@sirjobanderas Leave a male and female pikachu (or one ditto) at the daycare together to breed to get Pichu. Capturing running pokemon is a long and harsh battle. but the damage u do carries over, so hurt them with a fast pokemon, then chase again and pokeball them until they submit. having a fast pokemon with sleep inducing moves will help a lot. i wouldn't even bother with them until after pokemon league, but you can catch them before that if you plan right and are lucky enough.

actually they based Gary off of Blue. Blue is from the managa (books) which came before the anime (show) that is why they resemble and have the same pokemon. the same thing goes for Ash. they based him off of Red

Put it this way: Red and Blue are characters from the GAME. Red and Blue from the MANGA are based off Red and Blue from the GAME. Ash and Gary from the ANIME are based off Red and Blue from the GAME, not the MANGA. Blue the gym leader and Red on top of Mt. Silver are from the Generation I games, making a return, not from the manga OR the anime.

Actually the reason why they call Ash and Gary, Red and Blue (green in japan) is to pay homage to the original Red and Blue that came out and plus the manga didn't come out till a few years after the release of G/S/C so this game didnt have much to do with the manga since it didnt exist at the time of the games release. Also like Madden11221 said due to the popularity of the anime they call blue gary and red Ash and so do i =D

In the US, Blue and Green were switched, since Blue was the paired game of red in the initial release, not Green like in Japan. So in the ENGLISH manga, Green is the girl, and Blue is the rival boy, same with the games.

It's like this. Gary is the anime counterpart, and Blue is the game counterpart. But they're not the exact same person. If they were, why WOULDN'T they name him Gary in the game? Plus, Blue and Gary did lots of different things from each other. Blue became a champion then gym leader, Gary became a Pokemon researcher.

Besides, Red doesn't even look that much like Ash anymore. You gotta remember that Pokemon is a video game franchise. The game came first. Ash is based off Red, same goes for Gary being based off Blue.

I doubt GameFreak would change a character's name and just expect the player to know who they "really" are. If the anime never existed, would you ever think that their names where Ash and Gary? No. And it's thanks to the game's popularity that the anime exists in the first place.
