I had a 1025 and with the exception of the power hog Vista OS I loved it! It got wine spilled on it and after having it for the last two and half years I am reminded what a good deal on it by the less powerful computers they have on sale for the same price. I had the keyboard issue once but after the fix it never happened again. Every once in a while it booted a black screen but I just redo it and it's fine (there is a fix for that too). A must for graphic designers and avid Photoshoppers.

@toooffu Simple this computer has hotkeys for you to use when your in Tablet mode you simply press the button on the side that looks like a cog a bunch of options will come up asking i you want to change volume, brightnes, screen rotation, and connection.

You can't use volume buttons in tablet mode on this machine, end of story. Is there a way around this - yes, but not exactly the point of comment you replied to.

You can access volume in many ways but if someone puts a button I want it to be usable all the time (just a personal preference). Awosome tablets. Like the pressure sensitive Wacom Digitizer, Just bought a refurbished tx2000 with modified heatsink. Run much cooler and consume less battery. Price at 55% off original retail. I think they still has a few Tx2000, tx2500 and TX2. If you want one, let me know.
it is not as great as expected. It has no DVD driver, and you have to buy RJ-47 to connect to ethernet coz its plug does not fit regular cable. That sucks. I'm about to return it now

to make it boot faster u got to start control panel system and security administrative tools then click system configuration go to boot advanced options then click the empty box that says numbers of processors next to it switch it to 2 click apply then ok...and restart ya computer again and u'lll see it bootster lil bit faster than usual
@morgan0666 TX is an early model that had only single touch screen and a wacom pen. TX2 is the newer generation with high specs and has multi touch but has a n-trig pen. TX2z is a TX2 but its customizable meaning you can choose out the specs you want. 1080 1270 or 1275 those are model numbers that are different based on country and series the 1000 and 1200 series are tx2z are sold with windows vista 1300 series is sold with windows 7.

@StormBringer44 It depends on what mode you are in if your in high performance mode and at full screen brightness it won't last longer then a hour. The battery life depends on the brightness mode and what you have in the computer being active. In power saver mode it lasted for up 1-2 hours. In hp recommend mode it lasted for up to 1-1 1/2 hours high performance lasted for only 40 minutes. You want an extra hour of battery life buy an 8 cell battery for it.
@Daxter609 I see. But you forgot to mention whether you have the 4-cell or 6-cell battery. I actually meant the maximum. But wow, it's bad to know that if I take it to school, it will not last me 2 classes - I guess this is the downfall for having a powerful AMD processor! :)
What I wrote is for the 6 cell batteries their are no 4 cell batteries for the tx2 only 6 and 8 cell batteries. Well if you want longer lasting battery but lower performance get the tm2. It has an intel core 2 duo but the downside is that its 1.6 or 1.3ghz . Intel just added some hyperthreading like stuff in it to make it look like its fast its only fast in software but games and other cpu instense things that can't do anything with virtual core/performance it can't use it.

@grotzy91 I got my TX2 for Christmas and yes everyone ask me is it an ipad. No one in my school has ever heard of Tablet PCs only me and my school assistant principal own Tablet PCs. These computers are awesome but everyday I fear that the poor kids that live in the neighbor were my school is might jump me one day for it. @cbrcmovies Yeah to bad we can't upgrade them to the graphics cards the TM2 uses. I can play combat arms on my TX2 and I can play on max graphics with bloom and still get over 20 fps.
@cbrcmovies Only problem is with newer games you may need to play on low settings and resolution. I already figured out a combo of playing crysis with a mixture of high, medium, and low settings.
i got this a couple of months ago and i think it's pretty amazing..... it has some cool accessories, too... it has a small remote control, an extra battery that is semi inclined and some other stuff.....
all in all it's an 8.5/10 laptop... the only thing is... it's wifi is not really good and also the battery power it only lasts for an hour or so when you switch it on high performance....

It's very true, I'm no longer confident with this type of model. For starters the built in WIFI that comes with this type computer is not very good. When I called it in, none of them have realized how much of a burden it has been to myself & family members I have recommended HP products to. I work with a lot of computers but HP's Wifi has been the most disturbing.
To top that, I currently have the tx2000 model & it continuously overheats & turns itself off. Will HP help me? I'm sure NOT.

No, you can't. It feels much like a Cintiq but it's a laptop, you can´t use it like a normal tablet. Although you can probably use it to control your desktop via VNC or Radmin, theoreticaly it should work but I never tryed. If it does work Tell me :)
Yes but it is not built for gaming. It can do gaming pretty well it depends on the game for some games it it can do high setting s for games like Crysis it can do about medium settings.

I used to have this until I traded it in for a Sony Vaio. Here's why:
- Defective hinge. (It's only got one and boy is it flimsy, expected to fall apart at some point.)
- Overall poor build quality. I returned about 5 before I got fed up.
- Slow Processor.
- Pretty crappy video card.
- Reading the screen is really annoying and strains your eyes.
- THIS THING GET'S REALLY FUCKING HOT, I'm serious, 75 degree celsius in your lap while it doing nothing at all. On load it's almost 100.

Nope they only want one just because the fact its touchscreen they don't care about all the other things you can do with it. Now everyone is asking if they can use my computer even though we have macbooks. My computer is the only one that can get acess to twitter so now they make up crap just to use it.

@StormBringer44 It depends on what mode you are in if your in high performance mode and at full screen brightness it won't last longer then a hour. The battery life depends on the brightness mode and what you have in the computer being active. In power saver mode it lasted for up 1-2 hours. In hp recommend mode it lasted for up to 1-1 1/2 hours high performance lasted for only 40 minutes. You want an extra hour of battery life buy an 8 cell battery for it.

@Daxter609 I see. But you forgot to mention whether you have the 4-cell or 6-cell battery. I actually meant the maximum. But wow, it's bad to know that if I take it to school, it will not last me 2 classes - I guess this is the downfall for having a powerful AMD processor! :)

What I wrote is for the 6 cell batteries their are no 4 cell batteries for the tx2 only 6 and 8 cell batteries. Well if you want longer lasting battery but lower performance get the tm2. It has an intel core 2 duo but the downside is that its 1.6 or 1.3ghz . Intel just added some hyperthreading like stuff in it to make it look like its fast its only fast in software but games and other cpu instense things that can't do anything with virtual core/performance it can't use it.

@grotzy91 I got my TX2 for Christmas and yes everyone ask me is it an ipad. No one in my school has ever heard of Tablet PCs only me and my school assistant principal own Tablet PCs. These computers are awesome but everyday I fear that the poor kids that live in the neighbor were my school is might jump me one day for it. What I love best about my computer is that it makes all my classmates Laptops, ipod touchs, and iphones look dull when compared to my computer.

@cbrcmovies Yeah to bad we can't upgrade them to the graphics cards the TM2 uses. I can play combat arms on my TX2 and I can play on max graphics with bloom and still get over 20 fps.

@Daxter609 yeah. But when i was playing TF2 on maxed out settings i was able to get 30-50 fps on the normal 4:3 settings.
if you switch from widescreen to normal you get MUCH smoother gameplay and goes as fast as your connection allows

@cbrcmovies Only problem is with newer games you may need to play on low settings and resolution. I already figured out a combo of playing crysis with a mixture of high, medium, and low settings.

i got this a couple of months ago and i think it's pretty amazing..... it has some cool accessories, too... it has a small remote control, an extra battery that is semi inclined and some other stuff.....
all in all it's an 8.5/10 laptop... the only thing is... it's wifi is not really good and also the battery power it only lasts for an hour or so when you switch it on high performance....

It's very true, I'm no longer confident with this type of model. For starters the built in WIFI that comes with this type computer is not very good. When I called it in, none of them have realized how much of a burden it has been to myself & family members I have recommended HP products to. I work with a lot of computers but HP's Wifi has been the most disturbing.
To top that, I currently have the tx2000 model & it continuously overheats & turns itself off. Will HP help me? I'm sure NOT.

just get a replacement dats what i did with mines my tx2 1020 was fucking up and not for nothing i think vista had alot to do with it plus i had minor problems like touchscreen not working and keyboard but i sent mines back and i got the same model but with different specs so this one is da tx2z-1300 and dey upgraded the processsor for me and gave me windows 7 pro and its beeen running great.....

Not true! I have mine for over a year and didn't experienced ANY hardware problems at all. I'm not saying it's not possible, but unlikly. It's probebly a driver issue. Even if it's not you got warranty! So don't bach a great product just because you got a bad experience

No, you can't. It feels much like a Cintiq but it's a laptop, you can´t use it like a normal tablet. Although you can probably use it to control your desktop via VNC or Radmin, theoreticaly it should work but I never tryed. If it does work Tell me :)

Yes but it is not built for gaming. It can do gaming pretty well it depends on the game for some games it it can do high setting s for games like Crysis it can do about medium settings.
