Is there some fundamental principle of American government that I don't understand? Really. Is there?
How can the defeat of the bailout be the fault of the Democrats when they voted mostly in favour of it and the Republicans overwhelmingly against it?
If Ms. Pelosi's speech (good btw) truly had an effect on the vote, wouldn't it be the Democrats who responded to it?
Shouldn't the Republicans be backing their party?
Any thoughts to clear this up would be appreciated.
TIA,
Confused
