Just so you all know: Forward facing Blue lights ARE legal in NY State. I'm a voluteer firefighter and we run blue lights in NY, and one of the Squad trucks in the FDNY have a blue light also

@TheDonmaster99 Actually, fire-police are the ones with front facing blue lights. FDNY squad 18 has one single front facing blue light, maybe the law overlooked that. But the law says that now, you can have blue to the rear only. Police included. Maybe one day, they will allow it to the front.

However, since most states in the US use blue as a police color, some departments in NY put blue on their cars along with red to reinforce to the out-of-staters that they are the police and not the fire dept. Plus I think thats an FBI car

@sipdufs2006 i agree, unmarked cars in the uk typically have two in the front grill, two in the sun visors ( only visible if they are down), two on the back and sometimes a LED bar on the back, it sounds like alot but the lights are small and only really visable in the dark...

No matter where they are located, they are still very bright and noticeable. You can never have too many lights. The number one rule is Office Safety.
