ive been predicting this would happen in wis since 1997. 98% of wis state employees are worthless and couldnt last a week working at burger king. they spent all the money under that creepy douche bag james doyle and now the bill is due. wtf did you think was gonna happen you morons? send the crandin wis police to the riots. they murder girls that wont fuck them think what they would do to the rioters!

@cloogerdude you are a freak, all these things you accuse others of are things you do yourself, who would even think of "sniffing bicycle seats at the playground"

MacIver is a partisan, right-wing funded PR propaganda firm not a "think tank." Ask them to open their books. See who funds them.
Anyone who claims themselves to be a "free market" advocate and backs a bill that permits Scott Walker to sell Wisconsin Energy assets using a non-competitive no-bid sale procedure is double-talking (lying) with regard to free market principles. A no-bid sale is crony capitalism that abandons "free" market pricing that would provide sellers with fair value. Corrupt
@InTheAtticLights1 I hope you are attempting to shine that "light of funding" on all of the Soros-funded websites you appear to get your information (and talking points) from. After all, that's only "fair," right? That IS what you are after, right? "Fair" reporting?
DoA Sec. Mike Huebsch's estimate of $7.5 mill was grossly overstated -factor of 20 - to which he admitted implicitly by providing his new estimate: $347,500
While urging a judge to scale back protests, a state DoA official said the state Capitol sustained $7.5 million in damage for which they could provide no basis. Their new estimate was $347,500 and even that could be high.
"Smells" like an effort to pour gas on the anti-protester fire. That got a PolitiFact PANTS ON FIRE rating.
All those protestors should be thankful for a job. Maybe they should reflect on the people who pay taxes that don't have a job, but have to pay their salaries. The government of the people are the ones in power NOT the unions. Great cudos to the Republicans who stand up for the people. Dems need to remember they LOST in November!!!
Jimmy Carter--a democrat--stripped federal government workers of their "right" to collective bargaining back in the late '70s and no one made as big of a fuss over that.
Amazing! After 4 weeks of huge protests (300,00+ protestors) Fox news finds a handful of protestors trying to get into their Capitol which they have illegally been locked out of. Maybe these 'protestors' are the instigators Walker admitted thinking about.
The police in this video are Wisconsin State patrol troopers. Walker appointed the father of the 2 powerful Rep. Fitzgerald brothers head of the State Patrol shortly after he took office. Other local police won't do it.
"Do the right thing!" "Shame!" "This is our house!"
The "right thing" is throwing you punks in jail to think about YOUR shameful actions taking place in a public "house." The White House is also called "the people's house." I'd love to see law enforcement's reaction to you thugs trying to bust in there.
@disturbedone27 Why do commie fucks like yourself hate when people earn a living? and you are correct treasonous commie progressive insurgent..but the beginning started on Nov 2nd 2012 when "we the people" tossed out 800 commie dems nationwide onto the dem created unemployment lines ....Obama the union boss has awaked the silent no more MAJORITY ...brace yourself for 2012 it is gunna be another tsunami ...
@HangProgressives HAHA typical of you to call me a commie fuck. That all you got in your dictionary? So you admit to being paid to troll? Go out and get a real job! Besides calling everyone who doesn't agree with a commie nice to see that your lil movement woke up a bigger movement. Thanks love it man! 2012 its over for you fascists. Oh and got a rope? Find me and you can hang me :) but are you Patriotic enough to do it? Or you all talk? HAHA i laugh at you people.
All they are going to do is cut off our food supply. What are you going to do then? Are you going to go and protest? We will see how well that goes, on the 3rd day without food. Thing about starving people, they no longer have any problems...other then feeding themselves that is.
funny how the dems pushed through health care and everything they wanted and it was alright, now they get a taste of there own medicine and they act like a bunch of five year olds, tough!
Sorry Union thugs of Wis. You bargained yourself into a unsustainable system. Now the Republicans must clean it up. Your Dem. representation ran in to hiding. Much in the same way Judas did. The bill is signed. The burden paying Bus drivers 100k per year, and charging overtime for the phone calls you make on the golf course will come to an end. Look at the bright side. You still will only pay for a small portion of your benefits. This is page 5 news.God bless the Rep.. for having this courage!
@xantastic67 Yeah fuck teachers and their mansions. But the rich can keep their 9000000000000000000000001 dollar jobs. Keep fighting for the rich guys we know they need alll the help they can get!
@Sp0ilTheFun Yes. Everyone that disagrees with you hates teachers. Also, collective bargaining is a constitutional right that your ancestors died for. And rich people don't provide Jobs or pay taxes. Michael Moore is a hero. And the Gov. of Wis. is a Nazi. Problem is you have lost on all of these points. Maybe it's time for a different approach My health care premium spiked 18% this year. I can't afford yours to. THIS IS WEIGHT OFF OF THE NON-UNION LABORERS BACKS! TODAYS UNIONS SUCK!
@xantastic67 You're claiming that teachers make a gross amount of money which is just a fox news talking point. You act as if the unions are just taking over the corporations and demanding money from the gov. But the truth is that the unions accepted the proposed pay cutts but taking away the right for the union to bargain is like saying "Fuck unions" because then they become worthless.
This is all political, destroy the unions = destroy democrat support.
@Sp0ilTheFun Y'know what? I don't care if it IS all about "[destroying] Democrat support." In point of fact, there's far more to it than that, but it's very telling that you think it's sooo horrible for the GOP to try to undermine "Democrat support" inherent to unions. The vast majority of people, including liberals, even including union members, all say that it's UNETHICAL for unions to force dues from people and then spend it on the Lefty agenda. BANNING unions from that activity is GOOD.
@canofsand It is all political, unions agreed to the pay cuts since the beginning. But republicans were after their right to organize, that is why they passed the bill without any financial provisions because all they want is to destroy the unions. If the governor actually wanted to balance the budget he would have raised taxes on the wealthy as he was advised by financial experts.
@Sp0ilTheFun "right to organize"? Raising taxes on the wealthy as a solution? Trusting Leftist agenda-pushers and labeling them "experts," despite their "expert" advice totally backfiring in places like New York where it's been tried (the wealthy and their businesses move out, tax income goes DOWN)? It's like you're not even following along.
@canofsand EXPERTS WITH FACTS AND DATA have said that raising taxes will help Wisconsin to close their gap. But I guess we should look to china for help right? Low taxes on corporations and the workers can go fuck themselves with 25cent an hour jobs.
@Sp0ilTheFun EXPERTS WITH FACTS AND DATA have said that raising taxes is a short-term solution to a long-term problem. But let me guess, your experts and data are "better" than mine, because you agree with them.
@canofsand And of course taking away the unions right to bargain is a long term solution. amrite? I guess I shouldn't be surprised, after all your base thinks that NPR is bankrupting America.
@Sp0ilTheFun Public unions aren't the same as private unions. Public should NOT have collective bargaining rights. It defeats the entire logic of the bargaining table when they can effectively control both sides of the table. Until this changed for purely political purposes, opposition to this so-called "right" was Democrat orthodoxy. Even FDR opposed it. (more)
@Sp0ilTheFun (more) And not that you care about facts and honest debate, but the NPR jab was a straw man. No one's saying they're bankrupting us. Government-funding for that sort of outfit is simply wrong on principle, always has been.
"The process of collective bargaining, as usually understood, cannot be transplanted into the public service." Yes, public workers may demand fair treatment, but "I want to emphasize my conviction that militant tactics have no place" in the public sector. "A strike of public employees manifests nothing less than an intent on their part to prevent or obstruct the operations of Government."
@Sp0ilTheFun Public sector collective bargaining being allowed in the FIRST PLACE is what was political. Getting rid of it is LOGICAL, MORAL, and in the long-term NECESSARY. Public sector unions are nothing but Progressive agenda-pushing political engines. Their ability to be such should be destroyed - no collective bargaining, no forced membership, no forced collection of dues, no ability to spend dues on politics in any fashion, no federal funding/bailouts/subsidies.
@greymoose1000 How ironic that you'd post such an assertion while at the same time putting forth non sequitur and ad hominem as if it was a logical counter to anything I posted at all.
@canofsand Unions were established to protect the common working man, to give them a voice. The only reason unions support Democrats is because Democrats support them. Big corporations pour in an enormous amount of money into republican campaigns and have had bailouts, i guess we should destroy them too?
@Sp0ilTheFun The road to hell is paved with good intentions - not that it's even relevant that unions were ostensibly started with such "good intentions." Also utterly irrelevant is your "argument" about corporations. There's no comparison at all to be made between a privately-owned corporation doing what it wants to do and a union forcibly taking people's money and spending it on things they don't support. The fact that you can't see this shows us how intellectually dishonest and blind you are.
@Sp0ilTheFun I see that you have nothing of substance to add. Even most DEMOCRATS at least SAY they're against unions taking dues and giving them to political causes that some members don't support . In some states, even if you opt out of joining the union, you are FORCED to pay sizable fees to them! Face it: Big Labor is more of a leech on the American worker than Big Business (AKA those who GAVE YOU A JOB) can even dream of: You can always find another employer, but the Union is govt-enforced.
@canofsand That doesn't even make any sense. Why would Democrats be against unions donating to political parties when they are some of their biggest donors. Not every state is a "Right-To-Work" state, that isn't even the issue we are discussing, if it was I would agree that you should have the choice to opt out of unions. People pay taxes, big corporations usually pay about 0%-6% of their taxes and get big subsidies. Not to mention that they are off-shoring jobs.
@Sp0ilTheFun "Why would Democrats be against unions donating to political parties when they are some of their biggest donors."
If you're talking about the politicians, they aren't, but the ones that at least want to APPEAR like they're in tune with the American people, who are decidedly AGAINST scumbaggery like effectively FORCING members to donate to political causes they might not believe in, at least SAY they don't like this behavior. (more)
@Sp0ilTheFun (more) What *actually* doesn't make sense is your babble about "right to work" states. Those are states where it's illegal to force people into unions, so all you've said is that people shouldn't be forced into unions... in states where they can't be. What?? So you're OK with FORCING people into unions in other states. Why should those people have fewer rights? Why should THEIR money be FORCED into Dems' pockets - other than the obvious: immoral, scummy, purely political reasons.
@DarthKap youtube dont allow links noob do your own research ...typical commie fuck unwilling to work ....go fuck yourself and get the fuck out of my republic
@DillonDee1 Corporate interests? This is about public sector unions here, lamebrain, and the people of WI asserting their rights to end these organizations' monopoly power to demand basically anything they want and get it from the corrupt democratic officials whom they elect year after year. Did you smoke one too many joints and reply to the wrong video?
@DillonDee1 No, they're running it as the PEOPLE want for a change, and not according to the demands of special interest public sector monopoly unions. Walker and the GOP are doing EXACTLY what they ran on and what the people of WI elected them to do--reduce runaway spending and the states $300 billion plus deficit. NO MORE LIES, NO MORE SMOKE SCREENS!
Look at those radicals fighting for their rights bargain government contracts Freaking "wet hippies" in their lavish designer outfits using their ivy league education to exercise their right petition the government. Why should taxpayers bailout teachers? Why are they so freaking special with their summers off running a muck god knows doing what-those greedy teachers.
Recall is under way for the 8 elgible senators and todays polls show 6 to 8 will be removed easily from office after the 60 day signature gathering takes place and only 3 slots are needed for the dmos to take back the senate. The governor will be first elgible for recall in January and polls show now 67% are opposed to him as he's been now exposed
Looks like the collective bargaining bill will just be reversed as the first order of business by the new majority. Thanks GOP for waking up DEMOS
with all the news about japan, the dems, the progressives and Micheal Moore with his handcuffs are not getting on tv or getting any attention. They are the big losers when it comes to tv coverage. how ironic that is.
If you believe we are a nation of laws, and that the Constitution is the foundation of our legal system, and you know that the Wisconsin Constitution clearly states that the people of Wisconsin have the right to enter the Capitol, and that the legislature may make make no laws prohibiting it, and that a court of law decided (just last week) the governor had issued an unconstitutional order to lock people out of the Capital, then you know who is right.
The problem is that the Tea Party is just an operation for corporate America and they do not care at all about the freedom and rights of the citizens of Wisconsin or any other state.
@mistacramer What does the Tea Party have to do with this? The people of WI elected Walker and gave the GOP a majority in the State House. If you're blaming the results of that election (i.e. Walker and GOP control of state govt.) on the Tea Party, then you're basically saying that the people of WI side with it and tehir Republican/Conservative principles (i.e. lower taxes/reduced spending). In other words, ur admitting that the TP is not a fringe group but basically the average American voter.
The Tea Party is just the corporatist/Big Business astroturf division of the Republican Party. Who is so stupid as to believe the TP is independent? I never said Walker was not elected by a majority of voters, although his recall is inevitable. He makes Gray Davis look like George Washington. Walker has illegally abused his position, used the nuclear option and conspired to strip people of their WI constitutional rights.
@mistacramer Pls explain ur empty rhetoric. Prove that the T.P. is big business. Glenn Beck held a T.P.-related rally in DC last summer and hundreds of thousands of everyday folks came. That's big business? It's Myth No. 1. How has Walker used his position illegally? The GOP held a LEGAL vote since the dems ILLEGALLY ran away from their duties. & how has he "conspired" to strip people of their rights? There is no right to collective bargaining in the US or WI constitutions. this is too easy.
You've never heard of the Koch Brothers or the Oil Industry's requiring of employees to protest at these staged TP events to appear like an organic political event? Walker's klan bypassed the legislative process to strip away rights of citizens & Beck is a shock jock demagogue & a multimillionaire pimping out gold scams to paranoid fools. Do you think corporations would resist engaging in propaganda if it resulted in the ability to do whatever they wish without legal consequences?
@mistacramer I personally know several people who attended Beck's gathering last summer in DC, and they are all regular folks who work hard at jobs in the private sector and contribute their share in taxes, rather than sucking at the govt. teat like you (most likely) and close to 1/3 of Americans do today, I am ashamed to say. In fact, one of them is a retired small business owner who is concerned for his the future of his grandchildren after seeing Obama trying to ruin our once great economy.
@mistacramer You are right. The Tea Party uses well meaning Americans for their own interests, largely funded by organizations representing the interests of wealthy Americans like Americans for Prosperity (Koch) and FreedomWorks (Dick Armey). They pit Americans against other Americans.
Well-meaning Americans complain about tax burden, which is the lowest since 1950! Their problem isn't tax burden, it's real income growth, a value they've earned through their increased productivity.
@InTheAtticLights1 There is no Constitutional right to deface or destroy public property. The facts: These "brave and patriotic" protesters are responsible $7.5 million in damages to the Capitol. I see your sweeping ideological puff piece conveniently glosses over that rather salient point.
@saxophile1 There are laws prohibiting destruction of public property and the police should enforce them by arresting the perpetrators. That is not what happened. These people were forcibly removed for being in the Capitol, a right enumerated in the state Constitution and upheld by a Wis court of law last week.
The number you cite, $7.5M in damage was claim made in court of law under penalty of perjury and it was baseless. The cost of cleaning tape residue is $350K. Protesters offer 2do it.
@InTheAtticLights1 Plus where r u getting ur bogus info? here r the facts: (from the Milwaukee Journal- Sentinel: "Cari Anne Renlund, chief legal counsel for the state Department of Administration, said in Dane County court that estimates of damage to marble includes $6 million to repair damaged marble inside the Capitol, $1 million for damage outside and $500,000 for costs to supervise the damage."
@saxophile1 This is exactly the kind of drivel argued by those who do not contribute their share but demand more and more from those who do in the form of wealth redistribution through higher taxes. Whether the estimate turns out to be high and the damages were $500,000 is irrelevant. The point is you admit these people were defacing the building and so they are vandals in the eyes of the law and should be removed. Name an instance where a Tea Party gathering resulted in millions in damages.
@saxophile1 $7.5 million in damages from tape on marble? LOL. Yeah and teachers make too much money..... Not the police or the fire department. They helped get Walker elected so they can keep their collective bargining rights.
Does anyone actually THINK or QUESTION what they read anymore?
@DarthKap Obviously you're not, and r getting ur info from far left blogs. The average unionized public sector worker in WI makes WAY more than the average private sector worker. The teachers in WI are well paid compared to many other states in the country and also compared to private sector workers in that state. & their top tier benefits have been provided free of charge. It's about time that they be expected to chip in for some of their health insurance like those in private industry have to.
@saxophile1 Corporations didn't exist when the Consitution was written. I'm not a fan of big goverment, but nor am I fan of corporations squeezing down the competition through laws to prevent the free market from working ethier.
Actually, we didn't have a Federal Reserve ethier.
@DarthKap This is pointless. it's over. the public unions lost & the people of Wisconsin won. but this victory whereby taxpayers finally have a seat at the table when it comes to public unions in their state was achieved last Nov & it just took 4 months for the consequences of that election to show. Walker & the GOP did exactly what they promised. So why the hissy fits? It's because libs dont like elections--they have to pretend theyre moderate & r always worried the folks will see through them.
@saxophile1 It's all over until a Democrat majority gets re-elected and then the teachers get their collective bargining rights back. Nothing will change until the system finally crashes.
This is all nothing more than a meaningless distraction.
@DarthKap No, I don't think so. The deficit WILL be reduced as a result & the states (& the WI taxpayer's) finances will improve. People usually vote according to their pocketbooks. Hence, BHO's approval plummeting since gas prices skyrocketed. But from our conversation it sounds like you don't totally understand the difference between public sector and private sector unions. and there is a HUGE difference. for starters google Rubicon: A River in Wisconsin by Chas Krauthammer in the Wash. Post.
@saxophile1 Those protests have huge numbers. That will equal votes. Wisconsin will become a poltiical minefield with recalls, re-elections, and court suits over this. I'm not really interested in the whole private, public debate because both sides toss numbers and figures to justify their political ideologies.
@saxophile1 There is also no right to privacy listed under the constitution either. I guess the gov can take a shit on our toilets when ever they please.
@saxophile1 It's in the United Nations' universal declaration of human rights, though...not in those exact words, but read Article 23. The language about workers uniting to protect their interests is all about bargaining rights.
Recall is already underway to remove 8 of the GOP senators elgible right now for recall and polls show 6-8 will be kicked out of office after the 60 day signature gathering period and the DEMOS only need 3 slots.
Looks like restoring collective bargaining bill will be the first bill on the agenda of the new senate. Walker can be recalled next January is when he is elgible and with 67% now opposed to him and his deceit, he will join the GOP ranks of the hasbeens and unknowns
@1911arthur what about the recall of the 14 treasonous dems? looks like a recall wash to me LOLOLOLOLOLOL "YOU LOST NOW GET TO THE BACK OF THE BUS" Obama quote
Oh really? Link me to it. I will literally delete my account if you can link me to a video Obama telling republicans to sit or get or do ANYTHING in "the back of the bus"
Not sure what I did that makes me a commie though. Or wait, do you just call everyone who disagrees with you a communist? Believe it or not, communists are not the only type of people who might find you to be factually coherent.
Last I checked, Walker was nothing more than a Koch brothers lapdog, which I'm sure you don't mind. You're obviously one of the 400 hundred who are benefiting from middle-class downsizing. Right, genius?
@whbon73 middle class was just enriched thanks to Walker ...they no longer need to pay union dues instant savings for 300,000 ...why do you hate Middle class Americans that you wish to steal their hard earned cash? Ohhh yeah you're a communist ...nevermind
Thanks TO Unions, laws were passed to ensure safe working conditions, livable wages and reasonable schedules, even for non-Union workers. This bill could be a step in the direction of returning us to the plight of 19th century textile workers. It's okay, though. As long as we coddle the top 1% and demand more sacrifices from the middle-class, we will not be mistaken for Communists.
@whbon73 hey idiot commie mouth piece ..grab a dictionary and look up the difference between public and private unions then get back to me .....and you are a commie progressive soo kinda late you have already been labeled.
@HangProgressives Hey, genius, why are you assuming I don't know the difference between public and private Unions? Are you going to claim you support private Unions?
And you ARE a hopeless tool. Even if you left your little right-wing bubble and were subjected to reality, it wouldn't help.
@HangProgressives Well, some public union workers educate our kids. How dare they!
During the 1950's, the height of the American Dream, more than 40% of the country's workforce, public and private combined, was Union. Now it's down to 7%. In the private sector, textile drivers are still represented by a union, but they'll probably get crushed, too. Welcome to Reagan's America where the rich get richer and fools like you make excuses for the failure of trickle-down economics.
@whbon73 and if Public unions and collective bargaining is soo great why is it Obama has 3 million employees without it? hmmmmmmm why are 22 right to work states thriving compared to those who dont? hmmmmm you have no aurguement just the commie union parroting talking points
@HangProgressives "3 million employees..." "22 right to work states..." Right, you haven't touched on a talking point or made a broad argument. No, your comments are much more elaborate than any others on YT. You also demonstrated your brilliance with the repeated phrase, "commie fuck." You're quite the witty one, indeed.
@whbon73 How is that hopey changey thing working out for ya?
still waiting for an answer ..ohhh yeah you have none....why are you not screaming at Obama for the harsh treatment and trampled rights of his 3 million public union workers?
Fact of the Matter is you are Commie loving union fuck who thinks has a right to other peopples money well those days are over "we the people" spoke you commie fucks lost so to quote Our Union Boss in Chief "you lost now get to the back "
@philip0460 awwwww back from your cirlce jerk with your other commie fuck buddies......it is a known fact you commie fucks HATE soap ....and OPEN WIDE! my sweaty "teabagging" balls need a licking .....fucking moron that gave us that name, didn't undersatnd that make you commie fucks the "TEABAGEE'S" LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL
You don't even know what a "commie" is you stupid ass mess! LOL I actually am not a communist. Please learn what words mean before you throw them out at people. You are a racist... and just from looking at your YouTube page, I'd day you have a problem with everyone that's not white, Christian etc. I can fit you for your hood now you low life teabagging moron LOLOL
Hope the libbies unions enjoy paying for all the damage and extra security, 'cuz they're getting the bill and will be forced to pay it. The idiocy on the left never ceases.
In the private sector unions must negotiate with management for their demands. But with public sector unions it's warped because "management" takes the form of a democratic governor or dem state officials who are historically in bed with unions which are their main campaign contributors. But this is not how it should be with monopoly service unions whose members are paid in tax dollars. Theyre true "management" are the people who pay their salaries and finally the people in WI said "enough."
ive been predicting this would happen in wis since 1997. 98% of wis state employees are worthless and couldnt last a week working at burger king. they spent all the money under that creepy douche bag james doyle and now the bill is due. wtf did you think was gonna happen you morons? send the crandin wis police to the riots. they murder girls that wont fuck them think what they would do to the rioters!

Sorry Union thugs of Wis. You bargained yourself into a unsustainable system. Now the Republicans must clean it up. Your Dem. representation ran in to hiding. Much in the same way Judas did.

Sp0ilTheFun 11 months ago
@Sp0ilTheFun Yes. Everyone that disagrees with you hates teachers. Also, collective bargaining is a constitutional right that your ancestors died for. And rich people don't provide Jobs or pay taxes. Michael Moore is a hero. And the Gov. of Wis. is a Nazi. Problem is you have lost on all of these points. Maybe it's time for a different approach My health care premium spiked 18% this year. I can't afford yours to. THIS IS WEIGHT OFF OF THE NON-UNION LABORERS BACKS! TODAYS UNIONS SUCK!
xantastic67 11 months ago
@xantastic67 You're claiming that teachers make a gross amount of money which is just a fox news talking point. You act as if the unions are just taking over the corporations and demanding money from the gov. But the truth is that the unions accepted the proposed pay cutts but taking away the right for the union to bargain is like saying "Fuck unions" because then they become worthless.
This is all political, destroy the unions = destroy democrat support.
Sp0ilTheFun 11 months ago
@Sp0ilTheFun Y'know what? I don't care if it IS all about "[destroying] Democrat support." In point of fact, there's far more to it than that, but it's very telling that you think it's sooo horrible for the GOP to try to undermine "Democrat support" inherent to unions. The vast majority of people, including liberals, even including union members, all say that it's UNETHICAL for unions to force dues from people and then spend it on the Lefty agenda. BANNING unions from that activity is GOOD.
canofsand 11 months ago
@canofsand It is all political, unions agreed to the pay cuts since the beginning. But republicans were after their right to organize, that is why they passed the bill without any financial provisions because all they want is to destroy the unions. If the governor actually wanted to balance the budget he would have raised taxes on the wealthy as he was advised by financial experts.
Sp0ilTheFun 11 months ago
@Sp0ilTheFun "right to organize"? Raising taxes on the wealthy as a solution? Trusting Leftist agenda-pushers and labeling them "experts," despite their "expert" advice totally backfiring in places like New York where it's been tried (the wealthy and their businesses move out, tax income goes DOWN)? It's like you're not even following along.
canofsand 11 months ago
@canofsand EXPERTS WITH FACTS AND DATA have said that raising taxes will help Wisconsin to close their gap. But I guess we should look to china for help right? Low taxes on corporations and the workers can go fuck themselves with 25cent an hour jobs.
Sp0ilTheFun 11 months ago
@Sp0ilTheFun EXPERTS WITH FACTS AND DATA have said that raising taxes is a short-term solution to a long-term problem. But let me guess, your experts and data are "better" than mine, because you agree with them.
canofsand 11 months ago
@canofsand And of course taking away the unions right to bargain is a long term solution. amrite? I guess I shouldn't be surprised, after all your base thinks that NPR is bankrupting America.

@Sp0ilTheFun Public unions aren't the same as private unions. Public should NOT have collective bargaining rights. It defeats the entire logic of the bargaining table when they can effectively control both sides of the table. Until this changed for purely political purposes, opposition to this so-called "right" was Democrat orthodoxy. Even FDR opposed it. (more)
canofsand 11 months ago
@Sp0ilTheFun (more) And not that you care about facts and honest debate, but the NPR jab was a straw man. No one's saying they're bankrupting us. Government-funding for that sort of outfit is simply wrong on principle, always has been.
canofsand 11 months ago
"The process of collective bargaining, as usually understood, cannot be transplanted into the public service." Yes, public workers may demand fair treatment, but "I want to emphasize my conviction that militant tactics have no place" in the public sector. "A strike of public employees manifests nothing less than an intent on their part to prevent or obstruct the operations of Government."
- Franklin Delano Roosevelt
canofsand 11 months ago
@canofsand Well im glad that you at least admitted that it was political. :)
Sp0ilTheFun 11 months ago
@Sp0ilTheFun Public sector collective bargaining being allowed in the FIRST PLACE is what was political. Getting rid of it is LOGICAL, MORAL, and in the long-term NECESSARY. Public sector unions are nothing but Progressive agenda-pushing political engines. Their ability to be such should be destroyed - no collective bargaining, no forced membership, no forced collection of dues, no ability to spend dues on politics in any fashion, no federal funding/bailouts/subsidies.

greymoose1000 11 months ago
@canofsand Unions were established to protect the common working man, to give them a voice. The only reason unions support Democrats is because Democrats support them. Big corporations pour in an enormous amount of money into republican campaigns and have had bailouts, i guess we should destroy them too?

canofsand 11 months ago
@Sp0ilTheFun The road to hell is paved with good intentions - not that it's even relevant that unions were ostensibly started with such "good intentions." Also utterly irrelevant is your "argument" about corporations. There's no comparison at all to be made between a privately-owned corporation doing what it wants to do and a union forcibly taking people's money and spending it on things they don't support. The fact that you can't see this shows us how intellectually dishonest and blind you are.
canofsand 11 months ago
@canofsand I see that you have no real understanding about how unions work.
Sp0ilTheFun 11 months ago
@Sp0ilTheFun I see that you have nothing of substance to add. Even most DEMOCRATS at least SAY they're against unions taking dues and giving them to political causes that some members don't support . In some states, even if you opt out of joining the union, you are FORCED to pay sizable fees to them! Face it: Big Labor is more of a leech on the American worker than Big Business (AKA those who GAVE YOU A JOB) can even dream of: You can always find another employer, but the Union is govt-enforced.
canofsand 11 months ago
@canofsand That doesn't even make any sense. Why would Democrats be against unions donating to political parties when they are some of their biggest donors. Not every state is a "Right-To-Work" state, that isn't even the issue we are discussing, if it was I would agree that you should have the choice to opt out of unions. People pay taxes, big corporations usually pay about 0%-6% of their taxes and get big subsidies. Not to mention that they are off-shoring jobs.
Sp0ilTheFun 11 months ago
@Sp0ilTheFun "Why would Democrats be against unions donating to political parties when they are some of their biggest donors."
If you're talking about the politicians, they aren't, but the ones that at least want to APPEAR like they're in tune with the American people, who are decidedly AGAINST scumbaggery like effectively FORCING members to donate to political causes they might not believe in, at least SAY they don't like this behavior. (more)
canofsand 10 months ago
@Sp0ilTheFun (more) What *actually* doesn't make sense is your babble about "right to work" states. Those are states where it's illegal to force people into unions, so all you've said is that people shouldn't be forced into unions... in states where they can't be. What?? So you're OK with FORCING people into unions in other states. Why should those people have fewer rights? Why should THEIR money be FORCED into Dems' pockets - other than the obvious: immoral, scummy, purely political reasons.

“Another means of silently lessening the inequality of property is to
exempt all from taxation below a certain point, and to tax the higher
portions of property in geometric progression as they rise”
~Thomas Jefferson (3rd President of the United States)
People making below $75K should pay NO income tax (as they already pay around 20% of income in other taxes)
And we must raise the taxes on the super-rich as many are now paying a lower tax rate than the middle class.
DillonDee1 11 months ago
@DillonDee1 A far more relevant quote:
“To compel a man to furnish funds for the propagation of ideas he disbelieves and abhors is sinful and tyrannical.” – Thomas Jefferson
And that's EXACTLY what unions do.

MacIver must be a bogus front group.
InTheAtticLights1 11 months ago
@InTheAtticLights1
The problem is that the Tea Party is just an operation for corporate America and they do not care at all about the freedom and rights of the citizens of Wisconsin or any other state.
mistacramer 11 months ago
@mistacramer What does the Tea Party have to do with this? The people of WI elected Walker and gave the GOP a majority in the State House. If you're blaming the results of that election (i.e. Walker and GOP control of state govt.) on the Tea Party, then you're basically saying that the people of WI side with it and tehir Republican/Conservative principles (i.e. lower taxes/reduced spending). In other words, ur admitting that the TP is not a fringe group but basically the average American voter.
saxophile1 11 months ago
@saxophile1
The Tea Party is just the corporatist/Big Business astroturf division of the Republican Party. Who is so stupid as to believe the TP is independent? I never said Walker was not elected by a majority of voters, although his recall is inevitable. He makes Gray Davis look like George Washington. Walker has illegally abused his position, used the nuclear option and conspired to strip people of their WI constitutional rights.
mistacramer 11 months ago
@mistacramer Pls explain ur empty rhetoric. Prove that the T.P. is big business. Glenn Beck held a T.P.-related rally in DC last summer and hundreds of thousands of everyday folks came. That's big business? It's Myth No. 1. How has Walker used his position illegally? The GOP held a LEGAL vote since the dems ILLEGALLY ran away from their duties. & how has he "conspired" to strip people of their rights? There is no right to collective bargaining in the US or WI constitutions. this is too easy.
saxophile1 11 months ago
@saxophile1
Do you think corporations would resist engaging in propaganda if it resulted in the ability to do whatever they wish without legal consequences?
mistacramer 11 months ago
@mistacramer I personally know several people who attended Beck's gathering last summer in DC, and they are all regular folks who work hard at jobs in the private sector and contribute their share in taxes, rather than sucking at the govt. teat like you (most likely) and close to 1/3 of Americans do today, I am ashamed to say. In fact, one of them is a retired small business owner who is concerned for his the future of his grandchildren after seeing Obama trying to ruin our once great economy.
saxophile1 11 months ago
@mistacramer You are right. The Tea Party uses well meaning Americans for their own interests, largely funded by organizations representing the interests of wealthy Americans like Americans for Prosperity (Koch) and FreedomWorks (Dick Armey). They pit Americans against other Americans.
Well-meaning Americans complain about tax burden, which is the lowest since 1950! Their problem isn't tax burden, it's real income growth, a value they've earned through their increased productivity.
InTheAtticLights1 11 months ago
@InTheAtticLights1 There is no Constitutional right to deface or destroy public property. The facts: These "brave and patriotic" protesters are responsible $7.5 million in damages to the Capitol. I see your sweeping ideological puff piece conveniently glosses over that rather salient point.
saxophile1 11 months ago
@saxophile1 There are laws prohibiting destruction of public property and the police should enforce them by arresting the perpetrators. That is not what happened. These people were forcibly removed for being in the Capitol, a right enumerated in the state Constitution and upheld by a Wis court of law last week.
The number you cite, $7.5M in damage was claim made in court of law under penalty of perjury and it was baseless. The cost of cleaning tape residue is $350K. Protesters offer 2do it.
InTheAtticLights1 11 months ago
@InTheAtticLights1 Plus where r u getting ur bogus info? here r the facts: (from the Milwaukee Journal- Sentinel: "Cari Anne Renlund, chief legal counsel for the state Department of Administration, said in Dane County court that estimates of damage to marble includes $6 million to repair damaged marble inside the Capitol, $1 million for damage outside and $500,000 for costs to supervise the damage."
saxophile1 11 months ago
@saxophile1 This is exactly the kind of drivel argued by those who do not contribute their share but demand more and more from those who do in the form of wealth redistribution through higher taxes. Whether the estimate turns out to be high and the damages were $500,000 is irrelevant. The point is you admit these people were defacing the building and so they are vandals in the eyes of the law and should be removed. Name an instance where a Tea Party gathering resulted in millions in damages.
saxophile1 11 months ago
@saxophile1 $7.5 million in damages from tape on marble? LOL. Yeah and teachers make too much money..... Not the police or the fire department. They helped get Walker elected so they can keep their collective bargining rights.
Does anyone actually THINK or QUESTION what they read anymore?
DarthKap 11 months ago
@DarthKap Obviously you're not, and r getting ur info from far left blogs. The average unionized public sector worker in WI makes WAY more than the average private sector worker. The teachers in WI are well paid compared to many other states in the country and also compared to private sector workers in that state. & their top tier benefits have been provided free of charge. It's about time that they be expected to chip in for some of their health insurance like those in private industry have to.
saxophile1 11 months ago
@DarthKap There's no such thing as a "right" to collective bargaining. There is no "right" to collective bargaining in the Constitution.

Actually, we didn't have a Federal Reserve ethier.
DarthKap 11 months ago
@DarthKap This is pointless. it's over. the public unions lost & the people of Wisconsin won. but this victory whereby taxpayers finally have a seat at the table when it comes to public unions in their state was achieved last Nov & it just took 4 months for the consequences of that election to show. Walker & the GOP did exactly what they promised. So why the hissy fits? It's because libs dont like elections--they have to pretend theyre moderate & r always worried the folks will see through them.
saxophile1 11 months ago
@saxophile1 It's all over until a Democrat majority gets re-elected and then the teachers get their collective bargining rights back. Nothing will change until the system finally crashes.
This is all nothing more than a meaningless distraction.
DarthKap 11 months ago
@DarthKap No, I don't think so. The deficit WILL be reduced as a result & the states (& the WI taxpayer's) finances will improve. People usually vote according to their pocketbooks. Hence, BHO's approval plummeting since gas prices skyrocketed. But from our conversation it sounds like you don't totally understand the difference between public sector and private sector unions. and there is a HUGE difference. for starters google Rubicon: A River in Wisconsin by Chas Krauthammer in the Wash. Post.
saxophile1 11 months ago
@saxophile1 Those protests have huge numbers. That will equal votes. Wisconsin will become a poltiical minefield with recalls, re-elections, and court suits over this. I'm not really interested in the whole private, public debate because both sides toss numbers and figures to justify their political ideologies.

During the 1950's, the height of the American Dream, more than 40% of the country's workforce, public and private combined, was Union. Now it's down to 7%. In the private sector, textile drivers are still represented by a union, but they'll probably get crushed, too. Hope the libbies unions enjoy paying for all the damage and extra security, 'cuz they're getting the bill and will be forced to pay it. The idiocy on the left never ceases.

Everyone should really watch: "Behold! Your Public Sector Unions at Work."
The libs may even get a clue to how wrong they've been all these years.
