@timberwood6 Played it.... They zone states like Michigan, Minnesota, and the Boston area into 5,000 districts to keep them from over-powering states like California and Florida. If they were able to stack the hell out of teams like the other regions, they would destroy them all. We are wrong? Name 3 players in the NHL from California and Florida COMBINED. Didn't think so. USA Hockey does this to keep the interest in the lower talented states. If they had no chance, they would fold.

@transws6am Well up and rising. They have many players playing for the NTDP and WHL. It is not a powerhouse but Los Angeles is becoming a hotbed. In fact, NCAA is trying to get USC and UCLA to become Division I schools in the near future.

@timberwood6 Dude, California is nothing for hockey. It is one of the biggest states, and it is still only okay at hockey.

For the Southwest, Arizona is where it is. Jr Coyotes take nationals all the time, Phoenix Polar Bears have taken Nationals a few times in Juniors in the past 5-10 years, and Team USA's u17 top player is from North Phoenix

@hockeymatt1994 jr coyotes really? maybe in AA not AAA. two teams from cali made regional semis for 18AAA, one made into th finals, and both lost to a team that had an illegal player, so th titans and th kings shouldve made it to th regional finals, and one of them wouldve had to go to nationals. did a team from az win nationals in AAA?
