  • This Song will always remind me of Sunshine Plaza in Disney's California Adventures!

  • A great version that ranks alongside those of Richie Havens and Ramblin' Jack Elliot. But, you can't whack Jesse Fuller's original.

I love the kazoo too. Of course it had been used in the bordellos of New Orleans for jazz and in the streets of Memphis by the jug bands for donkeys years, mainly cuz the were so much cheaper than a sax. I just use one to make a noise.

  • Great..RWB

  • easy to forget that there was a time

when Mary looked pretty damn good!

  • oh... that Was fun! Didn't Know the song went back this far...First time I heard it was Clapton's ,,, what a marvelous tune.

  • Great rendition of San Francisco Bay Blues! Too bad half the audience was brain dead. Much better kazoo work than in Eric Clapton's version of this song, but Eric's has more of the same sounds that Jesse Fuller created (solo!) in his original version of this classic.

  • Was Mary Travers or was she not the most beautiful blonde nymph in the folk music scene in the 60s? I was crazy about her!!

  • love this song. yesterday i got brothers four's records and crazy for them, especially "sanfrancisco bay blues","rock island line","this land is your land",and "we shall overcome"...

    then,what should be the next?

  • Always enjoy watching PPM have fun on stage

  • I get such a kick out of the fact that they use kazoos. Maybe this just means that Idon't listen to the right kinds of music, but Peter, Paul and Mary are the only group I've ever heard that uses kazoos!

  • @ gamgee87,

LOL. Yeah. Like all kids we used to use Kazoos and have a blast.

I have not played one in YEARS !!! They are fun.

  • @gamgee87 If you like the kazoo, listen to Don Partridge or Ralph McTell. They do exactly this kinda music.

  • @gamgee87 Eric Clapton also uses kazoos in his acoustic album (which was recorded live in concert), Uplugged....his is also a great rendition.

  • Mary was mud wrestler for many yrs when she was discov ered singing by the great Lou Costello

  • @ BrokenneckYgor,

    Really?

    LOL. That is funny!

That is a rather drastic change in careers !!! hee hee

  • @BrokenneckYgor .Where'd ya get that piece of information?

  • @BrokenneckYgor Awww ... now, that's funny!!!!

  • @BrokenneckYgor omg that like the funniest thing ive ever heard in my life.......... hahahahaha

  • @BrokenneckYgor And that's how rumours are started...

  • i have this on a much more better quality =)

The complete show of 1965 and 1966

  • @julianmartan So upload it then. We all need a special treat now tht Mary is gone R I P.

  • This song is so much fun. Kazoos are great. Give one to a friend a play a duet!

    Thanks PPM and Jesse Fuller.

    Cheers,

    Spang

  • One of the greats!

Like the post from Kyran...was in love with Mary since the 60s.

Luckily, got to tell her in person about 5 years ago.

  • @tubecheese I envy you, my friend. I will always regret that I never got to see them perform live. They never performed in Ireland ( the origin of all good folk music, and Riverdance!)

  • These three are the coolest people that ever lived on Earth, haha. Beyond awesome.

  • awsome song. love it

  • Cool version

  • I like Mungo Jerry's version better

  • Thanks so much for uploading this great video!

  • Mary was unquestionably the most beautiful singer of her time R.I.P

  • Agreed!

    Thanks for your thoughts!

These are / were beautiful people.

  • I was in love with Mary for about 45 years but unfortunately, I never got the chance to tell her! I hope the 2 guys continue. I think an album featuring some of the great female singers of her time could be GREAT ( J. Mitchell, Melanie, Judy Collins, Joan Baez et al!~) Whaddya think??

  • @cschoon1213 And I mean physically beautiful! She could have been the MOST beautiful "Rose of Tralee" had she ever taken part! Might even have been Miss America... Stunning.

  • This is great!
