  • Absolutely fabulous song!! Thank you for posting tmontyb100012.

  • Imagine what he must've said for her to be turned off in the middle of being turned on - "your feet are ugly" "I got 6 kids and a wife at home' "I'm gay" "I was in jail for murder" "I was in jail for check fraud" "I think I like your sister/brother/mom/aunt/Cousin James" "I was born a woman" "I recorded the whole thing and you'll be on youtube" "I have bedbugs" "I have an extra nipple" "the condom broke 10 minutes ago" "hurry up" "what's your name again" "I can't get hard" etc....

  • a fav childhood song...reminds of my mom....thanks for sharing ;-)

  • It's from '77. i just looked it up.

  • What year is this from?

  • use to love these females

  • a song has true meanings to it! if you understand the words

  • NOW THAT'S SOU; MUSIC.

  • This was a wonderful song when it came out in 1977 on the Motown Label these ladies I think

where a background group should've made more songs.

  • this takes me way back to my childhood and was one of my mom's favorite songs....i miss her (tears)...thanks for sharing...it definately took me back to a special place...

  • the first album i ever purchased at 10 years old

  • Straight to the boner zone! Yeah...this was definitely on the playlist!

  • I remember seeing them on American Bandstand and my big sister running out to buy their album...yes album!

  • I remember when i use to DJ this song back in 83 or so and the hook use to be RED ALERT for my homie DJ Red Alert.

  • This song truly brings back more than just a memory a great song, easier times or good friends. It makes me long to be able to sit on your porch in the summer night and speak with all of your neighbors as they come and go. Yes that means you know them and they know you.

  • brings tears to my eyes......i loved this so much as a little girl!!!!

  • Always have been......Always will be a JAM!!!

  • OMGGG!!!! I've heard this song before I just never knew the name of the group! I LOOVE this song b/c it's a JAM!!!! Soo...I'm a "youngster" and I LOOVE OLD SCHOOL music b/c I grew on OLD SCHOOL in which my father is a DJ and played all types of music! I remember seeing this album cover over my grandparents house in which my mom, her sisters, and brothers used to listen to this album and this group.

  • This is the song. I want to remake this.

  • Whoa.... forgot all about this song. good memories. thanks Tim!

  • Yesssssss

  • THEY NEED TO BE ON THE NEXT UNSUNG!!! OMG THIS GROUP IS THE BOMB!!!

  • don't tease me now

    please, please me now

you can't turn me off not in the middle of turning me on!!!!! WOW love it

  • I had this album back in the day, played it all the time one of my favorite!

  • @wenhas1 That entire album was a classic. I wish motown or perhaps rhino records would consider re-releasing the lp with a few bonus tracks included from their other albums. That would be a real treat for all the high inergy fans and motown fans as well.

  • Fantastic,i still love this 35 years later,5 stars xx

  • i didn't know i still remembered all the words to this song...

  • There is never a need - nor a reason - to remake a good song!

Thanks for posting. A classic is a classic!

  • lol they probably dont know about it lmao it was the bomb High energy hes a pretender lol they just stop after that motown mess alot of artist up

  • Dang this is my song wow!!

  • I'm surprised no one has covered this tune either.

Maybe Glee will give it to Amber!

  • I am glad this was posted ;D

  • My aunt's fav song til this very day

  • Love this song!!!!!

  • Use to play the mess out of this when I had it on 8-Track, went through about 2 of them:-)

  • A timeless classic indeed my mother had this album heard it once-and to this cyan never get enough of hearing it-I am shocked that this song has not got more recognition than what it has.

  • OMG!!! I absolutely love the hell out of this song. I am too surprised that there have been no remakes. But which female group could do them, this song justice? Destiny's Child? (If they got together again). This is such a sexy song, the female lead would have to be equally sexy, and the background vocals have to be on point. Nope, can't think of another group.

  • Love this song been looking all over for it. Thanks for the post!

  • I remember when these sisters were on soul train performing this song; there was only three because one of the girls mothers' did not bring her work permit. You talk about a performance, HOT, HOT, HOT. I thought at the time they were going to be bigger than the Supremes at Motown. Just Great.......AnthonyT2034

  • Are you freakin' kidding me?!?!? THIS SONG WAS THE SH*T!!! I can't believe I found this here! These girls were the baddest thing going at the time. I remember seeing them at grad night....'78 in Disneyland!! OMG!!

  • The girls hit #12 in Billboard, 12-24-77. God bless ya, for postin' the album version. Thanx for doin' that!

  • This song popped in my head. Had to hear the long version. This group was the blueprint for En Vogue and Destiny Child.

  • I wanted this song SO BAD back then.....but my parents said it was too sexual. Now i can listen to it all i want because of the internet and sites like Youtube! Justice is MINE!!!!!!

  • if ya love me like i love you then ya do like i tell ya to. then we can go straight to the stars!!!

  • It would be great if there albums were released on CD. I remember Millie Jackson singing this song. I loved their version . They were suppose to be the next Supremes. He's A Pretender is another favorite

  • I was attending P.S 156 in The Bronx near Yankee Stadium when this came out. My moms had this on 45. Now I have this added to my vinyl collection.

  • This is a cut.

  • Had this on vinyl back in the 70's. Great music. If I remember correctly they were on Gordy Records (Barry Gordy) I liked the album cover as these ladies were easy to look at as well. Nothing better than female soul music!!

  • sang ladies !

  • Great song, back to high school. Thanks for published. Grettings from Argentina.

  • If anyone ever "dislikes" this...I WILL HUNT YOU DOWN!!!

  • Takes me back to high school......this version should've been released on compact disc. Instead they always released the single version....Universal Motown, right this wrong! This is the version that everyone wants!

  • @tljones9 I was also in high school when this gem hit the airwaves. I agree with you: I prefer this version.

  • Yeah this track is an unrewarded classic.... maybe Maysa ought to work on it with the folks at Shanachie Records........ Thank U ,,,,,,,,,, Love It

  • I have been looking for this GREAT SONG!!!!!!!! Thanks for the post :)

  • i still have the album.Oh my God, this baby makin song in the days. Great song!

  • OMGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG! WTF?!!!!!!!!! YOUTUBE IS JUST DA DAGGONE BOMB! SOMEBODY POSTED THEM SOME "HIGH INERGY?!" OH LAWDDDDDDDDDDD.....I'M REALLY FIXEN TO JAM NOW! OMGGGG! THANKS POSTER! I TRULY HAVEN'T HEARD OR SEEN THIS GROUP SINCE ABOUT THE 11TH GRADE--NO SHAT!

  • @alareauxfilms LMAOOOOoooo

  • This was the very first album that I owned. I begged my mother for it, and for Christmas in 1979 I received this album and a portable turntable. I had to put a nickei on the arm to keep it from skipping, but I was the happiest kid in the world. I played this album until it warped.

  • @uneekmin Great story!

  • My sister had this album and played this song TO DEATH!! I know every nook and cranny. This song should have been a much bigger hit and i'm surprised no one has remade it.

  • @datboi251975 This song was a big hit in 1977. It did chart very well #2 R&B, #12 Pop hits on both Billboard's Pop and R&B charts.

  • @datboi251975 - actually Millie Jackson did a remake of this, and though I'm a fan of Millie's High Inergy nailed it....so far.

  • @datboi251975

lol, wonder if my little sis feels the same way?

  • @datboi251975

Let's thank GOD that nobody has re made it : )

  • @ESSENCEOFEACHTHING You can say that again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

  • awwww, sookie-sookie, now!!...break it on down, ya'll.!
