Whoever it was who criticized the bass player is deaf as a post. Okay, he threw in a few fantastically complicated notes & runs that weren't on the record but every single one of them was genius.
as a member of P-Funk who has shared the stage with EWF, let me just say that verdine has paid over 40 years in the biz & has been playing bass on every single EWF album since its inception...HE CAN DO WHATEVER THE F*** HE WANTS !! he has nothing to prove...besides doing 200-300 dates a year, he still manages to do Bass clinics & workshops WITHOUT THE BAND so again, LET THIS BASS LEGEND DO WHAT THE F*** HE WANTS AT 60 YEARS OLD !
Please dont knock Verdine ,without him earth wind and fire would be no more.ok he dosent sing but he brings great happiness just to wach him on stage.
@jason77710 I can't agree with you on that Verdine White is the energy of the band, that dude plays very well with the ballards, but his solo are not that great to me. He is a great song writer as well if you are not a EWF fan check out "In stone" "Serpentine Fire" "Happy Feeling" he really gets it on them tracks check it out.
I saw EWF a couple months ago, and they did about 2 and 1/2 hours. In addition, they switch it up a lot, putting different songs in and out. Newer stuff, and rotating in lot's of the old hits. It's impossible to tell you all the songs they did. But they played In The Stone, my favorite EWF song, so I was happy.
