If I had to pick an AC song that sounds like this one it would for sure be My Girls. AC is legendary due to the range of emotions and topics that they have been able to master but Yawn seems to be going for a more happy and warm feeling overall. It will be great to see them progress through future albums and see if they are able to have as masterful of a discography as Animal Collective.

its funny that everyone compares them to AC. i saw them live and i also thought of animal collective. Totally a good thing! cos its not exactly but its that kind of style and we need more awesome bands like that!! <3

I tried to convince myself that this band wasn't trying to be animal collective in every way but the ac lyrics at the end just kinda solidified it for me. Good catchy song, but some originality would do these guys some good. I think these guys have potential

@jz335ch they've been compared to AC several times and the reason for the impromptu Grass lyrics in the end are more of a joke about that. if you really listen to the EP it goes in many directions, some ACish and some Vamp Weekendish, but I dont see them being animal collective in EVERY way. thats just stretching it. (ps what ac song does kind of guy remind you of? i cant think of one)

@huesomachine I agree with you, I've listened to the EP a bit and they certainly do take it in a different directions, and I actually wasn't aware that the grass lyrics were supposed to be a joke. Are you a band member or a friend of theirs or something btw? I'm just curious how you know that the grass lyrics were a joke on that. Finally, Kind of Guy doesn't remind me of a particular AC song, but certainly the drums are reminiscent Sung Tongs and Feels, and the vocal harmonies DEFINITELY...

@huesomachine (continued from last post)... reminiscent of the harmonies on Sung Tongs e.g. Leaf House or Who Could Win. I'm not saying that they're copying AC completely, and saying "in every way" was an exaggeration, but they undeniably take a lot of influence from the animal
