Imagine what he must've said for her to be turned off in the middle of being turned on - "your feet are ugly" "I got 6 kids and a wife at home' "I'm gay" "I was in jail for murder" "I was in jail for check fraud" "I think I like your sister/brother/mom/aunt/Cousin James" "I was born a woman" "I recorded the whole thing and you'll be on youtube" "I have bedbugs" "I have an extra nipple" "the condom broke 10 minutes ago" "hurry up" "what's your name again" "I can't get hard" etc....
this takes me way back to my childhood and was one of my mom's favorite songs....i miss her (tears)...thanks for sharing...it definately took me back to a special place...
This song truly brings back more than just a memory a great song, easier times or good friends. It makes me long to be able to sit on your porch in the summer night and speak with all of your neighbors as they come and go. Yes that means you know them and they know you.
OMGGG!!!! I've heard this song before I just never knew the name of the group! I LOOVE this song b/c it's a JAM!!!! Soo...I'm a "youngster" and I LOOVE OLD SCHOOL music b/c I grew on OLD SCHOOL in which my father is a DJ and played all types of music! I remember seeing this album cover over my grandparents house in which my mom, her sisters, and brothers used to listen to this album and this group.
@wenhas1 That entire album was a classic. I wish motown or perhaps rhino records would consider re-releasing the lp with a few bonus tracks included from their other albums. That would be a real treat for all the high inergy fans and motown fans as well.
A timeless classic indeed my mother had this album heard it once-and to this cyan never get enough of hearing it-I am shocked that this song has not got more recognition than what it has.
OMG!!! I absolutely love the hell out of this song. I am too surprised that there have been no remakes. But which female group could do them, this song justice? Destiny's Child? (If they got together again). This is such a sexy song, the female lead would have to be equally sexy, and the background vocals have to be on point. Nope, can't think of another group.
I remember when these sisters were on soul train performing this song; there was only three because one of the girls mothers' did not bring her work permit. You talk about a performance, HOT, HOT, HOT. I thought at the time they were going to be bigger than the Supremes at Motown. Just Great.......AnthonyT2034
Are you freakin' kidding me?!?!? THIS SONG WAS THE SH*T!!! I can't believe I found this here! These girls were the baddest thing going at the time. I remember seeing them at grad night....'78 in Disneyland!! OMG!!
I wanted this song SO BAD back then.....but my parents said it was too sexual. Now i can listen to it all i want because of the internet and sites like Youtube! Justice is MINE!!!!!!
It would be great if there albums were released on CD. I remember Millie Jackson singing this song. I loved their version . They were suppose to be the next Supremes. He's A Pretender is another favorite
Had this on vinyl back in the 70's. Great music. If I remember correctly they were on Gordy Records (Barry Gordy) I liked the album cover as these ladies were easy to look at as well. Nothing better than female soul music!!
Takes me back to high school......this version should've been released on compact disc. Instead they always released the single version....Universal Motown, right this wrong! This is the version that everyone wants!
OMGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG! WTF?!!!!!!!!! YOUTUBE IS JUST DA DAGGONE BOMB! SOMEBODY POSTED THEM SOME "HIGH INERGY?!" OH LAWDDDDDDDDDDD.....I'M REALLY FIXEN TO JAM NOW! OMGGGG! THANKS POSTER! I TRULY HAVEN'T HEARD OR SEEN THIS GROUP SINCE ABOUT THE 11TH GRADE--NO SHAT!
This was the very first album that I owned. I begged my mother for it, and for Christmas in 1979 I received this album and a portable turntable. I had to put a nickei on the arm to keep it from skipping, but I was the happiest kid in the world. I played this album until it warped.
My sister had this album and played this song TO DEATH!! I know every nook and cranny. This song should have been a much bigger hit and i'm surprised no one has remade it.
I love this song. I remember when I was a little girl and I went to a pajama party. My sister and I sang this song during a singing contest and we won!! Memories!!!!
Absolutely fabulous song!! Thank you for posting tmontyb100012.

This was a wonderful song when it came out in 1977 on the Motown Label these ladies I think
where a background group should've made more songs.
