Nice. You shaded the high and low tones. Would that look good with a very bright out door scene rendering? I guess some spots are too dark for a texture. Like they were some intense shadows created by a light source in a dark room. My advice is that, you need to paint your textures generally in a diffuse color sense. Don't add too dark or too light shadows and highlights. Make them in mid skin tones generally. Not that i am very good at texturing but it's just an advice from an artistic vision.
ZBrush 3.1, you can paint on the model with any brush/texture/alpha then add Auto UV's at the lowest subdiv, create a blank texture then grab it all to that texture!! Sweet!!
Hi, i was reading step by step polypaint process and how to convert from mesh paint to a texture, but I just cant get it work i dunno what the fuck am I doing wrong, wud u please explain in your words the workflow T_T?? thanksss
My problen is when i clic con Col->txt, the model dissapears and so does the texture..
Make sure you take the model down to the lowest sub-div (1) and click AutoUV's in texture tab, Then back up to highest sub-div. Create a new texture, set MRGB to 100% and click Col>Texture and it'll grab your polypainting to the texture you created using the UV's you created!!
You basically create a simple mesh in Zbrush or in c4d/max/xsi etc, import it as OBJ then subdivide/smooth it in Zbrush (add more polys) and then using the various brushes you sculpt it by adding to or taking away from the model/mesh like clay sculpting..but thats just the beginnning...
the higher res it is in ZBrush the more detail but the polycolours you paint (using texture/images as well if you like) are then "grabbed" to a texture that can be applied to the lowpoly/displacement version...see my colors to texture video as well for more on that ;)
amazing! brillaint work!

I have trouble getting the skin color and texture to look right, can you do a tutorial on that?

Search google for "painting skin tutorial"
Its a massive topic and something I may tackle at some point but I'm still learning myself so my advice might not be advantageous to ya!!

Is poly painting based on resolution? so the model needs the same rez in an external app for the paint to look good?
