I honestly don't remember and there is no difference in the final quality. May be BlackMagic quality is slightly better, but you can't see the difference after YouTube HD processing, which degrades the quality significantly.

@kmach - Don't believe developers. They are paid to tell such things. It's a part of their jobs. I'm a PS3 fan, but honestly, my 2-year old PC can produce much better graphics quality, which runs smoother. But of course - Uncharted 2 is one of the kind and it's worth every penny.

I only use free VirtualDub to capture / cut / subtitle / compress the footage. Nothing else is needed. If I need more sophisticated edit (very rare), I use Pinnacle Studio 12 Ultra or Corel Videostudio Pro X2.

One warning though - this card will eat your hard drive space. If you are capturing at 720p, you can capture up to 10 hours on 1TB drive. At 1080i - up to 5 hours, using hardware MPJEG compression. I use external raid array to capture videos.

It's a very good piece of hardware. But of course it will use one of your PCI-E slots. There is another capture card, which is external. But it can only capture from component source, it doesn't have any HDMI inputs/outputs. It's Hauppauge HD-PVR 1212. I ordered it and waiting for delivery. I saw that other card in action and it's very good. It has H.264 hardware compression, so it doesn't need so much storage space.

I think that either choice is good.

Very good question. Currently - I play my PS3 games in computer desktop screen (the same monitor). I can resize it all I want, make it full screen, it's very flexible. You can capture while browsing the internet on the computer, etc. I'm talking about the BlackMagic though.

I don't know if it's possible with HD-PVR 1212, because it uses USB connection to the PC... Hmmm... I will have to read more about it.

Also how do you do that re-size thing, it sounds really helpful instead of having to switch my HDMI cord every time I want to go on the pc or xbox, I have an extra DVI cord so I should be able to hook up the PC to the monitor with that.

You do the resize thing like you resize all your applications in windows. It's just another windows application - VirtualDub in Capture/Preview Mode. If you press Alt-Enter, you have the full-screen. If you like, I can e-mail you few screenshots of my desktop when BlackMagic is running, to give you better idea.

And please make sure that your HDMI XBOX output is not encrypted with HDCP like in PS3, because in this case you will only have to use Component outputs, not HDMI.
