  • Nice kicking but I wana see were the ball landed and how much hang time it had

  • This is great, I know this video was posted a long time ago, but if he has not improved on his stutter step kicking then that should be his #1 prioritie. But good video and I hope he succeeds

  • I wanna be a kicker next year. I played soccer my whole life with my friends but my negative is that I weigh 300lbs maybe less or more

  • @tashtan1 Thank you for watching our son's clip. Our son is 6'2" weighs 185 lbs. When he was a Jr in HS he dead weight lifted 400lbs. So he isn't a wimpy little kicker. I seen a lot HS kicker who were heavier than my son. They did a lot of the power kicking. (kick offs) You're in HS once....go for it. Wish you much success. Subscribe to my page so you can get updates of his college kicking.

  • @tashtan1: Then do it. I was about 265 and played place kicker and since my school was so small I had to play linebacker too. Play wherever you're needed and wherever you can help your team.

  • wow hes just like me, i can kick a 60 yard punt right now and getting better, and im gona be a sophmore next year

  • @jigsawltbvids Awesome. I'm so glad you are doing well. Keep it up.

  • Great video thanks for posting. One piece of construction criticism is your son's steps. I believe he could dramatically improve with a one, two step instead of a stutter step. This could greatly improve his distance on place kicks.

  • @MoonUnitProduction Thanks for your helpful remarks. He doesn't have a problem with distance. Adjusting from HS to college size goal post has been his biggest issue. College goals are 4'10" more narrow than HS. Since he only played 2 season of HS then he earned the starting kicking positon as a Freshman college kicker...he had to learn fast. He got 23/25 PATS but his field goals were 9/18 with the longest being 42 yds. He's got a lot of practice time and things to learn. Again thanks.

  • dude you kick exactly like mee haha except likeim 13 and you kick farther than me...by alot

  • @haloman471 Thank you for watching our son's clip. I wish you the best in your kicking.

  • the music makes these guys look like a bunch of homos.

  • @decade03 Thanks for watching the clip.

  • You must be very proude to have a son with a heck of a leg like that ! =)

  • @123ElTri Thanks for watching. We are very proud. But we would be proud regardless of how far he kicks. He's been a good boy to raise. He will always be the Best HS Kicker to his family. :)

  • interesting number for a kicker

  • @franzferdinand094 That's his number in College as well.

  • hes awesome at kickoffs but he hooks his leg to much on field goals . i play soccer and i had to fix that too when i kick field goals

  • @LeAndrohalfmexi Thank you for watching our son's clip. And thanks for the helpful comment. Yes, he's having to learn to adjust that now that he's in college and the goals are 4'10" more narrow. He kicked two seasons in high school. His HS record was 8/12. Longest being 50 yds. Freshman yr of college and 4 games he's 5/9 longest made 37 yds. Longest attempt 44 and you're right he was too wide by about a foot.

  • @dmgodfrey yup. wow thats good! so hes a better kicker on kickoffs than a field goal kicker?

  • @LeAndrohalfmexi I agree. But to his defense, if he should need any, it pretty touch to be in your third season kicking a football and it happens to be in the college level. He's tallented enough that he will adjust. I have a feeling the end of the season will have a much better percentage. And Lord willing, next year he'll be more prepared and ready to go. Again thank you for your positive comments.

  • good kicking, and you are very nice

  • @fletcherdilmore Thank you for you kind comment. And thank you for taking the time to watch our son's clip.

  • your son is good but he needs to work on his field goal steps. If he did that in college hed get blocked. His steps are all off. He could use heigh on his field goal but hes good on kickoffs. But yeah he needs work on his steps and timing in field goals. But all in all he has alot of potential. I played soccer till my sophomore year i was premier and odp but had a temper problem. But now i kick in college on a full ride. And most people who kick in college get scholarships sophomore year

  • @Believeinthegold Thank you for watching our son's clip. He does now kick in college. He's a true freshman and in two games he's 4-4 on PATs.

  • it looks like your son has potential. But this clip sucks. you cant even see the ball and where it lands. Sure he can kick it far on kick offs but his form is horrible. There is not height on his pats. even as a junior he should never hit the cross bar. I think you should change the title to average kicker or even below average kicker.

  • @bradg629 Thank you for watching our son's clip. I appreciate your opinion. I recorded this clip from the stands. And since this was his 3rd football game, EVER, I think he did above average.

  • he has a leg! but he needs to drill his technique bigtime. Im a kicker class of 2012. and im kickin the same distance but i drilled technique to get there. more height on fieldgoals and you need to go faster on them as well. if u go that slow in college you will have everyone blocked.

  • @janicemilstid Thank you for watching our son's clip. He is a true freshman in college and he is continueing to improve. Thank you for your comments. So far 3 field goal attempts....no blocks.

  • @dmgodfrey where does he go to college?

HE looks like he has a heck of a leg on him!

  • @Operation60again He's kicking for Tennessee State University.

  • im sorry ur son didnt get a full ride on kicking, maybe he should of kick the ball in the endzone on kickoffs and have some height on his extra points

  • @AppleS0ft He got tuittion paid first year and a full ride for the next 3 years. And 92% of his kick offs went in the endzone or even through the uprights. He does need to more height on his extra points, true. But at this clip, this was the 3rd game he had ever kicked in his life. It's pretty good to have only football for two seasons and get any kinds of scholarship. Had he not played around his freshman year...his GPA would have been better. The ONLY reason he didn't get a full ride.

  • Our son is a kicker/punter too. It takes a lot of practice and dedication. I know you are proud of him.

  • Thanks for looking at his clip. Our son's Jr yr was the first time he'd kicked or even touched a football. It was fun to watch him do his best and excite the team and fans. God bless your son. I wish him the best.

  • wow is tecqniqe sucks!!!!!!!

  • @Premiersoccerstud2 Thank you for looking at our son's clip.

  • So school is out... where is he going???

  • @b4bill Lord willing he will be kicking for Tennessee State in Nashville.

  • @dmgodfrey best of luck to him...

  • Good luck to your son!! My son played soccer his whole life and B-ball, and in his senior year of HS he kicked for the football team. His GPA wasn't that great but he worked his butt off to get it up there. He did get a free ride into college, and got a great education. He's on youtube under rob zarrilli. I think your son would enjoy his videos. :)

  • I appreciate you sharing your son's story with us. I did show him Rob's clip. Thank you for watching our son's clip. God bless.

  • you stink jk

  • Haha, thanks

  • Comment removed

  • I'm glad you are able to kick so well.

  • Has he gotten interest from colleges? if so, which ones? Good luck in the future!! Great music!

  • Thank you for watching the clip. There have been 5 SEC look at him. No offers because his GPA isn't high enough. A few D1 AA school are highly interested.

  • Looks like you're one of those parents that pushed their son to do better in sports than in academics..

  • I will have to differ with you Camman152. I am the kind of parent that allowed my son to play sports because that's an area where he shows his gifts and talents. But education has been a top priority. So much so that we kept him in private education till 10th grade. We put him in the public school for many reasons.

  • One of them was to learn some life lessons before going to college. Out of the many life lessons to learn before leaving the safely of your home...was to work HARD on school first. Instead of working as a bag boy earning $100/wk. Why not get paid while going to school 8-10 hrs/day. He could earn more money through a scholarship than he could working in a community business 15-20 hrs/wk.

  • We told him he could go to college with a full ride for sports but he would have to keep his GPA high. He thought he could go on his talent. We reminded him that gone were those days. sure enough...5 SEC colleges considered him but with no scholarship. He could be a walk on. Momma can't go to college and remind him to do his work. Work hard now or work harder later. His GPA right now is 2.5. SEC wants 3.0 or 4.0.

  • @dmgodfrey Gone are those days? ha some of the top football prospects in the country now going to college or the NFL did horrible in school, Antonio Cromartie reportedly had a .8-1.9 GPA in high school (He also scored a 12 on the wonderlic) but he got a full ride to Florida State and now hes in the NFL making millions. Colleges don't care about grades if your top prospect talent. The football players just take the easy minimum classes.

  • @Ravn23459 Thank you for your insight. That just wasn't our experience. We wish our son worked more in his education. He was pretty lazy about that area. His GPA ended 2.5. Should have and could have been higher. But we are, nontheless, very proud of him. Thank you for looking at his clip.

  • You are a very good kicker you just need to work on a follow through with your leg right now it looks terrible the more extension you hve with your leg the more height and distance you going to get with your kicks.

  • Thank you for looking at our son's clip. We appreciate your helpful comments.

  • You've got to be a good kicker to go into college. I saw a kicker at my hometown, but wasn't playing for our team. He missed a 26 yarder. Some college kickers can kick 60 yarders

  • Thank you for watching my son's clip. He did kick a 60 during practice this past season. He made two 50 yds in a game. Have a good day.

  • mcminn central right?

  • Yes, have you been to one of the games?

  • Defiantly not the best kicker in Tennessee...17-19 on extra points is terrible. if he wants to go to college you have to be 100% for extra points. But he is good at kicking off

  • @ichhasserap I appreciate you looking at our son's clip. I also appreciate your feedback. Keep in mind that this was his very first time kicking a football. Period. I mean not even at home. So 17-19 is pretty good.

  • Then I take what i said back. If he pursues kicking he will be very good. I also am a kicker and kicked for varsity my first ever year of kicking a ball. What is his longest field goal?

  • @ichhasserap His second season,2009, was his Senior year. He kicked and made two 50 yards. He attempted a 57 yard and it was long enough just too wide.

  • Comment removed

  • what kind of tee does he use

  • He doesn't use a tee for field goals or PATs. He uses a round tee for kick offs.

  • Zach Sharp. Best kicker in tennesseee.

    GO MARYVILLE!!

  • congrates to Zach.

  • wow he really does have serious talent i hope he does go pro then whos payin the bills???

  • Thank you. We just hope he goes to college. :)

  • nothing on zack sharp

  • congrates on Zack's great season.

  • REALLY good kicker!

check out my vids see what you think. btut im a freshman

    /watch?v=yWtXYwJN9Fg

    /watch?v=GiatA_SglEI&NR=1

  • what school is this? I LOVE HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL and live in Powell. It looks like a school i know. but that doesn't look like east tennessee @ all. ha ha

  • 50 miles south of Knoxville.

  • haha ok. it's not gibbs lol sounds like you play red bank??????? they're gonna win state i think in 4A.

  • No McMinn Central a 3A school.

  • yea i heard of them your son does a good kix. (Go titans)

    thanx for replying

  • wow, he's a great kicker. I like his kickoffs but on his field goals he seems to studder step a little but hey, whatever works for him is good and as long as he makes his kicks he shouldnt change his rhythm. im 13 and the longest kick ive ever made in a game is 39 yards, ive been a kicker for 5 years now and ive never changed the way i kick. but i wouldnt be surprised to see him in a big college and maybe even pro someday. good luck!

  • Thank you for looking at my son's clip. I wish you the best in your kicking. He has a lot of fun. He's gotten better this year. This clip was of his 3rd game he's ever played in football.

  • Wow great kicker!

  • Thank you so much.

  • just try and get him to work on his follow through and maybe flexibility. he's got leg strength but if he brings his kicking leg up higher he'll get more height and power when he kicks. but stick with it. he's pretty dang good. haha

  • Thank you for looking at my son's clip. Thanks for the positive remarks.

  • yea hes good. but its whatev, there are alot of kickers that you don't know about that are as good or even better than your son, i kick for my school and i can make a 55 yrd field goal and i play soccer but its whatev all i have 2 say is ur son is a good kicker just like alot of guys out there

  • I know there are many better kickers. But I will personally always favor my own son as your parents would you. I wish you well in a career in kicking. Thanks for watching the clip.

  • hey man your a good kicker dont worry about the follow threw every kicker has his on style.... hey iam a sophmore in high school and have a long of 51 can you tell me what grade colleges start looking kickers........... and hey please look and my videos and comment or any body else that intrested

  • Thank you so much for your kind remarks. Our son never touched a football until the spring before his Jr. year in HS. Being a good strong soccer player...is how he developed his kicking power. Since he didn't start playing until his Jr year, I'm not sure if colleges would have looked sooner. But from our understanding...colleges start to take a more serious look in the Jr. year. They are not suppose to talk to you. Your coaches may let you know which scouts are at your games. God Bless

  • he has NO follow through, which is bad

  • I don't know what a "correct" follow would be. But at the end of the day....the points on the board is all that matters. He finished his first season scoring 52 points.

  • hurdle up and through the ball

  • Wow, really nice kickoffs, this is the second time I've watched this video, and it's even more impressive the second time around.

  • Thank you for watching our son's clip. I also enjoy rewatching his video. But I tend to highly favor him. :) It's okay if a parent is proud.

  • Read it again...He said he is a Junior IN high school...

  • Thank you for watching the clip. Thanks for helping to clarify. :)

  • if hes 16 why is he in junior high?

  • haha Jr in High School. He turned 17 the end of high school football season.

  • no not in jr high a jr in high school

  • im not saying hes bad but i am a jr high kicker in 8th grade and i kicked it about 60 yards off the tee...remember im not saying hes bad, hes amazing

  • Thank you so much for watching my son's clip. I wish you well in your kicking.

  • by looking at his xtra points theres no way he kicks a 55yard field goal, nor can he kick a 70 yd kick off because he had no hurdle after he would kick...try taking bigger steps on field goals!!!

  • thank you for watching my son's clip. He's made a 58 yd field goal at practice this year. And he has kicked many 70 yd kick offs.

  • He's good but as others said he needs better form, if you would like him to go to a good camp check out Chris Sailer camps. They are regarded as the top in the nation. Keep sending out film and attend a LOT of camps. Not just 2 or 3. As a senior he should also attend college's camps, even if not invited. As a senior I'll go to 20-25 camps if I haven't committed yet. And he's not the best in Tennesse sorry, there are many more better than him like Forbes Harris and Nick Pollard.

  • thank you for your help. He has a lot to improve. Keep in mind this clip is of his 3rd game of the season. And this was his first season ever kicking a football.

  • that explains it

  • im a freshman in phs and i kick 65 yard (kick off )

  • Congrates. We're learning that hang time is equally as if not more important than distance. keep up the good work.

  • extra points are piss easy

  • hes big for a kicker

  • Hey look at my video, and tell me the truth if i'm good enough for D1 college or if i'm not its all good ,i just want to know because if i go into the Navy i want to try out for kicker.

  • its from playin all that soccer. lol

  • Lots and Lots of soccer.

  • ya hes kicking with his toe. Im a senior in HS and a kicker.

  • Thank you for looking at our son's clip. My son kicks on the inside left foot, closer to his big toe...not exactly in the middle.

  • he is fuckin lazy every time he kick it in the kickoff he doesn't realy run if he goes to the NFL devin hester would score evrytime

  • 1. please reframe from bad language in your comment. You can say he's lazy and i'd get the point just the same. 2. He didn't need to run because the kick off are past the endzone. In high school a kick off going in the endzone is a dead ball. The offensive team has the ball on the 20. And 3. Thank you for looking at our son's clip.

  • Kids Good. Just Needs A Better Technique.... Instead Of Toe Kicking.

I Play For Jenks, Ok... And I'm The Kicker.

  • Thank you for looking at our son's kicking clip. He doesn't kick with his toe. He uses the inside of his left foot. I wish you well with your kicking game.

  • im 14, ive played soccer my whole life. i just started trying kicker with week. i found out i can do a 50 yard feild goal with out any training lol

  • it doesn't show how far he kicked the ball on the kickoffs so you can't say he's good

  • thank you for watching the video. Not all the kick offs show the end result, but because all the players stop running to cover the runner...it's obvious the ball land in or beyond the endzone.

  • haha shut up

this kid is awesome, look at some of his clips you can see... he's pretty freaking good

  • WOW kicking a extra point is realy hard hell No man and it doesn't even show how far he kicked it because he's to afraid to show it because every kickoff they only show him kicking it and not how far he kicked it because the camera always goes up and it's only a 2 star video

  • look at his first kick off

"dmgodfrey" dont worry, your son is very good

On another note though, hopefully his upcoming videos will be with a more stable camera =)

  • jesus hes good best in the usa i play with the champions and i think we play this team

  • Kicking in football is a lot like shooting a 3-pointer in basketball.

A lot of people can do it, and do it very well, but not everyone can do it with a quick release against huge defenders.

I know so many kids that can kick a ball a ton, but don't have the technique nor capability of kicking a ball with height, hangtime, and power on a consistent basis.

  • Thank you watching my son's video. Thank you for your helpful commit. This video was early in the season, like game 3 out of 10 regular season games. He did make some improvements on his hang time as the year progressed. He did get his kicks to a 4 sec hang time and still maintain the distance. Thank you.

  • Not 4 second hang

  • Strong leg, but he is not a soccer -style kicker, he kicks with his toe. Could be a problem if he kicks in college. I would try to convert him to true soccer style.

  • I do appreciate you watching our son's football highlights. Thank you for your suggestions. Just for clarity, #42 does NOT kick with his toe. He uses the upper inside of his left foot. Also keep in mind is was the first time he's kicked a football. I'm sure he'll make some improvements this season.

  • i agree..being a toe kicker is a disadvantage for a kicker college...more power ..less accuracy..

  • yall aint got shit on me i hit 55 and im 16 wassup

  • He kicked a 55 yd field goal at age 16 as well. Good job to you and I wish you well.

  • Yeah hes.. not flexible at all. Just has a big leg like when you see linemen doing kickoffs while playing teams that have no designated kickers

  • He kicks this way because of his soccer experience. Hopefully with additional training he'll improve on some of his techniques.

  • well i like it...

i think youre son is pretty good, and nice from a dad to put a vid together for his son..wish my would...:P

    well i think he´ll do great next season,great job video 5 *

  • Thank you for your kind remarks. We enjoy watching our son play any sport. There's been a highlite tape done of him, when I get it I'll post it as well. Have a great day.

  • He couldn't get it over the crossbar on an extra point and his kickoffs are 60 yards because most of the time the ball was placed on the 40 in your video. He only kicked xpt's and thats it! Trust me I know what I am talking about I am the same age as your son and to create a video for your son to get some exsposure show him hitting 45yards field goals instead of extra points and kickoffs

  • Thank you for you helpful remarks. This was a clip of 1 game out of 11. This game didn't have a field goal opportunity. The score was 55-0. He missed 1 xpt out 8 in just this game. His season ended with him scoring 52 points in 11 games. He made 3 field goals. One was 44 yds in the rain. Second was 34 yds to win the game by 2 points with 1 minute left in the game.

  • The third was 46 yards. One field goal was 48 yards, but due to a roughing the kicker call, the points were taken off and the team scored a touch down. And in High School he has to kick off from the 40.

  • We have someone else who has made a video of him kicking. I do not intend to send this clip to a college. This clip is just from a parent that enjoys watching my son play ball. Have a good day.

  • needs some technique work, but he is young which is a plus. if your looking for a camp to send him to, one of the best on the east coast is called 4th down sports. They have their high shcool camp for kickers at UVA. that will help him with his technique tremendously. Some of the negatives I see in him is that on his field goals his follow through is stopping short, he would get so much more power if he uses his entire body to kick the ball not just his leg. also get him more flexible.

  • Thank you for your helpful comments. We are looking at 2-3 camps for this year. It's hard to imagine him with more power, but we know it's possible. Again thank you and have a blessed day.

  • Thank you for your kind remarks. My son is a soccer player. His soccer experiences is why he kicks straight on. He's learning as he goes. Try to attend as many kicking camps as possible. I wish you the best.

  • He reminds me alot of myself. I can't kick as far on kickoffs. But I can hit 55-60 yard field goals with pretty damn good height. I just started a few weeks ago.

  • Thank you for watching my clip. I wish you well with your kicking game.

  • hes not terrible its just he needs alot more height on his field goals to go anywhere big and kickoffs remember hes needs quite a bit of height on them too because 70 yds is just goaline in college just relaying from a fellow college kicker i was doing 65 with a 4.4 hangtime of kickoffs and 70plus wiht a 4.1 they said they would rather have the 4.4 second hangtime jus saying

  • thank you for your helpful remarks. Most of his kick offs did have a 4 sec. hang time. In practice he'd kick from the 30 and he was still kicking them in the endzone. This was his first year kicking a football. He's had to learn a lot this year. Again thanks.

  • You are a proud father and should be! Good luck to both you and your son in the recruiting process. It can be difficult!

  • Good kicker, what impressed me the most is that when he kicked his PAT, He didn't put to much power into it, it looked like all leg, and he still kicked the crap out of it. I wouldn't LSU getting this kid, cause Colt David is gone after this 2008 season

  • Thank you for watching my son kick. This was his first year kicking football. He's always played soccer. He thought he'd give football a try.

  • does he kick on a tea or off the ground

  • He kicks off the ground.

  • cool

  • LOL.Thats my kicking number...

  • 42 is a good number. Thanks for viewing the clip. Have good day.

  • did he kick anything past 20 yards on field goals?

  • This clip doesn't show any field goals. They were all extra point kicks. He's made a 48, 44 in the rain, and a 34 yard for a game winning field goal. This season the team scored 5-8 touch downs most games. There wasn't many opportunities for field goals. Thank you for watching.

  • Horrible technique on his 20 yard PATs; too much cross swing and pulling of his shoulder. Have him dig the heel of his plant foot into the ground, keep his shoulder in, and head over the ball. Should add 10 yards or so to his kicks. no follow through and incredibly slow approach. Just a tip from the top kicker in Florida. =)

  • I appreciate your constructive help. I will pass this on to my son and to his kicking coach, who just volunters to help the team. My son has always played soccer. His kicking style shows that. This season was his first experience with a football. Next season he'll be a senior and Lord willing we'll put him a kicking camp this summer. Should see some technique improvements. In spite of his methods the season ended with 46/48 extra points. Thank you for taking the time to watch the clip.

  • i hope he breaks that leg

  • Why would say such a terrible thing about a player? You don't have to like his kicking, but there's no reason to wish misfortune on him or anyone.

  • was just kidding. He's a good kicker for his age. Wish i was that good

  • I appreciate you taking the time to explain yourself. I plan to upload a clip of him picking up a high snap punt and run it for a first down. I just haven't had time. I wish you well. God bless

  • And congrats on a good job of 42 points.

  • yeah definetely...i ended mine with 42 soo im almost there!! lol i know hes only Jr. but has he had letters sent to him from colleges and stuff? Scholarships?

  • No letters yet. Several different schools watched him play. He was nominated in Mr. Football, kicker catagory, for the State of TN. No word as to who actually won. He is new in football. Not too many people heard of him. This was the first time he's ever played, or even kicked a football.

  • give him some props imma HS kicker as well and he got a strong leg..for a lefty none the least...nice job 42!!

  • I do appreciate your positive post. I'll pass your message on to my son, #42. He ended his first season with 52 points. That's a lot of points for a kicker.

  • this is horrible. is this a joke? are there any kids hittin' 4.0 second hang time on kick offs in tennessee? this has gotta be a joke. the best kicker in tennessee. watch out SEC? what should the SEC conference watch out for? a line drive that might take someone's helmet off?

  • Thank you for your opinion. We think he a ver good kicker. 43/46 extra points, 51/57 kickoffs go in or beyound the end zone, 3 kick offs could have gone through the goal. Not bad for a first time kicker. The school's regular season ended with a 9-1 record. SEC? Kentucky, UT, FL Gators, and also Alabama State have come to watch him kick.

  • make him go to UT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
