in it, like spins for 1 seconds then stops.

i nearly sent my xbox off to be repaired which would of cost me nearly £100, i took a look a your video and thought its worth given it a go, it looks easy to do but took a while taken it apart and was worried it would break it as its tough to get in to! i watched some other videos and found yours the best as you point out the three main steps to do to fix the problem and to my delight it really works!!! not bad for a 34 woman who has never done anything like that! so a VERY BIG THANK YOU!!!!!
