The Ice 9 is an instant classic overdrive pedal. A total slap in the face to boutique pedal poseur snobs. Sadly, this video hardly does this wonderful pedal justice. Some better micing would be great.

@Aryan2209 with an overdrive pedal you sound similar to an amp with saturated valves,it's like a warm distortion. with a distortion pedal, you just get the typical distortion sound

Not sure why OD has become lesser gain dist box but the intent is to push the amp into clipping not just dist out. I think there is much more this box can do and was designed to do. Is this a rented music store?? Dig the Carvin, best unknown secret in the axe realm, shhhhhhhh. I have three have had as many as four, I will not spend the money on anything else. I have an ebony neck strat and another w 24 fret maple board neck through the body and dual rail single coils, just kills.

The ICE 9 is a good OD, Joe out it through the paces on his Facebook page but I cannot seem to find the vid recently. Has a lot more balls and deeper drive than most demos show on YT. OD gets compared to Dist boxes when that was never the intend of the OD, they were created for tubes to push them into clipping not just a low level gain. All the Vox boxes are extremely good and should adjust and fit into whatever rig you have.

@PapaKenny777 there is a bit of effect on the amp - not on the pedal. The JMD:1 has built in fx - but as you noted - it's very light. And, to be clear - this was all onboard - no trickery in the final mix down.

I approve of these tonez. Has quite a lot of distortion for being an overdrive pedal. And it does wonders pushing that Marshall. Have you tried using it in front of your JCM800 or no? I bet that would wound badass. =P
