  • whenever you park leave the wheels straight:D

  • @MrSTELIOS123456 unless you are on a hill

  • This is stupid, I put that you're supposed to turn your wheels into the curb instead of into the street but I got the question wrong and failed my test.

  • @Gregd8888 I haven't even finished reading my handbook but doesn't it depend if your parking uphill/downhill?

  • do you have to turn your blinker on before you pull off to park?

  • i remember it by mighty mouse... up, up, and away!!

  • I remember mines by "Down Into" and "Up and Away!"

  • Downhill, towards the curb

    Uphill, away from the curb

    Thanks for the video

  • @AndroxineVortex Good job.

  • Thnx 4 video

  • HELP I NEED SOMEBODY!!

how do yu park nxt to curb when do yu put on brake idk on my test i messed up and didnt pass !!! :(

  • I LIKE YOUR BEARD.(MANLYVOICE) - Ke$ha HAHAAHAA.

  • this is how i remembered it

if curb and up hill:up up and away, wheel away from curb

    anything else is into curb

  • i have a question. when you are turning your wheels (lets say we are parking uphill) do you crank the wheel until you can no longer turn it (and then put it in park, pull the e-brake, etc) or do you only turn the wheel one full rotation, and that is enough?

  • @TwentyFourRoses haha i was just about to ask that

  • @Heather146 put it into neutral so it rolls a bit, crank the wheels, THEN put it in park :)

  • THANK YOU

  • I figured out a way to remember this because the uphill one always got me confused. Ok, so Downhill you turn the wheels toward the curb so think "down, in" and uphill parking is where you turn the wheels away from the curb, so "up, out" So what i do before parking on hills is say it, "down, in....up, out" I refer the saying to a hole. If you're down it...you're in it! And if you're above it....you are out of it! K bye

  • @wttbsh08 Anyways the E-brake has a cable to the rear of the car and has nothing to do with the transmission. =)

  • found so many things wrong with this hill park... the two biggest are the dry steering, and putting the E-brake in when the car is in park. you always put the E-brake on when the car is in neutral and you are pushing in on the foot brake, then once the E-brake is on put the car in park. this not only keeps the car from jerking but it will save your pawl pin

  • i went through so many of his videos and honestly i can say one thing just go to a driving school learn it then make an experienced driver sit with you and practice rather than watching this.

    experienced driver :)

  • I thought that dry steering was not good for any car.

  • you need to remember to shave your beard!

  • every clip of these drivings clips have atleast 100 comments on this guys beard

  • And maybe I helped the car & not the driver? There is a place in my heart for civics and it wasn't JDM or obviously modified...it appeared to be a stock bluegreen american civic. I prevented damage to it & the domino effect of vehicles behind it. I knew no 1 but felt I did the right thing.

  • THANK YOU. So many people don't do this. I once rescued a civic for this very reason. Riding by on a bike, saw the car rolling backward, off, no 1 in it, got of bike, put kickstand, looked, it was a meter from a van, then I caught it. While holding it, I waved @ drivers to help me find the owner, 1 finally stopped, a neighbor said who's it was, they weren't home, so we put bricks behind the wheels & left it. Please don't criticise me, I felt my actions were correct.

  • @nintendoatarikiller not really just put it in first (facing up) or reverse (facing down) and use the handbrake. Same really. Oh yea and the wheel thing too.

  • @xaaa19x my cousin did that, and he failed ;) check your stats

  • this is so wrong lol XD, gotta get the car into neutral, turn the wheels as the car moves into the curve, let the wheel hit the curve then apply the e brake and after that put it in parking :p, this is really easy on a manual trans ^^

  • yeah i dont think the emergency break would fail in a brand new looking, 30,000 euro golf gti

  • does it matter how much you turn your wheels?

  • Omg so wrong! Lol you're supposed to pull the car up to the curve, put it in neutral, let it slide down and then turn your wheels towards the curb when it's turning. This prevents you from dry steering and ruinning your tires! Then apply the e-brake, take your foot off the break, make sure the e-brake's working, then put the park break on. "expert" village? I think not.

  • turn the wheels toward the curb downhill. Turn the wheels away from the curb uphill.

Put your brake on first, THEN put it in park. This results in the vehicle resting on the brakes first rather than the transmission. Check out your owner's manual (you know - that thing in your glove compartment?) - it says to do it that way!!

  • let me get this straight: you turn your signal on when pulling to side of the road. You put the car in park, then put the wheels away from the curb (for uphill)

  • lol if the emergency brake would fail hahaha that never happens

  • @geppegep Ha, mine did a couple months ago.

  • ø„¸¸„ø¤º°¨¸„ø¤º°¨

  • thanks you sir

  • we do the same thing in Ecuador, we use a rock, you all american guys! hahahaha

  • Up, up and away otherwise towards.

  • TYVM!!!!!!!!!

  • how to park i tell you the rite way....just park it lol

  • your ont supposed to put the e brake on and turn your wheel dumbdumb, thats dry steering

  • very helpful

  • hay im in drivers ed right now an i got my final test on friday, an my teacher told me i need to remmeber how to get out of a downhill park an uphill what are the steps for that? b.c i remeber when getting out of a downhill park u gota like reverse but i dont realy remember the steps in order... can someone help me?

  • What about when there's no curb? These are the four questions that confuse me the most.

  • @Aristes UPhill turn left , Down hill turn right . No hill turn right

  • @Aristes

when theres none, you turnthe wheels, towards where the curb would be .

  • Whom ever thinks this guy is great, you are a fucking retard. he can't even get the parallel to the curb when pulling up. he has no idea about dry-steering poor car

  • @jdelarge1 Dry steering isn't going to do a damn thing if you do it once or twice a month, which is how often someone might actually use a hill park. (unless they live on a hill)

  • one way i remember for up hill(sounds cheesy): "up,up, and away!"

  • same im takeing my driveing test tuesday and thats how i remember it

  • Worst parking EVER?

The back of the car is completely away from the curb... (as is the ffront tbh)..

and why would you cold turn your tyres? so bad.

  • @UKNewMusic

lol knit picking is not as bad as trolling but still annoying.

  • @vilane421 and just pulling up the handbrake making it click :P

    (kidding lol)

  • @ Luke 1337,

I guess you're right about Park not technically being a gear. But with a heavy car on a steep hill, if the weight of the car is bearing against the transmission while it is in Park it can be very hard to get it out of Park. Which is why it's good to set the parking brake first, then put the car into Park and then release the main brake.

  • @bookman413, putting the car into park won't harm the transmission because P is not a gear. also, acceleration forces are alot higher than weight forces of the car so you shouldnt be concerned with breaking the transmission at all

  • this guy is great....he explains everything so well.

    thanks guy

  • hahha chandyman. SOOO TRUE.

  • 00:10

    Is this Scoda Octavia??

  • Mazda

  • Thanks :P

  • And if you're really concerned the car may start rolling, you can already park your wheel against the curb. That way, you really need lots of motion to have your car roll over that curb. If you just turn the wheel, but leave a lot of distance, the car may theoretically still mount the curb. Just park as close te curb as you can ... but not that close so you cannot trun the wheel anymore ;)

  • Sweet R32 i drive a VW golf 4 R32

  • QUE JOTO!

    eso ya lo sabemos todos

  • Lmao. Nothing wrong with beards, or light beards. I look good with one. :P

  • i'm only worried that i might fail on parking up hill and down hill because i might hit the curb with a fat suv :(. but good information that i already KNEW

  • If you were parking uphill, wouldn't you still put your wheels to the right so that the car would roll into the curb? That makes more sense to me than steering to the left...

  • Then the car's front would roll into the street. If you turn the wheels towards the street, then hopefully the back of the front wheels will hit the curb before the back turns into the street.

  • Here in the philippines, we just put a small rock just behind one of the rear wheels...=p Talk about common sense... (Where there are hills, there are rocks!)=p

  • Huh, that's a good idea! We're probably just being lazy. xD

  • @chandyman21 korekk ka jan.. hahahha it's funny. where there hills, there are rocks LOL

  • @chandyman21

yeah man... rocks or some chopped trees would work...

  • dont pull it up all the way

  • Like I'm not strong enough to put down the E brake. So what should I do? Like I have to have my dad out it down cuz I'm not strong enough.

  • hahaha

  • He should do it of course, that shouldnt fail you

  • Actually on a steep hill (facing uphill), if you not only turn the wheels toward the street, but also then let the car gently roll back so the front wheels are (gently) chocked against the curb, that's even better because the car won't be able to gain any momentum if your ebrake fails and the car slips out of gear.

  • if you put you engage your parking gear first and then your e-brake... YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO GET IT OUT OF PARK WITHOUT CAUSING DAMAGE!

  • Really? I didn't know that... (u_u) I'm always confused about the order...

  • this i s good ONLY if u r parking down hill not up hill

  • He explains that fool

  • Yeah i have a bad habit of pausing when i think a vid is wrong then submit a comment correcting it. Only to realize they corrected/ explained the mistake by the end.

  • How about watching the hole thing u fucking moron.

  • lol

  • am sorry buddy you did a mistake i live in san francisco for 3 years you have to pull the e-brake then shift to the P or your gonna break the transmission

  • @7aMoODaiZER Thats not true , it wont effect yoru transmission . You can put it into park then apply the hand brake . or you can apply hand brake and put it into park does not make a differnce

  • IF THERE IS NO CURB... the situation would be a little different. In this case, you would ALWAYS turn your wheels toward the right.. =)

  • push the button before you pull the handbrake or else you ruine it

  • Comment removed

  • this is going downhill aha

  • thank you

  • thats not ture you will fuck up your car by doing that

  • thank you!!!

  • that aint a hill, u shold see the hill i have to park on, it is fuckin steep

  • so downhill toward curb and uphill toward street. cool

  • Haha I noticed that too :P

Of course in uphill you shall do the same as in downhill, although I prefere neither becouse of the damages to the tires.

  • nice beard man

  • Cool Thanks!
