@MrLeluchador haha yea definitely.. it might take awhile but there's no doubt I could do it. It looks more fun than challenging to be honest.. I read it was 3 miles but either way I could do it, seems like I'm bragging ha ..
I love all the haters.. i.e. the lazy SOB's that haven't even tried this race and probably sit at home and eat Twinkies all day long.. Sign up, try and run it, and I'll laugh at you when you are on the ground ready to puke your guts out. The videos are 60 seconds of highlights for what can be hours of punishment. Dont knock it until you try it!
@sdailey123 stfu this shit is dumb. why would i waste my time 1 . 2 i would not puke cus this shit is easy as fuck for a person in atheletic standard as me
For those stating its dumb to pay to do something like this, try getting off your ass and away from your Xbox for a while. These events are worth every penny. I just completed the Warrior Dash last week and intend on competing in the Spartan Race in October. These events are freaking awesome!!!
@defender280 It's 14 in US and 16 in UK and Canada I'm so excited I just turned 14 so now I can do this and the Warrior Dash and then tough mudder when i am 18
Spartans were the greatest soldiers known to man. The movie 300 doesn't compare to the childhood stories I was told about the great Spartans. Nice race.
This is excellent ! im in the military and have been looking for something like this , which is fun, mulitisportish, but doenst involve having an expensive bike or super-duper clothes... fits the bill, bringing fun and roughness back to outdoor sports and racing
spartanrace you give a bad name to the spartan's you need to up the game if you want to call your self spartan. It looked like a dulled down military opstical corse. you should make it hard were only the strong make it and a lot of people fail, cause only a few can be spartans.
Although you are most likely correct on the level of difficulty brought by the Spartan Race, you must also remember that it is a business. The point of business's is to create revenue and profit. I see little to not point in running a business that only few can attend. I'm sure you can agree with me.
Listen, I'm not endorsed by these guys, but if you want a company to earn revenue and profit, you need to create a demand. How do you do that? Several ways.. You could create name that will attract attention. Then it needs to appeal to people of a variety of ages and it needs to be something that people can do so that the target audience is broad enough for revenue to peak. Anywho, not going to start a debate here. 'Nuff said. You guys are smart.
Well yes it is a business but have you seen the show on G4 called ninja warrior? Its a multimillion dollar show and only 3 people out of over 100,000(dont quote my numbers, but the 3 is right) have made it. Its the challenge, and thrill that drive people to do it wether they lose or not.
@jdubsky True, but perhaps they could have tiers.. I'm not sure if they already do this, but they could totally expand it and take the winners and drive them through much more difficult challenges and get like national champions, that way you weed people out, but only by raising the winners, so no one feels bad and you still make a profit :)
+1 This is an excellent point. In fact, I could be wrong, but I believe that the top several winners of each area get to compete in another type of race at some point.
But yeah, a tier system would definitely pump people up to increase their athleticism and strive for greatness. That would be great.
@jdubsky there is a tier system, spartan sprint 3miles 10-12 obstacles top 3 men and females get free entry to next level, Spartan Race 8 miles 15- 17 obstacles top 3 male and female winners get free entry to next level, death race which is a complete surprise till day of event, but only 90% of people that enter death race fail
@TLMcKinzie5601 They do have tiers beginning with the entry level Spartan Sprint, intermediate level Super Spartan and the ‘99.9% need not apply’ extreme level Spartan Death Race.
The Spartan Death Race has broken many world-class athletes, and was the first Spartan race to be made. So, in essence the company actually made it more accessible by making these 'easier' challenges.
@jdubsky at least make a new type of race that is extremely tough so you almost cant pass it so people can do the easier ones but if they want an intense course they could do that. call it the spartan test or something
@jdubsky: well some of the profits go to Service member homes Injured in combat, and anyone CAN attend but only a few have the stones to do it, and less finish... there is on this year in Malibu and if im still on leave at that time i will drive my butt up there and maybe do it; and @billytillery: dulled DOWN, bro i have been in the service(s) for a hot minute now and i can only think of a few courses that are even half of the median course!
Yes in the army my unit calls ourselves spartans. Look It up there was a movie made about us it was called BLACK HAWK DOWN! SO what my POINT IS YOU SHUT THE FUCK UP!
@billytillery You Ignorant Fool!!!!!!!! Thats Why they Have 4 Levels of the Race!!!!! the top one is The Spartan Death Race!!!! POSER!!! only 90% of the ppl who actualy do it Succeed!!! Now i wana see you do IT!!!!!!!!!!
@iwantsomegatorade this comment made me laugh xD mostly because I could picture you as a drill instructor just from the random shouting!!!!!!!!!! now do it!!!!!!!!!!!! lol xD
@billytillery its not meant to be that competitive. While I agree it should be harder to complete, it should not be to the point where people fail. It's meant for people that want to give themselves a challenge without killing themselves over an obstacle course. Its for the everyday person is what I'm tryin to say.
@billytillery Hey buddy, if youre looking for a tough run, try the Marathon Des Sables, a 6 day marathon through the sands of Morroco, its 151 miles long, temperatures reach 120 degrees, and have to climb sand dunes. And to top it all off, theres a 5000$ entry fee, which includes the cost of shipping your body away, should you pass away on the trip.
@TheBradyrulez marathons are for people who can't or don't want to do anything else. Training to run for a really long time... who gives a shit. Try challenging all your muscle groups.
@billytillery Man are you stupid ever heard of spartan death race? Look it up. Get your fact straight before you diss on the spartan race...Grow some balls and race....then get back to me.
Even still. I ran one today and it is fun as all shit. Most fun I have had in a very long time. I am not what you would call in the pinnacle of shape, it was a challenge and it was great!
@billytillery Or you could go to the website and see that there actually is different levels of difficulty... Or be ignorant and shoot your mouth off without looking into it first, if you havnt already done that.
@billytillery They also have different levels of the race. The easiest being the Spartan Sprint followed by Super Spartan, Spartan Beast, and the toughest Spartan Death Race.

Ok, that's it. I've had it with the 300 inspired obessesion about Spartans. One of the things that people always neglect/forget about them is that they were tough as nails and gay as f**k. The only way this is truly a Spartan race is if as soon as they cross the finish line they all strip off their clothes and f**k each other stupid. Seriously. How about some historical accuracy here. With lots of balls in your face.
