Tasering a guy with bad guts is liable to exacerbate such a situation. I don't know what else to add.. I don't think much of any police officers I know, but that doesn't mean that these guys were "out of control" while trying to deal with an incident for which they probably had no pre-established protocol.
If you have to take an hour-long poop, try to be home at the time. Or go to the local police station and ask to use their can, maybe.

Usually if you stay in the bathroom too long in any store, it can be a sign of theft. Trust me, I see everyday were people would sneak merchandise into the bathroom to steal. Plus, they thought he could be injured, since they got no response out of him. A lot of cases there has been people actually dead in bathrooms as well and no one checks. It made perfect sense to call the cops after an hour. However, using brutal force like that is uncalled for. You don't need to tasser anyone or use force.

Yeah they keep that taser going for no longer then 2 or 3 seconds if that long. Police typically employ a taser for 10-15 seconds or longer if they feel like it. Also the person shooting them is shooting at them when they are standing still and they have however long they want to target. Police shot fast, look up the girl who got a prong in her brain she didnt laugh.

Usually if you stay in the bathroom too long in any store, it can be a sign of theft. Trust me, I see everyday were people would sneak merchandise into the bathroom to steal. Plus, they thought he could be injured, since they got no response out of him. A lot of cases there has been people actually dead in bathrooms as well and no one checks. It made perfect sense to call the cops after an hour. However, using brutal force like that is uncalled for. You don't need to tasser anyone or use force.

If someone was in our bathroom that long and not responding, I would think something was wrong and call 9-11. Now, I would not want the police to tasser or use pepper spray. I think that is extreme, but I would like to see if the person is okay.

Thing to keep in mind is that every time a police officer arrives on the scene to deal with a situation, there's a very real possibility that they won't be going home to their families. This is the reality they have to deal with every day on the job.
At the same time, I can't help but think there's more to this story that we weren't told about in this rather sensationalist report. Seriously, a reporter stand-up with a tire iron and umbrella as props. Just stick with reporting the facts.

Was this guy all alone in the store (meaning was he with a friend or family)? If he was all alone wouldn't a staff have noticed him as different before he went in, say with a disability, including mental? Could the police deduce relatively quickly there was something wrong with the guy? Not sure but, it seems that a lot of people are becoming very unaware of their surroundings and who is with them in their environment. Perhaps, the police need to learne to engage brain before brawn?
