my dad had a 69 B5 blue RR convertible with white interior and a hurst 4 speed which was suppose to be my car but he got sick of it and sold it completely restored and everything to factory standards $17,500. another 6 years fuck he coulda got $50,000
The exhaust at that time was just stock 2.5 inch head pipes then turbo mufflers then 2 inch tail pipes. I added the chrome repro tips that were available on Hemis and 6-pack cars. Clutch is 2 stage diaphragm with foot pedal helper spring removed. Rear gears are 3.92 with sure-grip. The current exhaust he put on recently. My part of the build is almost 6 years old now. MoPar or No Car, it is a way of life. Cogito ergo MoPar!
I installed the windage try kit, freshened up the heads, put on a stock Thermoquad Intake from a 1976 New Yorker and had the TQ carb gone thru by DemonSizzler, there is a Fluidamper balancer from Cat, a stock clutch fan and the large 4 core wide radiator. The cam is an original Mopar Performance purple shaft with .509" lift and 292 duration. The ignition is Mopar Performance electronic with the MP chrome box and MSD Blaster3 coil. Headers are Wolverine If I remember correctly.
The engine is a 1968 440 from a Crown Imperial that I got for $100 (whole car). The heads are stock 906's from the 1970 383 that was in the Roadrunner when I got it.
Hello, this belongs to my son, he bought it from me pretty much like it is now. I had a '69 back in the day (early 70's) and I had installed those type of rally mirrors on it back then so I found some and put them on this one because I liked the look of them on the '70 and up Challengers Cudas and the 71' and up Chargers and Satellites/RR's.
Yep, a 440, used to be 383, if yu click the other "Runner" vid on my profile yu can hear the difference. Well, the other vid it wasn't warmed up yet and a plug wire kept slappin a header, not to mention a "junkie" motor, but still that that ole 383 was alotto fun :).
Nopes, those mirrors we're simply put on there to pass some inspection track or local laws, can't remember which they we're kinda rednecked in there truthfully haha, whatever works right?
Stock 383 had surprising amount of horses and TORQUE!! I had two 1969 Roadrunners in the late 70's and mid 80's. Both 383's, one with 4 speed, one with auto. Nothing quite like a Big Block!!
man thats a nice car my dads got a 69 roadrunner and crags it, go a 493 big block chrysler in it that he built himself. anyway thats a nice car you got there
Actually it depends which model you speak of.There was the Satellite,Roadrunner and then GTX.Gtx had the 440s.Sattelites had 318(some did come out with 383) and Roadrunners had 383 some did have 440.(depending on the customer if they did factory orders for insurance purposes)
The Six Pack was an option, but it was not a standard. Edelbrock could barely keep up with the production demand needed for the intakes. That's why a matching numbers Six Pack car is worth big bucks today.
I had a 68 with a 383.I could do burn outs like you wouldnt believe.110 feet in 1st gear, 90 feet 2nd gear,30 feet 3rd gear and about 5 feet in 4th.I raced that car so much that a carried cheater slicks with me in the trunk.I changed them out before racing.

True that man, the 383 in b4 would wind up to 6500-7000 no probs, ole junkie engine but ran great, since we put a 440 in it and it just screams man

you could only have a 440 in a road runner in 69 with a 6 pak
