For those who didn't get the Bilko gag, the character played by Sheridan Smith here is called 'Joey Ross.' In the US TV series 'Bilko', the character of Ritzik was played by the actor Joe E. Ross. So when introduced to her here, Jonathan replies 'I loved you as Ritzik in Sgt. Bilko'.

Love it love it love it. I didn't think this would work with Sheridan because everyone misses Caroline Quentin. However it really does!! Keep them coming Mr Renwick!! Excellent work and excellent choice! I didn't rate Julia Sawalha though! The episodes were good but she didn't suit the position with Jonathan at all. Caroline Quentin was the buisness!!:)

i watched the new year episode and was quite disappointed. i thought the new 1 was not as good as the old 1z and i didnt think Sheridan Smith was as good as caroline quentin but having said all this i still enjoyed it as jonathan creek is always good make more plz

I could drive a bus through the holes in the plot of this episode! how on earth did jonathan and that blond bint have such a repartez on their first meeting? - it's like they'd known each other for years. Also, what qualified her to be snooping around like a bloody detective everywhere? would have enjoyed an hour episode a lot more.

The true plot hole is the murder weapon - there's no way it could work in real life. They must have lost some of the original writers, cos it was pretty rubbish.

the 1st point i agree with it doesnt make much sense. But the whole point about the other 7 is the trap was so cleverly hidden that every1 believed it was the spirits and not murder.

I know what you are saying but the police in the matter of missing persons don't generaly leave things because there might be "ghostly goings on"! Could have been covered slightly by having a flashback of a policeman investigating the room then running out screaming and never talking again. Also the 3d porn was a bit unnecessary.
