Eh, it's a good ground attack aircraft, there's no doubt in that, but I wouldn't send it up against Me109s. It's why they put a gunner on the thing, they got dropped like crazy by any fighter that discovered "Hey, that flying tank is fucking up our ground forces."

Correction: Me109s with pilots that have heard of the term "Lead Pursuit and deflection shooting."

Not hating, just saying it has its purpose and shouldn't go outside of it.

Personally, I dislike the Il-2 because of vulnerability and slow speed. I prefer the Tempest and P-47 for ground attack.

Speed si for B&Z, TURN is for dogfights, noob.

And Il2 can be flyed like a fighter in DogF. I know a comrade that do this and fuck all what are near, at hist 12 or 6... no matter!!

And for FW lovers-> 23mm make fast the job that a 30mm... more accuracy, I can take easy a 400m-500m enemy with a "bad convergence"

It has its purposes. I prefer the IL2 when I'm doing tankbusting because it is durable, has good firepower and can do almost anything you want it do to. Although I wouldn't use it as a fighter. La-5s and Me-109s can do that.

Great video, I agree probably the best aircraft overall on the agme and probably of the war F4U Corsairs come close though. You missed out it the fact it can take an amazing amount of damage before you have to bail out too... I've flown miles on one and a half wings, no rudder or a tailplane missing, when flying against them they are hard to knock out fo the sky, a close in burst of 20mm Cannon fire from the 109's or 190's does the trick, but you have to avoid the fire coming back to get close.

they aren't stationary planes they are regular AI planes that just haven't taken off yet; to add them you simply set a plane for take off and target your carrier
