Lost: who is in the coffin (wrong) and biblical references

I caught Lost late and am catching up I just saw the episode where jack goes to see the coffin. My prediction that it is Locke and that he is using a false name like Jeremy Bentham and is in charge of the Island but got assasinated by Penny's Fathers men and then Ben will need Jack and the rest of the 6 back.

first hurley CANNOT be in the coffin, first the coffin is too small, and then his parents would have come to the funeral. Also the person in the coffin is probably ben or locke, or maybe micheal

in the first episode ben had his flashbacks his dad was a janitor on the island. didnt his dad have his name tag on the uniform he was wearing? if so what was the name?

well i guess i need to elaborate a little further on what i meant exactly. all i'm saying is that ben's father in the bible is jacob and his mother died in child birth. yes, in the show, we saw ben's biological father, but my theory implies more that jacob is more of a father in the sense that he is the person that guides ben and "raises" him for what he is to do kind of thing. later in the bible, ben rules domains of the land of canaan and protects them. check out my other videomay help you out

I reckon it must be Locke since it is the death of the person that makes Jack want to return to the island and Jack always fought against Locke's faith in the island. I think Locke and Ben are brothers, and possibly that Locke IS Jacob.

I like your theories, but the coffin appears too small to be Hurley. It's definitely a man because it says so in the newspaper clipping Jack's holding. My guess is Michael, Ben or Locke. The viewing is in L.A. where Michael and Locke lived. The newspaper clippings say the name starts w/ a 'J', had no family and he was from N.Y.. Michael and Ben know the coordinates to the island. This forces Jack to consider jumping off the bridge, because he wanted to return to the island, as he stated to Kate.

I believe it's Claire in the coffin...think about it...it's quite clear... 1. Kate has Aaron... 2. Jack WOULD be the only one to go to her funeral...Sayid is off killing people for Ben, Hurley is in the loonybin, Kate is on trial and Sun is having her baby... 3. Both her parents are dead, no siblings other than...Jack... This also answers the true Oceanic 6 people...Jack, Kate, Sayid, Hurley, Sun and...Claire...not Aaron...

This theory makes sense, could very well be Hurly, could also be Michael, as we saw him trying to kill himself on the last episode given, could also be Sayid because he was working with Ben and might've meant he betrayed his friends etc, other than that I don't think it could be anyone else...

i think u raise interesting points suggesting that its hurley, however u dont explain why would Jack have expected Kate to go to the funeral? This is what makes me believe it is sawyer, however there is 3 more seasons to go and in between then and now they could reveal that Ben is actually Kates father and he is the one in the coffin. You can make your theories but the great thing with lost is they choose some predictable stories and then some totally random ones which makes it impossable toget

I like the two brothers idea. Jacob and Esau were brother in the Bible. Jacob found a way for Esau to give up his birth rite.
