@ViniciusLaiho I do a lot of alternate picking in this song. I do not do it at the part where Kirk joins in because I need to make a semi-pinch harmonic to make the distinctive sound, and I can't do that if I alternate pick. At the riffs I do not do alternate picking, because you get harder sound by picking down at all times. That's what Metallica does too.
This song is most definitely played in full D. Watch Metallica play it live, it is absolutely full D. Stop believing the tab websites, they're not always right.
@Brndnrchrdsn85 It is funny you should say that since i just saw several videos that had people asking for tabs in spanish.. Apparently people are stupid in mexico too.
@Deathpool35 Drop D is okay, same thing only you bar to do a powerchord. I use full step down, wich means I tune in D, but I tune down all the strings a full step, instead of just tuning the 6th string to D, as you do in drop D.
@vM3TALLICAx I assure you, the sound would be absolutely terrible if I didn't have it in D-tuning.
If you think the guitar sounds out of tune, maybe it's SLIGHTLY off intonation or something. Cause I remember tuning the guitar seconds before this cover :P
@thekillersmusic16 Some parts may be difficult like the first soloing in the intro. But it is indeed one of the easier Metallica songs. So with some practise I believe you can nail it :)
I'm afraid I ain't got time to do guitar lessons at the moment, but maybe some time in the future. But I can assure you there are many great tabs for this if you search for it in google.
Ibanez is much more comfortable to play on. The ESP has great metal sound and doesn't lose power when I tune it down. But I like the sound on the Ibanez even better. (DiMarzio pickups ftw!)
I am not sure. I think I prefer the Ibanez. They are two very different guitars. I now have my perfect setup though. I have the Ibanez for standard tuning songs, and I have the ESP for half and full step down tunings. And the ESP is perfect for that, I've looked hard for a Les Paul style 24 fret EMGguitar
Yes, an ESP, but it's ESP LTD, means it is made in Korea, not Japan. But the more expensive models won't have much difference, unless they have tremolos (better tremolo systems on Japanese).
It's an anniversary guitar from ESP in 2005 the company was 30 years, hence the "30" symbol on the fretboard. It's a good guitar, and I am happy with it. I would recommend it to anyone. You can find the non anniversary model too. It's all in the EC series.
Ah yeah that's true. But still, no big difference between Korea and Indonesia. The real difference lies between those countries and Japan or USA and such
How long have you had the cube 80x? Have you played it in a live setting with drums? Looking into this amp, maybe to buy. Let me know your thoughts on this amp.
Only a couple of months. And I have not tried it in a live setting with drums. You'll just have to try it out in your local music store. But I am sure you will be very happy anyways if you choose this amp. I am very happy with it, and I am kind of an perfectionist when it comes to the gear for my hobbies.
Uuuh.. About one year acoustic, and almost two years electric now. But I only play as a hobby. So I should be better than I am, if I played more frequently and practised more.
It's not out of tune at all actually. The song is tuned full step down (DAFCGD), as is my guitar. And if you listen at 1:17 and listen carefully to the background guitar, you will hear that it is correct.
nice cover! and guitar looks cool. is that emg's in them? and dude what did you do with your mh-1000? thats like one of my dream guitars... and a suggestion for a new buy, buy a tube amp. that will make your sound much better!
I know about the tube amp stuff. The MH-1000 had BAAAAD scratches on the back of the guitar, I painted it but then the front looked so bad in comparison too. I just couldn't take that shit, I need my guitars to be perfect. So I sold that one.
Yeah on my new there are EMG's like on the MH-1000, but instead of a 85 in the neck, my new one has a 60 in the neck. Gotta say I love that pickup
aaah ok. anyways dude i love seing your videos. i think that your awesome as guitarist. idk how to explain it but just your attitude and the way you reply to ppl and everything, makes you awesome
Haha! No I love the Ibanez. I finally have my dream gear: Ibanez RG2550Z (tremolo guitar tuned E standard) and now the ESP EC-2005 (without tremolo wich I will use in different tuned songs).
I actually have three guitars another one Ibanez RG321MH wich I fittet with Seymour Duncans SH-2 and TB-6 but I was not happy, so that one is for sale for norwegians.
Where the alternate picking?

EQ: Bass 12 o'clock, Mid 1 o'clock, Treble almost 3 o'clock.
Amp model: R-fier
Gain: 3 o'clock
Presence: Almost full
Delay: Middle volume then tap twice in one second
That's all I guess. I don't use any other effects or anything.
Some of the sound (heavy sound) comes from the guitar as well. Got mahogany body with EMG 81 and 85 pickups
