@whangarurujazz - just in terms of your question.. I'm not sure if anyone or any group has won twice in a row.. No group I know has won once, and won the next year aswell. If that were the case, then every group that has won would be 'has beens'.. because they didnt win the next year. Does that answer your question? Just be careful though, because there are groups that have won more than once, however not consecutively. I like to call those groups.. 'Top Groups'

this roopu is one of the best out there, they know how to portray the feelings behind the kupu. They all are singing and performing from the heart, and when you watch them you know they put alot of time and effort into thier bracket.

For those that didnt know, this is Te Piringa's forth time in the competition. They performed in Auckland in 2000, Chch in 2002, they didnt make 2004 Wellington but they made Waikato 2006. And this is their 4th time in the Comp.
