  • I don't understand how they can believe that the earth will not be destroyed in light of

Rev 21:1 "Now I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away."

  • @jforsy01 Pastor Tim doesn't believe that and I don't believe that because the Greek word for "new" in that passage and every other passage that refers to the "new heaven" and "new earth" doesn't mean "new in space and time". The Greek word translated as "new" means "refreshed, unworn, unused, to return to its prior state".

  • @skellys3

What verses do you site for this and how do you resolve these?

Isa 34:4 All the host of heaven shall be dissolved, And the heavens shall be rolled up like a scroll

2Pe 3:10 the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up.

2Pe 3:12 the heavens will be dissolved, being on fire, and the elements will melt with fervent heat?

Mat 5:18, Mat 24:35 Heaven and earth will pass away

  • @jforsy01 What verses do I cite for this? No verses are required to be cited. I gave you the definition of the Greek word. How do you deal with the Greek word and what it means, in light of your view? Your view, that the current heavens and earth will be annihilated or cease to exist can't possibly be right in light of the meaning of the Greek word that is translated as "new".

  • is there any way to burn this to a cd? or dvd? my bible study group has had a few discussions on pre-tribulation rapture. The general concensus is that we will be lifted up before the tribulation. I do not agree.

  • @antb2u Look for Pastor Tim's website in the description (the answers in revelation one). You can watch the whole debate on there via streaming video or download all of the high quality files for yourself. Then you could burn those files on to a DVD.

  • I am having a hard time understanding Chuck Doughty. Not understanding his points but literally understanding what he is saying. I really wanted to hear his take on this, but will have to skip over his first 50 minutes a nd go to the rest. anyone else having this problem?

    looking forwad to part 2

  • @antb2u Chuck seems to have a "lisp" when he talks. I think that it is both hard to understand what he is saying and hard to understand his points. He seems to be "all over the place". He also seems to be "preaching" to the people listening, rather than "debating".

  • @skellys3 thank you so much. I thought it was just me. Being a babe in Christ and busy studying everything I can get my hands on, I appreciate that you sent this to me. Since my faith and beliefs are where Pastor Warners are, I was anxious to see maybe I had missed something or misunderstood something in my studies. I have never even heard of Amillennialism and do not know what that means. Do you know when the rest of this will be added?

In Praise, prayer & need of prayer antb2u

  • @antb2u No problem my friend. "Amillenialism" - "A" = negates, "millennialism" = one thousand years. In other words, they don't believe in a literal thousand year reign of Christ. They believe in a spiritual/figurative reign of Christ now, and from Heaven, not on Earth or in the future. They also believe that the final resting place of the saints is in a spiritual body (not a physical body) in Heaven and not on the New Earth/Jerusalem. I will upload the other ones as soon as I am able...
