uhm... normally u hit the throttle after touch down... but due to crappy russian enginerring the cable didnt hold... ive said it before ill say it again, this is why the russians will never take over the world, and why china has such a small navy... THEY SUCK! USA!
@buroff2 china doesn't have a large navy because it didn't what to end up bankrupted like some other country... and that is a good thing for everyone... =)
Well, the Russians have to learn stuff we have known for decades. I'm surprised they haven't had more crashes. Now the Chinese are going to be learning. Good luck (not)!
i think he touched down then didnt realise he caught the cable and he thought he didnt so he powered up for a take off and when the cable stopped him his engines made the cable break and then SHIT lol
Actually, if my memory serves me right, standard procedure in the US navy is to keep the engines throttled up on landing, in case you don't catch the cable, and the cable is suppose to hold the plane anyway. I assume it is the same procedure in the Russian navy, unfortunately you are then relying on proper care and maintenance of the cable.
@ecsmith62 i dont really think this is a russian boat. it may be russian airplane's but the one's operating it aren't russian nor the people operating the boat
Whoops; this is not my submarine!

Pilot: Alright, I could eject from my plane. Now i just have to find a way to not get hit by a 58000 ton ship at full speed.

Do them russians know you are supposed to go 100% throttle when you catch the arresting cable? this is an example of what happens when you dont.

@opmdevil - to me it looks the the arresting hook breaks off...
So whatever people say about this vid: it's totally not the pilots fault...
