  • Kocerka already rowed 7.05 in 1955 or 1957...

  • unbelievable, my friend Savino Rebek in the 1x final, in Castelgandolfo where I won my first national race, medalled on this same pontoon!! O__O Savino is still rowing on our sea at his same old rowing club, a great humble champion!

  • When you see Ivanov rowing ; it goes so smoothly. Quick into the water and he made his boat running so well.

  • That is so awesome, and everyone was rowing Staempfli singles.

  • At the 1960 Olympics, Ivanov won a second time, again with a blistering sprint, defeating East Germany's Achim Hill by 6¼ seconds to claim his second gold medal. Poland's Teodor Kocerka won the bronze medal. Australia's Stuart Mackenzie who had been Ivanov's prime competitor in 1956 withdrew because of illness, spoiling a much anticipated matchup.
