What would be so cool is that if someone got a deep sea video camera, temporary attached it to the forehead area of a adult sperm whale and get footage of the deep. It would have to spent the footage to a satiate and back to a computer to analyze. And when that is done the glue dissolves leaving the whale unharmed and us with more information on sperm whales and how they feed. Please like so National Geographic will try this out.

It becomes heavy as it solidifies and basically drags the whale down to the abyss to hunt for squid. So because of the spermaceti, you get Sperm Whale.

Believe it or not, it's name does have the same root asthe word "sperm".

Sperm whales have an oily substance inside their skull, called Spermaceti, meaning "seed" and "head", and they are thus named.

This oil has two known functions: It becomes denser as it gets colder, making it easier for the whales to dive literally miles down. Also, it acts as a focusing chamber for the whale´s voice, so it can use the sound beam as a weapon when hunting squid.
