  • Ohhh... Hope you were wearing a cup there man. That was a good solid hit.

  • @venethor Agreed. It amounts to "what fits the moment". If your adversary gives you the appropriate opening then its an option. However if your opponent is savy , that tactic could be disasterous for you. Case by case basis only....As a trainee of the blade I usually look to cut/hack things like incoming kicks.... I believe the old Masters of the sword in Europe taught things such as a stomp to the groin. I'm sure they only advocated it when appropriate rather than a primary tactic. Worked here.

  • Lol @ everyone talking about training for real life combat. There is no perfect system that is also safe. There's no way to simulate every aspect of a real fight. The only way to do that is to get in fights, and I guarantee no matter how 'dumbed down' sport fencing is, you could still use it to pin an untrained thug to a wall.

  • why fence

GET A KATANA AND FIGHT TO THE DEATH

  • Actually, I wouldn't be surprised if this would be a normal thing to see on a rapier class circa 1500. Not sure about rules of dueling, but for sure this was a fine for training for general self defense if some hood tried to mug you on the street and basic training could get nasty too.

  • @mojothemigo yeah my historical fencing teacher theaces it even now along with "If he stands wrong break his leg." Of course applies only for self-defence, staged stunts (where his leg stays in one piece) and demonstrations of why to stand the right way (lot of pain included).

  • Now that is fencing!

  • And that, children, is one reason why you always wear a cup when fencing.

  • Is that Tintern Abbey in the background?

  • Who grabs someone elses rapier in midcombat? I'd have kicked him in the balls too.

  • @DRTMaverick

"Who grabs someone elses rapier in midcombat?"

Anyone that gets the chance and are good at rapier fencing. And yea, it seems like a kick is a good counter.

  • next time try colt

  • mercy is the sign of a great man, poke, while, maybe i'm only a good man, poke, actually, i'm just an ok man.

  • what a dick!

  • FLAWLESS VICTORY!!!

  • Well he did come at him with a sword..

  • Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha I expected one to accidently stab the other in the ass but hell that was even funnier...... Well anyway back to the gore.

  • alls fair in love and war

  • haha that was great

  • QUICKLY! poke him while hes down! do it now!

  • QUICKLY! poke him while hes down! do it now!

  • POKE HIM WHILE HES DOWN, QUICKLY!

  • POKE HIM WHILE HES DOWN, QUICKLY!

  • POKE HIM WHILE HES DOWN, QUICKLY!

  • is that outside of the famous Tintern abbey?

  • assassin's creed 2.

  • oww

  • fuck swords, lets just kick him in the balls.

  • Who kicks someone in the balls??? The man who understands Truth in Combat and sets out to win.....that's REAL training ......sport dumbs down the training and teaches one to leave his/herself wide open for attack because one doesn't have to consider those attacks....reality combat is different. Of course if you only play sport against other sportsmen that's a different consideration....

  • @dallastiger1 LOL gl against any good muay thai fighter xD

  • @BloodyCrAzYzzz Well, Was not taking a swipe at Muay Thai...as fine sport that actually is very relevant to unarmed street combat.,..they can give and take great punishment and their tools are very practical. However , they do eschew training in the realm of weapon /counter weapon , multiple attackers , firearms and still have some conditioning to ring rules that can leave them open to certain considerations . I train Muay Thai as well. I love it but recognize its limitations too

  • @dallastiger1 Yeh weapons suck. Especialy if u talk about a gun. It's just to easy to kill someone with it.

  • @dallastiger1 Yea but kicking someone in the balls during a battle might not be such a good idea, because since he expects all kinds of cowardly tricks he might just lob off your leg or impale it :P

  • @Venethor How is kicking someone in the groin more cowardly than sticking him with a rapier? Or cutting him down with a longsword? Or punching him in the face, for that matter? Any attack that is effective is going to overwhelm or outmaneuver an opponent's defense, ruin their body, and keep them from returning the favor until they're out out of the fight - and is therefore "cowardly".

  • Who kicks someone in the balls??? • who the fuck kicks someone in the balls?

  • @LastOfTheWilds920 uhm, someone trying to win?

  • in real combat, that move is totally acceptable. Most training, however, frowns on that move. Still find it freakin hilarious.

  • If worse comes to worse kick them in the nuts lol

  • ahahaha! now that, that is a good reflex XD

  • left: Forget......

    right: mh..? about what?

left: TO EVER HAVING A BABY!!!!

    *kick!*

  • Don´t try to grab the swordarm.... he deseved it :P

  • bwahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahhahaahhahahahahhaagagagahahahahahahhajajajajajjahahahahhhahahahhahahahahhaaahahahahmwahahahamwahahahahahahhahahaaaaaaaaaaaahhahahahahahaahahhahaaaaaaaaahhhhhahaahahhahahahahahahaahahhahahahahahahahahhahahahaaahhaaahahhahahahahahahahahhahahahahhahahahahahaaahhahahahhahahahahhahahahahhahahahagagagagagaagagjjgajgjajgjajajahahahahahahahhahahahahahahgaghaghaghahgahghaghahahgaghahgghagahghaghahgajjajajajajjajajahaahhahahahahahahhahahahahahhahahahahahahahhahahahaajajajaja

  • If only my club had that as a valid attack!!! Ugh!!

  • Kid new he was beat so he kicks him in the junk! 0:08

  • One of the reasons it helps to lead with a shoulder ....and keep your front foot turned in.

  • You have to admit; the techniques would have worked in real life.

  • 0:10 FALCON KICK!

  • looks cooler in 1911 mode

  • please let the reffs alow

  • Why "gone bad"? He floored him, didn't he? That is what it is all about....

  • @LutzBrux

It did go bad for the other guy.

  • This does not look like real rapier to me. Rapiers could only ever hurt someone with a thrust, so why do these people act like they are fencing sabre?

  • @SorenityVids Real rapiers are sharpened on both sides at least half way down. Although thrusts are the most effective slashes can also cause harm. Either way most of the attmepts in this video were thrusts.

  • @SorenityVids Ok, I'm coming to belt you around the head with a rapier. We will see who is standing afterwards.

  • @SorenityVids Because rapiers can cut with a slash, too. The edges near the tip are sharp; hence the English style of swordfighting.

  • @vostrikov5828

Depends at what point in the development of the "Rapier" you are referring to. The modern definition may be rather fuzzy, however most agree that the true "rapier" no longer has any cutting ability whatsoever. I believe you're referring to the sidesword/"Cut-and-thrust", which could cut decently in addition to cutting.

  • @HipposHateWater You're completely right. I learned the difference between true rapiers and "rapiers" not too long ago, but much after I'd posted here.

  • @vostrikov5828

I noticed the date of your post only after I clicked "post."

Why I always do that, I'll never know... :P

Sorry if it felt like I was chewing you out on something you already knew.

  • @HipposHateWater No worries. At any rate, you may have helped clarify the issue for future comment-readers.

  • @vostrikov5828

I'm gonna make sure that makes it into my eulogy.

"He enlightened countless intellectually-lost souls wandering YouTube by clarifying what a 'rapier' really is..." : )

  • HNNNNNNNNNNNGGGHHHH

  • Al Davis said it best, just win, baby, win.

  • I didn't realize kicking in the nads was a legitimate fencing technique

  • @skeptic1890

It isn't in sport fencing. But in historical fencing it is. If you kick with too much force your sparring partner may become a bit angry tho.

  • Wait, why did this happen?

  • I'd have waited until he came out of the dressing room and then have smashed a very heavy bottle over his head. Arsehole.

  • Honour restored.

  • KICK TO THE DICK

  • finish him

  • Totally fair if it was a real fight

  • @Bowmaster512 yeah LOL problem was this wasnt a fight in the first place fencing/sparring is not a real fight

  • @Taud I'll reluctantly agree with you. However, it should be noted that there are plenty of things out there that aren't real fighting either, including MMA sports like UFC.

  • @aerik9 that wasnt my point though, my point was that it WASN'T fair because this was a sparring match not a street fight, low blows are forbidden in fencing, hell most of the time any strike with anything but the sword is an illegal move, totally unsportsman like, they wouldn't allow a crotch kick on purpose in professional sport fights either

  • @Taud Low blows are forbidden in sport fencing, but this was a sparring match meant to reflect historical renaissance combat fencing, in which there is no illegality for anything. Certainly practitioners try to control their attacks when risky, but every so often they bungle it, and stuff like this happens. I myself have clonked a few people on the head because I failed to properly control my strikes when we weren't wearing fencing masks.

  • @Taud

Sport fencing is just that: a 'sport', NOT a martial art. Therefore, it's "rules of conduct" do not apply.

  • @HipposHateWater what? oh that was about 5 months ago i've already moved on from the debate with this guy

  • perfect action in that distance. flawless victory.

  • ! ! ! ! FATALITY ! ! ! !

  • guy #2 on the ground is a fool and if it had been a real duel he would have lost that weak hand of his and not just his pride =^_^= nice kick btw spot on

  • DOUCHE!!

  • wtf.... i saw that, i immediately grabbed my nuts and grunted

what a bitch that girl is

  • what a douche....and that bitch that laughed...what a bitch i hope someone laughs at her when shes giving birth...bitch

  • Hopefully he was practicing safe fencing and was wearing a sports cup. :D

  • @DarckTheCat +1

  • SCREMBLED EGGS ! XDDDDD

  • hmm, well this leads to a quite effective killing blow I'd say! XDDD

  • Touche!

  • Haha...he was like "Imma stab you...Imma sta-!" *kicked in the nuts*

  • Happened to me one time, it hurts more when you laugh afterwards. People always forget the legs. lol

  • Bladeless victory, you win!... Ouch =S.

  • Guy1: Take that!

Guy2: AWW FUCK MAN! YOU HAVE A SWORD!!!!

  • サイテ~

  • NUT SHOT!

  • WEAR A FUCKING CUP.

  • was expecting someones eyes to get poked out lol

  • Thats pirate fenceing

  • that was just...wrong...but lol totally unexpected.

  • ....ok... now let's try some fencing....^*

  • FINISH HIM!!!!

  • ULTIMATE ONE HIT KO.

  • Always...

    ...always wear a cup.

  • If you want your day ruined, search YouTube for Muslim Demographics.

  • @Bellybeard - You should look it up on Snopes dot com

The information is very one-sided, and not particularly accurate.

  • That is skill in my view. Who needs to be a gentleman in a fight, that is not how to win war

  • Fencing is supposed to be elegant...that just looks like two blind men settling a quarrel.

  • @revolversntulips As with any fight, elegance is of limited concern. If you read any number of Renaissance manuscripts on swordfighting, most masters will comment on unpredictability of combat, and even though the sword fighting plates may look pretty, there is a reason there are numerous grappling plates.

  • @DragonDagger1382 Ok ok I get ya. 10 years ago I was one of the better fencers in my country and in my age (16 years old in sweden but still). Not saying that to brag just wanted to clarify that if you're good at fencing elegancy comes natural because effiiciency is elegant - it's nothing you strive for so to speak. A martial art I think messed that up is kung fu and capoiera. They put elegancy first and then got shitty results. Spare me the shit about hidden techniques all of you who got angry.

  • @revolversntulips: It depends on the style. Movie fighting is far different from real fighting, and most Kung fu styles are very good at finishing an opponent quickly and efficiently. I agree that capoiera is all for show though, but if you take elements on if it can actually translate into fencing well. I do SCA fighting, occasionally with a curved saber type sword. The basic capoiera footwork is actually really good to move around the floor and get in close for slashing attacks.

  • OWNED!

  • Hahaha ;D

  • average weight of plate armour from europe was around 45-65 lbs. approximately the same as samurai armour.

  • @tejhim : And for the most part, samurai armor was made of wood, not metal.

  • good technique. :)

  • ah the good old kick in the balls. works in any fight

  • Japanese swordsmanship is over rated due to anime and movies.

If the we were to pit a samurai vs a knight in a fight to the death. The knight will cleave he jap in two. Due to the knight massive size and strength compare to the little jap.

  • @XSoulStormX That's not true, bro. The Jap and the knight were actually roughly the same size back in the day. Besides that, the Jap was far more nimble than the knight in its heavy-ass armor, due to the Jap's slightly less heavy-ass armor. Thus, it's really be a toss-up.

  • Good example of what NOT to do

  • he hit the wrong sword!!!

  • Damn, I was hoping for some impaling.

  • I like the old version of the 3 Musketeers, with Michael York as D'Artagnan, for this reason. The fighting was realistic and often used dirty tricks and improvised attacks. If you haven't seen it, you should.

  • Feel the point of my rapier scoundrel!

  • thats why you use these tricks only when the situation is right and not force it

  • ball shot !

  • outstanding move, very effective

  • ah yes chivalry at its finest

  • was that in the nuts?

  • Oops?

  • Touche'

  • Aha, ah well known Tallhofer technique. shau die testickelen...

  • LMAO, now that's swordfighting, kick the shit out him!

  • touche!

  • That move was hardly the mark of a gentleman, but I guess his opponent got too close for comfort ^_^

  • You could hear that!

  • Luckily, his testicles blocked the blow to his abdomen!

Ow! I can imagine men around the world feeling secondary pain from that kick.

  • @frostek lmao

  • @frostek

A brilliant display of the differences between european and asian martial values:

Asian: Preserve tradition, honor, respect, and culture.

    European: Win.

  • @JohnnyWishbone85 indeed, in Kendo, even if you make a clear and solid strike, you can be denied said point if the judge feel you didn't put enough spirit into the strike. whereas, in european fencing, you don't get a point unless you hit your target, and thats it.

  • @JohnnyWishbone85 martial arts means "art of Mars". Mars is the god of war.

So really martial arts is the art of fighting for life and death. That means everything is fair.

The so-called "martial arts" practiced to day is not "martial arts". They are "combat sports". Sports for combat and similar between gentlemen. They are not really about life and death, just some fun; and character building, if you buy into that.

    It's not martial arts.

  • @frostek couldn't decide what joke to go with hm?

  • nigga got in too close

  • poor guy that must have hurt. still funny though

  • lol I believe that is a legal move in a fight though :-)

  • Everything that harms your opponent is legal in a real fight...Any kicks, punches, weapon holding and even insluts are legal...not in the sport fencing on the Olympics, but in most of historical fencing schools, almost everything is allowed

  • Fact: Only toothless persons are considered unarmed

  • they might have nails!!! *pulls his pliers out* but we can fix that...

  • Even then they still have fists.

  • damm straight. only in a duel are there any rules. in a true sword fight everything is allowed. most of those fights were over within 30 seconds anyway

  • What you need is a padded codpiece!

  • man on the right : Hey i got you!

Man on the left: nope we're playing roshambo now.

  • omg! that would've hurt like fucking hell!

  • Touché! :DD

  • Thank God for the cup

  • BALL SHOT

  • honor thrown out the window ha ha

  • BULLSEYE !! :D

  • ahahahaha omg that must have hurt alot!

  • ROFLMAOCOPTER

  • ahahahahahahaha, ... FINISH HIM

  • Babality! )

  • Lmao. I dont think Babality would even happen after what has happend here.

  • Shouldn't have grabbed his arm

  • flawless victory...

  • haha...

  • That the most cruel strike of them all

  • I had a feeling as soon as I saw his stance HE was the one who was going to get hurt!

  • HAHAHAHAAHAAHAHAAHA !

  • HAHAHA

  • who needs a sword when u can do that :)

  • Love it. Beautiful. Lmao

  • brilliant!!

  • HEADSHOT.

    think about it...

  • A kick to the nuts! The oldest, dirtiest and most effective attack in one's arsenal! This is a magnificent display of pragmatism in a fight!

Next time the fellow attempts to grab the rapier, he better make sure his nuts are not exposed to a kick!

  • thats why I wear a cup at ALL times.

  • @Punishthefalse "In a real fight, you don't fight dirty. You do the things that make dirty look good."

  • Finally! Some realistic fight!

  • AAAAAAND ITS AN OVER9000 CRITICAL
