This bird uses other bird songs and even unnatural sounds to attract females. Females that do not respond to his song, as he has no song of his own. So, the female is attracted to even the sound of a chainsaw, camera, etc.. and his dance and plumage. I find this even more amazing. This species survives by mimicking sounds to attract females. So if some say it's sad that this bird mimics man made sounds, consider that a female Lyre bird, may actually be more attracted to his elaborate mimicry.
