This recording has offered me an intense moment. Beautiful performance, spotless, pure. She danced effortlessly. Nor Ivette Chauvire, Sylvie Guillen or Feijoo has come close to this graceful display of bravura and elegance. So sorry she is now away, in the unattainable dimension that we call heaven. I am sure she is now dancing over the clouds, surrounded by angelical dancers.

Beautiful and moving. Those dancers gave Cuba's Ballet its great name. Pity that except for some great male dancers, there are no artists like Alonso, Mendez, Pla, Rosario Suarez, or Lorena Feijo left in today's Cuban ballet.

gracias a Alicia tambien por frustrar y mutilar la creatividad de muchos bailarines y coreografos, Ailicia la Divina atócrata del ballet Nacional. Ella ha sido la encargada de llevar el castrismo al ballet bajo la batuta de Alicia mucha gloria e intolerancia.

omg mirta pla, josefina mendez, loypa araujo, aurora boch, orlando salgado, jorge esquivel... all those great cuban dancers. i have the chance to view the national cuban ballet at my city, monterrey méxico, around 19976 or 77. and i have to say viewing them, was what made me love classic ballet as much as i do now. thanks for this art.

Mirta Pla es en mi parecer la joya de mas quilates de las "4 JOYAS". En cualquier parte del mundo hubiera sido una primerísima figura y creado un nombre internacional. Su baile llevaba total equilibrio de técnica, interpretación, buen gusto, sencillez y virtuosismo. La escuela cubana estaba muy bien representada con ella y después de Alicia pienso que ella y Rosario Suárez son las dos bailarinas de mas personalidad, originalidad y perfección. Las otras eran excelentes, estas dos geniales!

Jorge era muy joven aun, y todavia no habia alcanzado su madurez como partner, pero creo que estuvo muy bien, yo pienso que este PDD no es de Varna, sino de Hungria, en los early 60's. En esa gira bailaron Giselle y Lago con rotundo exito, si mal no recuerdo.

Mirta Pla was so beautiful and such a lovely dancer!!! WOW!! What a great loss. If she left Cuba earlier, she would have had a greater career, I am sure.

For Esquivel, I don't think he is supporting her well enough here in couple of instances, though.

Gracias a estas bailarinas se empezo a definir una escuela cubana de ballet y el mundo de la critica empezo a reconocer es "estilo" cubano como una nueva escuela emergente. Eso es algo increible. Estara por ahi el Adagio de la Rosa del 30 o el 20 (no estoy seguro) aniversario de su debut artistico? Me gustaria tanto verlo otra vez. Tan bella Mirta, que dios te tenga en la gloria.

Yes, thank you very much for this, I love it!!! I find Ms. Pla the most special of the 4 Jewels... utterly feminine and lovely. I feel that under the directorship of Alicia Alonso, she did not have the opportunity to really have a career that she deserved (as many other female ballerinas in Cuba), but especially Ms. Pla. I feel very sad about that.

By the way, where can I find this film, is there a VHS or DVD of this somewhere?

mirta pla tuvo una gracia increible, de hecho para mí es la bailarina cubana mas carismática de todos los tiempos.

esquivel era muy fuerte y ágil de piernas,excelente partenaire.

en fin bailarines de la escuela cubana de ballet -sin querer ser chauvinista pero siendolo- los mejores...

The most difficult competition to medal. Clean lines,brio in the batterie and turns...All with style and charm as it should be. R.I.P Prima Ballerina.
