let's talk play to win: Right now in EVE, asshats can cough up cash, buy Plex, sell it, and then buy an advanced character. The one thing that matters in EVE online is your character's SKILLS. Skills dictate what modules you can use to improve your ship, and how much you can improve the performance of any ship you jump into-

Then the same jerk sells plex to get faction modules (better than T2) and faction ships. then hunts new players because he doesn't know how to play.

That's the company line, anyway. But why should Eve players believe it? Why have such an in-depth debate over something you have no intentions to do? The players are right to be skeptical. Just last year they were given assurance by CCP that there would be NO microtransactions of any kind, vanity or otherwise. They've reneged on that promise. (And, given how short a time ago it was, odds are decent the MT were already in planning even when they were giving that assurance).

@thebigJ1er The playerbase of EVE should believe it because CCP has not made it a habit to lie in the past. They've always said that pay2win was out of the question. That's circular logic. According to what you just said, CCP is lying about their intent on microtransactions because they are liars, and they're liars because they're lying about not adding microtransactions. They've been openly stating for a long time that vanity microtransactions were likely in the future.

@Arkendi Actually, they up to recently said microtransactions, in any form, were out of the question. They lied. No circular logic. Hell, even as of right now they haven't definitively stated pay2win was off the table, which is why people keep getting angrier. In the statement yesterday mentioning bringing the CSM to Iceland they stated one very specific type of MT wouldn't happen. Conspicuously specific. Read the excellent summary of the situation on Eurogamer.

@N1KOD95 Actually, hisec station cannot be destroyed. Period. Likewise with all the monuments. Most of them can take damage, but even if you get it to 0% structure, it will not blow up.
