it was such a relief when micaiah could finally gain levels again. i was stuck at level 20 since 1-3 and still didn't use her much except to skill up.

Whoa How did you get her level to be 20 before the endgame of part 1 just out of curiosty

Chapter 1-3 is a "seize throne" stage, so you can screw around as much as you want before clearing the map.

So just get Micaiah down to 1 HP (using sacrifice), then set her down on the healhedge in the map. Then she can do a 1-hp Sacrifice every turn. Then let the enemy (archer) inflict damage on various characters and heal them 1 HP at a time. Every turn you will get 10 exp. Enjoy!

@ZeloBlake just use her to finish off enemies as much as you can and give her bonus exp, and use sacrifice if you want. I did't but it gives you 10 exp when you use it.
