I saw a similar picture of that funnel of number 3 that was taken in Moran looking towards Abilene. I believe it was number three that i spotted above my house i could be wrong though since that storm did spawn quite a few funnels from what i have been told. It looked similar as it was from an angle like that and kept forming downwards then thinning out and going back up thickening and come back down. It looks a bit different when you are looking strait up instead of from the side though.

I watched the Abilene one form from a cloud with rotation to a funnel right over my house i was staring strait up then ran to the cellar with the dogs once my sis got my handicapped nephew down the stairs. It was really starting to dip down when i ran for it luckily the storm moved fast and the funnel couldn't decide if it wanted to touch down or not until it got out of town. Those were taken from North East of Abilene weren't they?

They actually judge if it's a Tornado by the damage on the ground. The cloud being drawn down inside the funnel has nothing to do with it being a tornado touchdown. These were tornadoes.
