I am very good at recognizing people's face unlike my boyfriend, I think generally men are worse at this type of thing, watching a movie with my father, boyfriend or brother can be a nightmare as they get confused with characters.Some men don't actually pay much attention to specific features and instead look at someone physical appearance as a whole, specially when they look at women.

Peter Duel died and was replaced by someone who looked almost nothing like him on Alias Smith and Jones and one the Lone Ranger John Hart looked almost nothing like Clayton Moore. However Christopher Reeves had a simalar build to George Reeves, but Brandon Routh may have similar features to Christopher Reeves but was to skinny.
