  • i remember when we used to call sketchy landing a "frankie hill"

  • That backside double flip over the pyramid was gnarly and surprisingly smooth.

  • In his Slap Interview Frankie said this part was filmed after he injured his knee- He filmed this whole part skating with a torn ACL & MCL that's pretty gnarly.

  • WOW he was goood!

  • he rips. the board slide up the rail to hard flip out was epic

  • FRANKIE HILL IS A MONSTER!!!

  • Frankie definately graduated from Notre Dame with a degree in HunchBackery!

  • @boogie504 if you saw me skating you would never say that about frankie hes tall and has a great style no hunchback

  • rip powell skate zone

  • Crazy. I remember seeing him for the first time and I had never seen anyone do gaps the size he did. Sure, he may be a little stiff in this vid, but a serious knee injury effects everything. I have two slightly torn acl's and I have to work hard at keeping them strong and relaxing so that i'm not overly stiff. I don't always succeed. The fact that he skated as well as he did in this vid, back then, when technology wasn't as far along in treatment as it is now, is nothing short of amazing.

  • Since he filmed this after his catastrophic knee injury, it's amazing that he even had this much amazing footage to put a full part together. Street pioneer and legend. Still an inspiration and will be as long as skateboarders can recognize the heart motivating the board. I'm proud to say Frankie Hill is my hero.

  • He does some insanely hard stuff here but this vid was a real bummer. He is so robotic and sketchy compared to how he used to be. In the old Powell vids, he could come close to falling off his board but make it look really smooth. This just looks like Tony Hawk - tall and lanky.

But damn... my man can ollie (3:18).

  • Frankie!!!! So sick.

  • killer tricks! O.O

  • ive always wondered, what was the benefit or riding 35 or 38mm wheels? Is it easier to do tech flip tricks? Maybe the board doesnt have to be popped as high up???

  • tech tricks are easier with them because it causes you to hit your tail earlier.

  • what do you mean hit your tail earlier? you mean get your foot back on the tail earlier?

  • @gnardog1 i hit your moms tail earlier

  • @wasr10a you could also ask what the benefit of wearing size 50 pants was. It was style, and it was what it was.

  • I could do 360 flip before frankie but i M MORE SKETCHY

  • @jay300775 you want a present?

  • 2.55 - oh guys think i should just try a 360 kickflip double flip, hahah this guy was fucking sick man! i love the skateboarding history

  • wow, never knew frankie went through a new deal phase like that. crazy shit

  • @talktal Me neither, I never heard from him again after the late 80s powell videos. But then during this era I didnt pay much attention to Powell anymore.

  • Deffenetly the best street skater then, no doubt! Will never forget how he skated and made us going wild!

  • my opinion only the best street skater then. could still pull his own now easy. double 360 flip on a good set with the 10 inch board i have on my wall. some get some new footage on here soon,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

  • 360 flip double flip down a decent size set thats nuts for standards now adays even!!

  • great Frankie footage, must have been close to his injury

  • Wow, Frankie got pretty tech towards the end of his career and he wasn't sketchy in that footage.

  • sorry that sounded stupid. ill rephrase that!one of the gnarliest streetskaters ever to live yet! there are quite a few!

  • i mean including me that is!lol!

  • most probably the gnarliest streetskater ever to live yet!excluding me that is!lol!jon king and christian pierce rip!

  • Sctechy ? trying to land a trick with the boards and wheels we had at that time... was near impossible. I rember i didn't like this time of big changing in skateboard. board were always broken on a 3 steps ollie.

  • cool part, but I kinda miss the big stuff from his earlier video parts.

  • I might Have some...I'm not sure the size...all I know is that they are Union wheels.

  • stlye wise**

  • im soooo happy skating today isnt like that

  • @okokoklol Yeah, today's skinny jean frog legs look real stylish.

  • Yeah sketchy. But for 1992. Shyeeettt!

  • I demand you upload this video! I want to see Wade Speyer and Brandon Novak in action.

  • boy....49 mm wheels...I remember those days

  • haha,

    i ride 49mm wheels right now ;)

  • nice backside flip over the pyramid.. double varial flip, pressure flips, 360 doubleflip..very normal stuff for '92. Some of his landings are so sketchy I wonder why they didn't re-film

  • cuz they didn't worry bout clean landings back then

  • i skated with frankie back in 93 or 94.. he was my idol, but ive always said... he got the sloppiest landings ever!!... this video brings awesome memories!! thanks for posting!

  • He was out of the game in 92 with his knee injury, it couldnt have been 93 or 94

  • oldschool

    nice

  • not so stylish

  • please......somebody have the first part of ban this????

  • hows this?

  • ok, that didn't work. just look under my videos.

  • I'm digging it. Cool stuff from '92.
