I think they made the right decision, re-doing the scene. Here, it looks like Sarah's convinced Walt. In the version used, he seems more tense, less willing to accept Johnny into the mix.
Also, the revised version's somewhat more dignified--the two are both standing up, speaking as equals, who respect each other as equals. Here, Sarah kneeling before Walt makes her look a little like a child asking a parent...and Walt's attitude actually increases that effect.
