I've had maybe a dozen run ins with the cops in my life. I would say a good ten of them the cop was overly aggressive, and abusive in a situation where no law was being broken. The fact of the matter is a lot of kids are pushed towards crime by thugs with badges. They need to start giving courses in school on what your rights are, and exactly what a police officer is allowed to do. Because, since educating myself, it is no surprise police routinely circumvent laws. Educate yourselves.

NO TASERS for law enforcement. Only officers with advanced training and experience should be allowed to carry firearms. This will force law enforcement to develope their communication skills and their interactions with the public. It will stop them from working from an ego and power hungry position. They will have to work on a much different level if they do not have tasers and immediate access to firearms. They would be less bullying and it would also help their public image.

@Navo9 A Police officer can stop any car and get the drivers' details without an offence being committed. He can arrest the driver if he refuses his details, but not a passenger unless an offence has been committed.

This is not in real life, what he said about not answering question. I crossed the street on green light for pedestrian , officers came to me and grabbed my arm, asking question. I did not answer their questions, then they grabbed my purse and got my ID without my permission. I filed for grievance , took them to the court. In the court he (the tough one)declared proudly that he got a promotion, showing me how miserable an I by believing in justice system. they can do ANYTHING and go away with.
@woodyaan As I said, you have to expect to sit in a cell for a while if you want to exercise your rights. They can and will do anything they want but if you know how to exercise your rights and enforce them, you have to educate yourself so that you can get your commercial remedy after the fact. I think what we seem to be negating is the facts. First of all what is a Police Officer? In one context it is nothing more than a title and titles don't exist in the physical world, it's seems to be a word that elicits a response due to your cognitive perceptions that this word creates. I've had maybe a dozen run ins with the cops in my life. I would say a good ten of them the cop was overly aggressive, and abusive in a situation where no law was being broken. The fact of the matter is a lot of kids are pushed towards crime by thugs with badges. They need to start giving courses in school on what your rights are, and exactly what a police officer is allowed to do. Because, since educating myself, it is no surprise police routinely circumvent laws. Educate yourselves.

NO TASERS for law enforcement. Only officers with advanced training and experience should be allowed to carry firearms. This will force law enforcement to develope their communication skills and their interactions with the public. It will stop them from working from an ego and power hungry position. They will have to work on a much different level if they do not have tasers and immediate access to firearms. They would be less bullying and it would also help their public image.

They can and will do anything they want but if you know how to exercise your rights and enforce them, you have to educate yourself so that you can get your commercial remedy after the fact. I also don't like the word 'enemy', because it's too black and white. The system doesn't always work, but I wouldn't call it the enemy.
We created the system, and it's up to us to modify it to better help everyone. We need to inform ourselves so that we can do our part.

they HATE what the gov't has done to
the country.
Especially the older officers who remember. Police officers, (with exception
of the percentage of psychos in any organization) WANT to be liked and respected by citizens. They WANT to be
considered "Our City's Finest" like they
used to be.
My friend spoke to an officer the other day who said he was so frustrated at being hated he was considering suicide.

I have a problem with the edgy comments. If you ask a police officer on something which isnt fact but speculation they cant give an opinion as they are impartial to the government. They serve the law and anyone that breaks it is punished sometimes outlandishly. they have to be impartial and cannot hold an opinion or give it. If they did they could lose their job.. At the end of the day they are only human.

Well they are everyday people doing a job. Also you are the one who is being paranoid. They go for driving offences alot more because they happen a damn lot more than burglary and rape. And when either of the 2 happens if there is not sufficient proof to point a finger at someone then the case has to be closed. Accept without the police anarchy would occur and with the amount of chavs etc running loose you would want to lose all that this country built for itself? Appreciate what you have.

Well the reason there is more traffic offenses than burglaries and rapes is because virtually everything that you do while you are driving is considered an offense,ie stopping on a white line.Talking about appreciating my country?My Grandfather fought in the war for this country,he fought against tyranny and many great men like him fought so that we would not have to live in a nanny state.

I know that but they arent free to commit the crimes.. Police cant predict or tell you when they will strike only react to them striking. If there is no evidence they have to wait for them to strike again. Its simple logic to know this. This country is dead as far as im concerned. Im more worried about people losing national identity making it easy for them to commit crimes. You want to solve the problem, dont start on the police, bring in laws so tight they cant breath without permission.

Well Foz1990, I am not one bit happy with our so called"justice system".The police do not stop society from descending into Anarchy,the reason there is not anarchy is because people do not want to live in anarchy.Remember there are more citizens than there are police so a revolt bof any kind cannot be stopped.Just look at the L.A roits,the police did not stand a chance.

People believe the strangest things as facts.
One of my favourites is telling when someone is lying. They say they look up and left, but the truth is you look everywhere when telling the truth. Extended eye contact or none at all suggests lying. But dont take my word for it.

i was there when they brought in the criminal justice bill and i fought that, i will fight this, we need to group together and form an opposing force , mighty by our knowledge of our rights. Have a look online how many civil enforcement officers theyre recruiting.

I think you are far too gracious where the fairness of law enforcement is concerned. I'd give an estimate of 95% of cops are fascist pigs, whereas a minuscule 5% are there for the right reasons, and of that 5%, there are various levels of corruption geared towards fascism. all ur information is extremely helpful, but that's if the cops and court system of your town is just. in my town, this girl spat on the cops(a stupid move) what they did was they took her to an interrogation room, turned the camera's off, and beat the crap out of her. now she's trying to sue them, but of coarse, nothing is happening. Its already turned into a police state.

i think we use to pay there wages to protect us but now we just pay to pay off a huge national debt and they are hired to ensure that we dont question it using any means necessary .officer its just a light bulb il take it to the garage after work, no you will pay now, officer i enjoy smoking with a beer couldnt resist..so you will pay!!!.officer i dont have a driving licence couldnt afford it.,have you got a job? no ,okey we will take the car .now sod off and get a job like everyone else
