Where should I start? I am black, I saw the invite online, and it doesn't matter that Mr. Jones supported this party. It was in poor taste, and the racist aspect is that I am not sure that those participating in it realized that this sort of humor is supposed to be satirical. The difference between Mr. Jones' humor and the humor of say Dave Chapelle is that Chapelle makes it clear that he is mocking how stupid racial stereotypes are. I honestly think that this guy is the least racist person ever (not sarcasm). At first i was thinking "wow this shit is straight out of bamboozled." But letting people party on the same level is the best idea i've ever heard for diffusing racism. I don't excuse the idiots on the campus TV show or the noose hanging... that's just fucked up lol.

I was just reading about some senator forced into quitting because he kind of implied that he was pro segregation a few years back.
Imagine if he hadn't admitted it, he would just be a dormant racist. People shouldn't be chastised because they're wrong, they should be educated or voted out of office

The Koala organization on campus added fuel to the fire by expressing racial slurs on campus TV, not to mention someone hanging a noose in the central library on campus. And just because you're black does not make it okay to make fun of blacks in the way you did.

How is he great? Was his "party" trying to be ironic, showing how silly racial stereotypes are? That's not what his video said. It seems he truly believes that black people are exactly what was described in the Facebook invite. I have been black since birth and my family has NEVER fit into anything he described. BSU is using this event to get sympathy and push their ridiculous and hilarious demands.
And that noose that was PLANTED on UCSD campus, how much you want to bet someone from BSU placed it there. Now they're gonna cry foul.
More Afro/Black students on campus? I'm cool with that, but everyone has to get entry the same way. Through grades and merit.
When i was in HS you need a 4.2gpa and 1250/1600 SAT.

Well, when you raise entire generations to be lifelong victims, that's how they're going to act. You can thank people like Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton who tell you that you can't possibly succeed, you'll never amount to anything and the rest of the world hates you because of your race. How dare you tell them to not be offended, or to pretend to know about the suffering of another group of people. Why is the attention on the black community, why are they the bad guys when they are expressing their feelings. The protest started at 8 a.m. with a crowd full of people crying about real pain. I remember the people who did the dirty work so your generation can sit around and whine about how hard you have it. if you payed attention to the ENTIRE story you would realize that the party was just the tip of the iceberg. the students didn't raise a fuss until koala tv aired derogatory comments about blacks including the phrase "ungrateful niggers."

Just FYI there were people who visited and spoke at our rally that were a part of the Civil Rights Movement you ignorant fool. We didnt play the race card, those who threw a black history party played the race card. Our movement did serve to get attention, and we used that attention to obtain positive outcomes for our university, we won. Maybe if you were half as smart as us you wouldnt be so misinformed and angry.
