  • 1:15 holy shit! cool! imo better than kyokushin :P but i prefere muay thai

  • If this system had head punches it would be a hell of alot better

  • @DeanPMA they practice face punch in practice. but it hurts even more to get kicked or kneed in the face. plus, thats embarassing!

  • Damn! 0:42 looks so awesome! Thanks for uploading this!

  • я видел там на 42 секунде тип бабу вырубил ногой в голову )

  • excellent compilation of KO's OSU!!!

for some of the anti TKD'ists, TKD is not B*S*T, there are some really good fighters school out there. Its just that most schools are set for "olympic" style training. ITF is continuous and although it is specified "semicontact" a lot of the "fights" are closer to knockdown karate bouts. I have an ex TKD fighter as one of my studenrts and he's got some awesome kicks!

  • what's the song name?

  • STupid muSic

  • nice!!

    awsome kick on 0:47!

  • STUPID MUSIC ,,,OKAY?

  • Nice style but why do they allow experienced fighters paired-up with novices ? Most knockouts of this clip seemed inevitable from the very first moments featured, just from the way each contestant was moving.

  • Where are the Knockouts ? I don't see no blood , no sleeping guys , nothing .

Who cares in the END ....

  • i study in go-kan-ryu, a traditional style mixed with kyokushin and i think Ashihara.

  • I don't really understand this style. In some parts it seems it's semi-contact, while in others is full contact. Also, I find it a bit slow as compared to taekwondo

  • bullshit kyokushin rules - seido kaikan tourneys can punch to the face full contact!!!

  • What's the name of the Song ?? and witch band ?

  • muay thay/kickbox better then this craphole.

  • Awesome video with an awesome song ! Is ashihara karate a branch of kyokushinkai karate or am I mistaking ?

  • @TheKorpiklaanifan yes it is a branch of kyokushinkai karate!

  • @theonewhosaidNO not a branch -_-

    an offspring yes, branch no

a branch would still have to refer to the main style, offsprings are free

  • WTF? Who sanctions this? No pads of any kind. Like street fighting? Too hardcore for me. More power to those who participate in these competitions.

  • absolute wank. i could do that shit at brown belt, id fuck them two over with my left hand.

  • a differnce to kyokushin?

  • i loved it!

  • any style can go on the street. but it depends on how well u practice to put it in good use

  • not a big fan of karate, I think that on the street a good boxer could easily defeat a karate guy!

  • haha never

  • GREAT FIGHTS!! GOOOD FIGHTERS!!!

  • It's fun because that kick the red belt made, haw i not lernt :(

  • mmmmmmmmmmmm

  • Did anyone find a single atom of SABAKI in the vid? The kumite is very much like original kyokushin. I can't find anything that distinguishes both 'styles'.

  • In kumite, it is very much straight ahead like Kyokushin. The circular movements is more for street situations.

  • @091188ruben catching and grabbing

  • Ashihara is so much better than anything else.

    No doubt!!!!

  • it is simple..in kyokushin and ashihara karate you can't punch in face but you can kick him where you want...in kyokushin you can punch everywhere except in head...

  • what s the difference between kyokushin karate and ashihara karate and shidokan karate, well shidokan is more like full contact karate right?but kyokushin and ashihara?do they have the same rules ??

  • i dont know about the rest but i know ashihara is full contact

  • Hard to describe everything in the short space allowed here, but simplified, the difference between shidokan rules and kyokushin rules is that shido uses a boxingring and allow a 3 second clinch -kyoku bans all grabbing and holding.

The difference between kyoku and ashihara is that ashihara allows some onehanded grabs and pullin (mostly as throws), but this is no longer allowed in kyokushin.

Otherwise both shidokan and kyokushin still use the rules they inherited from their kyokushin roots

  • in Shidokan bareknuckle fight there's also 5 second ground fight mostly for one pining technique after throw and undercuts which also were banned in kyokushin. Best Regards

  • Shidokan is a modern full style with arsenal of all techniques, it includes bareknuckle fight, kickboxing/muay thai strikes and grabs and submission/grappling/mma methods.

  • People who complain about space helmets or other protective taking away the "reality" of fighting because people don't get hurt are keyboard warriors.

When you wear protective gear you can fight hard more often without injuring yourself, which means you improve faster.

As far as competition goes, it's not pro-sports. If you want bareknuckle/4 oz glove face punches, then give them a pro's salary. This is meant to be practiced by regular ppl who have to show up to work on Monday.

  • Couldn't have said it better myself.

  • @maofas totally agree with you. I practice kudo daidojuku and w/o the space helmet, my face would often be a bloody mess

  • @maofas people complaining about the helmet never fought with one ^^

  • Ashihara Karate Denmark (: !!!!

    Osu!!!!

  • SÅ RIGTIGT!!

    Hvilken klub er du fra?

    Jeg er fra frederiksberg

  • Is this the same style ryu and ken use from street fighter?

  • No dude hahahaha!

I think Ryu and Ken's style is non existent. I've never seen a Karate style teaching Hadouken(its a freaking fireball) or Shoryuken movements. Taekwando has a very similar 720 Kick that looks like the spinning flying kick though.

  • Ryu himself was based on a Kyokushin fighter named Yoshiji Soeno, who travelled to Thailand to fight a guy named Reiba, the "Dark Lord of Muay Thai", who Sagat is based upon. Soeno later went on to be the founder of Shidokan Karate. I think that's what he meant.

  • Osu!!!!!

  • i also prectice ashihara i am currently at the yellow belt with 1 green stripe but i am the best at the "brazilian" shot (thats only how WE call it) its a fakey it looks like first you hit the oponent in the stomac with the leg and sudenly you change the shot in a mawashi so it goes in the head.

  • Is grabbing your opponents neck and hitting his face with your knees legal in ashihara?

  • yeah

  • Really, so how come in ashihara tournaments you don't see the clinch?

  • the clinch is very short and has to be dynamic.

you can grab the gi to pull off a move and you can only grab one side of the gi.

BS rules as far as I am concerned

  • That is why Shidokan knockdown rules are the best and shidokan is probably the best karate ever existed.

  • No Daido Juku is superior.

    SPACE HELMETS

  • But, the thing is that takes away sense of reality because they don't get hurt. In Shidokan they fight in bare knuckle knockdown rules, kickboxing rules, and mma rules.

  • groin shots are legal in Kudo=superior

lack of space helmets=lack of balls

  • Shidokan is more real than daido juku karate. Face it.

  • One word...

    SPACEHELMETS!!!1111!!1

    ...and legal groin shots

  • Let me analyze the styles. Daido Juku karate is with out doubt one of the best styles of karate. Almost everything is allowed. Elbows, headbutts, groin shots, takedowns, etcet. which means that the fighters train for real fighting. The thing is that the space helmets reduce the impact of strikes and protect the face from cuts, bruises, etcet. Which than means that the fighters are not afaid of getting hit in the face because they are protected. They also wear special cups if i'm correct.

  • That is why they also got kickboxing rules that are similar to Muay Thai. Everything is allowed except biting, scratching, elbows, groin shots, and rabbit punches.

This makes you get used to face punches. Than mma rules with no space helmets. Thus, it makes the karateka much more familiar with real fighting.

  • With all that protection it takes away realistic fighting. In real fights you are not going to be wearing a space helmet and a cup. In the other hand Shidokan karatekas practice in three settings. Bare knuckle knockdown rules, kickboxing rules and mma rules. In bare knuckle rules pulling your opponents head down is completely legal, takedowns and submissions are legal too. Bare knuckle fights create stamina and strenght, but punches to the head are not allowed.

  • oh fuck!!! 0:43

  • they suck at throwing punches...they punch like the dudes in street fight videos

  • I take it this is full contact but no punches to the face only knees? are elbows allowed , I have a non contact tourny coming up and I know it wont be like this but what am I to expect and is it as fast paced as this could someone give me some advice cheers

  • Knockdown karate allows kicks and knees to the head. Elbows are allowed, but counts as punches, and as such are not allowed to the head -only below the neck.

Cant help you with the non-contact tourney since you dont specify what rules they are under,. But it wont resemble knockdown karate (ashihara, kyokushin etc) much, since that is most definitely NOT "no-contact".

butr as a rule no-contact fights are a game of tag to see who hit first with a light touch -not very similar to knockdown at all

  • not really fair fights some a red belt vs a yellow belt / white belt?? having said that some of the white/ yellow belts were pretty good , I practice Karate but have done various martial arts I find Karate to be the most rewarding, Alot of technique goes into the moves.

  • i dont see any deffrince between this style and ordinary oyama style where is the famouse sabaki and its claimed effectiveness

  • har a lot of people don't really know how intesnse ITF can get :/

  • taekwondo is bullshit. Ive done Ashihara for a while and I can take my friend who has done taekwondo for just as long, out in a few seconds.

  • taekwondo is bullshit? it's just your friends that sucks

  • @SMBRANDT in general its the fighter not the style, there are enough tkd fighters who will kick your ass blindfolded but ashihara also

  • @SMBRANDT then it must depend on the fighter not the art.

  • @SMBRANDT that means u are better than ur friend..and ur sensei has taught u better than his has taught him...not that taekwondo isnt as good as ashihara ...though m not a big fan of taekwondo either...i practice karate

  • @soumyaaymous In all seriousness you cant just say taekwondo or ashihara though you have to specify because american ashihara vs american taekwondo is an instant down american ashihara hands down will win against american taekwondo everytime but the second you start changing it up it gets tricky my friend does original taekwondo and my american ashihara barely keeps up ive put him down and hes put me down hes done more than taekwondo too still it just depends on what your type your using

  • @SMBRANDT Two different arts, and not one is better than the other. You've failed in your Martial art training if your opinion is as you write. All in all, it all depends on the Martial Artist.

You should keep an open mind and don't judge - each and every style has it's weak sides and strong sides.

    - Practitioner of Aikikai Aikido and Ashihara Karate.

    Have a good day.

  • Kyokushin, Oyama Karate, Shidokan, Seido etc with the exception of the grabbibg rule, are all the same, "KARATE-DO" Thats a GOOD thing!! If we want the world wide acceptance enjoyed by Kendo or Judo, we have to shed this silly bickering among people who practice the same art!

  • it looks like kyokushin

  • R.I.P Ashihara Sensei.

  • no need bad music

    it BUDOU

    ok?

  • I just begun on this sport :) Ashihara Karate Denmark!

    Osu

  • how come the tall guy always knocks out the short guy, i wanna see a vid with the opposite.

  • look for kenji midori...

  • wer can i find a full contact tournament like this?

  • hahalol ur right, taekwondo knockouts is more entertaining, theez ones seem more like UFC knockout stuff!

  • taekwondo knockouts were better! Personally i like taekwondo because i practice it. But Kyukushin is cool too!

  • yeah i like that video too

  • Anyone who says that one style is better than other have no idea what they are talking about, styles are different, tae-kwon do is diferent from Ashihara, not better, not even by a bit, besides they fight so full or protection (head, chest, gloves, etc) that its amazing they even jave ko`s.

  • From what I have seen know, I must admit that I really like the Ashihara style. There is only one thing I wonder about: Why do these guys mostly have such a bad guard? They don't cover their faces (if some of them did, they wouldn't have got hit), they don't even cover their bodies, they just hold their arms somewhere on chest level. (similar to some Taekwondo styles) Bt excet of that: great thing, I wish I had an Ashihara Dojo around here..

  • they keep thier arms at chest level because they are forbiden to punch at face level so they lower their guard in order to protect the face unaware that they might get kicked at head level

  • the head kicks seem to be far more effective at KOing people. assuming most fights end with a KO or TKO, and not a point based decision (really i know little about this), wouldn't it be more prudent to have a higher guard for blocking kicks, take a few body hits (condition for it first), and kick the other guy who doesn't guard in the head? Eh, it may just be my ignorance showing...

  • @shinobu75

Actually it depends on what tournament your in. It is allowed in some :)

  • @OmegaReprise i know this was a old comment but if you try this type of full contact karate, you would understand

  • Really spectacular kicks, but continues being surprising for a punch in the thorax with a KO results...

  • Just looks like kyokushin knockdown with a different name!

  • funny cause i'm thinking the same thing as you and who the hell destroyed such a great song??

  • Nice vid

But someone knockout those idiots that murdered that motorhead song

  • hehe I do korean karate but kyokushin is really good to see!!:)

  • you should switch to the Japanese karate!

    osu!
