  • that's some mighty fine tremolo picking.

  • @McNutz88 Greg Kot in his Wilco book.

  • @pbarr54 Great great Book, and Tweedy shredded his jazzy little heart out. True facts.

  • @McNutz88 Well since Tweedy played the solos on the album, and Cline is imitating them, I'd say no.

  • @pbarr54 please sir, present your sources.

  • Glen looks like he's having a lot of fun at the end.

I'm not really into that Wilco and this is great, Nels Cline is an amazing guitarist.

  • Yaaaaahhhhhhoooo

  • Just discovered this song from recycledlovesongs and BEWARE, it's like meth--try it once and you are ADDICTED FOR LIFE.

  • This song makes me feel good everytime I play it!

  • @McNutz88, these are, indeed, brilliant musicians. amazing, amazing writers and performers.

  • Ahhhhhhhh

  • this song makes me feel so cozy :D

  • Nels Cline is so underrated. It's just sick. It's like he uses his guitar to have sex with my ears... And I love it.

  • @McNutz88 not just you. he is.

  • °¤,¸(☯‿☯)♥♪♫•*¨*•.¸¸❤¸¸.•*¨*•♫♪♪♫•*¨*•.

  • @smythwaldron well said! I concur!

  • I am continually amazed at how wonderful a band Wilco is. And it's not like they have a few good songs or a few good albums -- they are consistently fantastic.

  • This is a great tune

  • This is the softest, hardest, most beautiful, most ugly, and most dynamic song I've ever heard. Wilco is an amazing band...the best one touring today as far as I can tell. This cracked the top 5 most influential songs to me on my music blog

  • @DesjardinsMusic Yes, and on a good set of surround speakers, it is truly, magnificently euphoric.

  • Thing song is EPIC as is WILCO. I LOVE THEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Their show on South Beach this year @ the Fillmore was freaking UNBELIEVABLE!!!

  • fuckin great!!!

  • nels cline is a hack guitar player

  • @nvalidscreename he's probably better than you'll ever imagine to be

  • I honestly think this is the song that got me sitting down listening to music again

  • Nels!

  • yes, yes nels cline is the best guitar player of all time

  • after seeing this band play , this wasnt there best. Still, it was great for being in the beginning ...with the new set up . dudes tone is amazing , you can tell glen likes his shit but needs more time ......so all in all , this should of been done a bit later in the mix , still cool

  • Smiles....I am new to drinking the koolaid. I love this song though. The guitar work is excellent! What a house party this must have been!

  • Is it just me, or is Wilco the greatest fucking band of all time?

  • BLAND?! HA! you are a fucking moron if you think this is bland. thats just wrong. what are you doing watching wilco videos anyways you worthless fuck, shouldnt you be watching Kanye West or something.

  • Haaaa kanye west...good one lmao

  • @McNutz88 Give the guy a break. I get it. Wilco's one of my favorite bands; I interviewed them a few years ago. When I first heard them, though, I thought they were bland too. My dad played them for me and I said they were boring. They're one of my favorites now. Just give them time.

  • You are a fucking idiot.

  • Go jump into a bottomless abyss wile your at it!

  • It is not just you

  • Nah... it's not just you... they're the bestt! :o)

  • @McNutz88 THANK YOU

  • YES!

  • @McNutz88 .. Nope, they definitely are the greatest fucking band of all time

  • Wilco amazes me over and over and over. I keep expecting them to let me down. Like "ok this is the album where they are going to loose it and i will have to start not liking them" But nope. They bastards just keep being awesome haha. Love this song.

  • holy shit never heard this version, nels cline never ceases to amaze!

  • is it just me, or is Nels Cline the greatest fucking guitar player of all time?

  • Yes

  • He just might be. Certainly living...

  • @McNutz88 YES!

  • @McNutz88 laughing in agreement!!!

  • @McNutz88 no trey anastasio is

  • @lizeduslapedus Trey blows dogs for quarters.

  • @McNutz88 Apparently he isnt because Jeff Tweedy actually writes and plays all those guitar parts on the album....

  • @robotdrawer Whats Nels Cline does with the song is vastly different from the album version, its undeniably his style, its easy to hear if your familiar with clines previous works. Jeff Tweedy is an amazing, wonderful musician, but Nels cline is a guitar god on par with Hendrix.

  • @McNutz88 not just you. I feel so lucky to have seen him preform his own stuff live in a seattle record store a few years back.

  • @McNutz88 lol you have the two highest rated comments, both of which are pretty much teh same thing :D

  • @nelson3300 i know right, i feel so special :D

  • They always have beautiful guitars and amps....but that isn't important. Beautiful strange music....

  • this is the best version by FAR! amazing guitar solo at the end. the Kicking Television one is great but it just dosent have the same perfect notes that this one has. have to keep listening to this over and over

  • I love where the synth comes in at 3:30

  • I have to listen to this album more, i'm so int YHF at the moment though.

  • one of the best bands

  • Mr. Nels Cline is a genius. I am so glad he is in the band. His guitar solo at the end is the best.

  • I came.

  • This is the best performance ever

  • i saw tweedy in concert by himself earlier this year...awesome.

he played Spiders (Kidsmoke) acoustic if you could picture that...

  • Stunning music. Can't shake a sound like this for days.

  • wilco is my second favorite band behind radiohead

  • my sentiments exactly.

  • great band. they should get more recognition then they do. bad music out there like the jonas brothers and miley citrus or whatever her name is. im 14 and i appreciate real music like this

  • ZMOG! 4:46 was a twist for the better!

  • Reminds me of college age depression...

  • so weird that you would write this...as a sophomore in college at Indiana a few years back I discovered this album and I specifically remember being in a very bad place and this song exploding in my head like full-blown technicolor.

i wouldn't go as far as saying that this is my favorite song of all time, but it's damn close.

however, i've seen them in concert twice and they haven't played this track...dang.

  • Yeah, I saw them the end of my freshman year at penn state supporting the yankee hotel album and they played this song before a ghost was born came out. Great memories.

  • ive got a bootleg somewhere on cd of the whole psu concert, if anyone wants it message me.

  • im from indiana as well. in mexico city now so i probably wont see them here. but when this came out it pulled me through some really tough times, just like elliott. and actually my best friend died that summer in a tragic accident, we were supposed to go see ween. i wrote them and they played his favorite song for him. good guys.all bands, elliott, wilco, ween.

  • they do play it on Kicking Television, though.

  • yea

  • Good Lord, Nels is such a fooking badass...

  • Amazing seeing them in a living room!! Really makes their music more instant. Immediate. They've been on such big stages since this line-up took shape, I'd love to see more of them like this. Makes them feel like a 90's band with a home made video. Even makes the song bigger. One of Nils' best solos. Can't wait to see them in June.

  • Goes well with "Company in my BacK" "Hummingbird" & "One by One" for sure. Tweedy is John Lennon reincarnated. Best band out there in my humble opinion.

  • Mine too. :) Best band since the Beatles.

  • in a certain way you are right... unbelievable, yesterday I was coming back home with a friend of mine, Beatles' fan too, and we had the same impression while listening to this song ("hummingbird" reminds me much more of Paul, in particular the violin part) THANKS WILCO!!

  • in my humble opinion one of the best wilco tracks ever.

  • Couldn't agree with you more, it's absolutely wonderful.

  • truly amazing

  • One of the great contemporary American rock bands. Jeff Tweedy is on the same plain as Paul Westerberg , in my eyes. Amazing songwriters that don't get the fan fair or credit they deserve.

  • Wow. I can't believe I just found out about these guys. I gotta get out of the studio more.

  • holy overmodulation...batman...ouch

  • yeah, the studio version has that same vibe but wow on this one...

  • could someone explain me what's this song about, please?

  • Wilco is the best rock band in the world right now.

  • affirmative

  • Indeed

  • En Sevilla los podremos ver el 29 de Mayo en Territorios Urbanos....yupiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

  • Nels Cline is a golden god.

  • Agreed. Nels is a badass.

  • oh my dear nels cline

  • this song is an eargasm

  • One of my favorite Wilco songs ever

  • lolololol ur shit live u dumbass

  • Oh my god, what a solo.

  • never tire of this lovely sound---so, so pretty.

  • That's some fancy picking there, the subtle control of volume, amongst other things, is more tricky that it seems.

  • This song was in an episode of the TV series, "Friday Night Lights".

  • amazing...

  • sweetest song.

  • definitely dream-like, dreamy sound.

    a slow day song.

    just lovely.

  • Incredible song. Incredible band.

I always lose myself in a kind of dream-like state from 2m32s till the blast at 3m57s; try it sometime- it's a sublime experience!! ;-)

  • Crowd friendly too!

  • at times, more so now.

  • amazing

  • That solo is amazing.

  • i concur

  • You are required to see this band live just once in your life before they or you are gone.

  • so so so so true

  • i concur with both of you

  • One of, it not the, best live band today.

  • I can't think of anybody else who puts on a better show

  • I haven't seen them live, but their live videos and recordings sound amazing.

  • If you're even a casual listener of Wilco, a live Wilco show will change your life. It's something you have to experience if you've even heard one Wilco song you like. It's an addiction.

  • your true

  • agreed

  • i d say radiohead.

  • this song is amazing, and with the addition of nels cline and pat sansone, this live version blows the recorded one away...btw i'm having trouble transcribing nel's run at 4:24, if someone can give it to me or the scale or something i'd be grateful :)

  • amazing song and band!! love ya wilco!

  • If you'd like to watch it in a higher quality

    try watch?v=8QSK6Jh47K4

  • love love

  • Anyone know what kind of piano Mikael is playing? (Not the Red one)

  • is playing a clavia nord electro

  • Splendid, thanks!

  • no no, not the red one

  • WOW! So close to the original studio take.

I love this song and i like it even more when Tweedy is playing it alone in solo, but this video is amazing!!

  • nels you are a god

  • wow

  • This video is from "Burn to Shine Vol. II: Chicago" DVD.

  • This is from a tv show...LOL...it's from A Ghost Is Born (Nonesuch,2004)

  • What is this from?

  • at first, i was like...? this isnt muzzle of bees..then, the video started, and i was amazed.

  • Crank is good too

  • nels cline is so good its just not natural

  • nelsnelsnels

  • Nels is so crazy

  • yeah nels...

  • your a fucking moron

  • uh, you meant "you're" right?

  • I won't correct your shit - I juat wanna know who you're talking to.

  • Nels Cline Is GOD

  • This is true.
