  • You started very well,man!

  • I stumbled on this video looking for a Neil Young tune and then Wow, that was great!. You're Hired!!!

  • @bones5300 Good!! Thank you...

When can I start and does it cover medical?? :-)

  • @unclealbert72 if you played at a local bar around my area i'd bring all my friends. You sing and play a stunning Neil Young... throw in a hands-free harmonica and i'd even pay a cover... I even posted this video on my FB page i liked it that much. 13000 hits 54 likes and 0 dislikes should tell you that your talents are something to be proud of and with a voice like that someone will pay your medical! Best of luck.

  • @bones5300 This is the nicest comment I've ever received.

    Thank you very much, really.

  • you are good dude, keep on rockin' in the free world brother.

  • @rja81 Thanks man, you too!

  • what is even more impressive than your vocals and playing,is the guitar is upsidedown and still hitting the chords perfectly awesome bro!

  • @raja14ful Thank you very much!

  • @keylago220 Thanks for the compilment!

  • Nice job I enjoyed listening...keep on picking brother!

  • @sb2244 Thank you for listening!

  • I'm looking for a good 6 string acoustic. Would you recomend a Martin d1?

  • @jpstrat90 Yes, most definitely... They run a little over $1000, sometimes a little cheaper and it actually plays a little better than the my Martin you hear and see on this video.

  • A GREAT, GREAT COVER OF PROBABLY ONE OF THE MOST ICONIC NEIL YOUNG SONGS OF ALL TIME. IT MOVED ME.

  • @BAYER1956 Those are truly kind words, thank you very much and I'm glad you liked it.

  • Very good.

  • Well done brother, and a classic to boot :)

  • @GreekCanadianMe Thank you!

  • Amazing dexterity playing a right handed strung guitar left handed.

I learned to play the song this weekend and now I watching many youtube videos to see how others are playing the song. Your version defintiely ranks as one of the best.

Very good vocal matching also. You could probably give Neil a run for his money.

  • @Virtual4fun Thank you very much for your very kind comments.

It's always been one of my favorite songs to play and always will be.

    Thanks again for listening!

    -Cheers~

  • @BassPlayer316i That means alot... thank you!

  • do you mount the strings in reverse order when you play lefty like this? Excellent by the way...one of my favorite songs.

    The Meltdownman

  • @meltdownman1 ... Thanks! I don't.

The strings are still set up for a right hander.

  • Nice voice. Nice vocal phrasing. I also love that you play upside down & backwards -that C chord looks really cool!

  • @derfilmmacher ...Thank you for your positive comments!

  • Wow, bang on man, it's rare that a cover becomes so enjoyable and seeing the guitar upside down is mind blowing. I will return for more. Love it.

  • @newfsareus ....thank you for the really nice comments! Hope you have a Happy New Year.

  • I just stumbled across your videos today. You have a great voice and your playing is excellent! Keep up the great work!!

  • fantastic... and even up side down... great singing too...!

  • @r0n01 ...thank you!

  • i can find an accurate tab please help love this song

  • @TheSlevaslava ....I'm sorry, I cannot provide tabs for this.

Simply because I don't know how!

I can't read any sheet music of any kind.

However, I can let you know that I'm tuned down a whole step from concert pitch.

The chords are G, D4th sus, C, Dm, and F....not in that order.

I hope this helps a little bit.

    -Cheers

  • @unclealbert72 thanks

  • @TheSlevaslava ...Sure thing!

  • Excellent job young man.

  • Awesome job!

  • Very pleasant, dude. Listened all evening. thanks.

  • @vcx9dfne ...Thanks man.

  • Are you tuned down to an Eb? It sounds like you tuned it down.

  • @jimmnjam ...I am, probably just slightly lower than Eb.

Alot of early Neil's acoustic material was dropped down on his Martin D-28...

  • @MrDcwashington ....That means alot...much thanks!

  • Wow, this just knocks me out. Captures the spirit of the song, without trying to imitate Neil Young. Really like your style!

  • @theladywriter ... thank you very much...always such a joy to hear such wonderful comments....stay tuned from more!

  • Wow, this just knocks me out! Beautiful voice, deft playing. You've captured the spirit of Neil Young's writing of the song, you're not just trying to sound like him. Wonderful stuff!

  • Nice Man! Especially left handed. Very nice voice.

  • I'm a lefty too... but I'm a wimp and play with a lefty guitar :P

  • @rranger1014 , I was really trying to capture how fragile this song really is.

Thank you again and so glad you like it!

  • It falls like raindrops

  • With a thrust

  • Bravo!

  • Many thanks!

  • You are the only left-handed guitarist I've seen that doesn't restring the top to bottom with the exception of surf-guitarist Dick Dale. Sounds great and vocals awseome. check out my band freeverse/secret mission or freeverse/sylvie

  • Wow man you nailed this one. Beautiful rendition, Neil Young would be very proud to hear it.

  • Thank you very much.

I really hope he or one of his management associates does hear this sometime.

That would mean the world to me.

  • I want to commend you on your beautiful rendition of this song. Your skills are extraordinary. I had tears in my eyes after I listened to it. Any musician who can bring out those kind of emotions is top notch in my book. Keep up the good work, OK? :)

  • Very kind words...thank you.

  • You are most welcome..:) Any other favorite songs you would like to cover? Post em' soon! :)

  • Very nice! :)

  • Thank you!

  • Excellent cover of this song. Great song and great voice. the upside down guitar playing is interesting. I read your answer as to why you play that way. I was looking for the older version that was recorded live and couldn't find it anymore when I found your cover. The one that I was looking for is my favorite, I think it was recorded in the sixties. Thanks for posting.

  • Thanks for you kind comments txfireman440.

Neil's version was recorded in 1968.

That version and the rest of that show is now out on C.D. called,

"Neil Young - Live At Canterbury House"

    It's worth owning.

Before that, you can only find this song on the album "Decade".

    Thanks for listening!

  • How the right hand is trained to finger in the unconventional method is astonishing! WOWW!

  • I truly appreciated your voice and guitar...very moving

  • Thank you Becky...very kind of you.

  • Wow who knew I was working with such tallent! Would love to hear more.

  • very nice job man. really nice voice you have. Ah, to be able to sing! Long live Neil

  • Thanks Tony for your kind comments!

  • Beautiful singing, and the upside down fingering is fascinating to watch - I think Jimi Hendrix played like that, one reason why he came up with things other guitarists wouldn't have naturally found.

  • Thanks alot Dan.

Hendrix did play like this at first but eventually switched the saddle and the nut to the left handed setting.

    Same with McCartney.

They both came up with several amazing things that others couldn't tap into.

  • Hey there, you haven't lost your touch! Better than ever!

Brings back a lot of memories! Hope to see more,

    Love, Mom

  • Sounds great...keep em coming.

  • Thanks plectrum34...nice to be aboard the YouTube train.

  • Great choice with a Neil Young song. You have amazing talent, smooth guitar work and wonderfully melodic voice leaving one wanting more including your mystery face. Looking forward to the next selection! Excellent! :)

  • Hey Man! Thanks for lettin' me know about this. Nice job! You're wasting your time @ your dayjob. Now put up Overkill.

  • lol...a side order of "Overkill" coming up.

  • How kind of you.

    Thank you for your comments.

I get asked alot how I play the way I do.

I picked up my mother's guitar which was strung right handed...simply flipped it over and played in this position ever since.

I never had a desire to learn it the right way.

No such thing as the right way really,

It's what made me happy and comfortable.

I look forward to posting more.

    Thank you.

  • Dude that was choice great voice excellent guitar work sweet sound. how do you play like that? post more!.

  • WOW!!!!!! You are wonderful, I love the cover of Neil Young. Do you cover anyone else? Do you have any originals? Keep posting, you are what You Tube needs!
