As always great stuff here bud. I am finally in my Level Design class. I have been a bad boy though and am spending more time creating a level than studying the same stuff again. LOL. I have actually been getting into Kismet and the Material Editor a lot more this go around. I did all my blocking stuff first and am just at the point where I am done with scripting within the next day or two of work. Then I will get to really work on the art a bit more. Can't wait for lighting my scene.
@danewheeler Yeah all of those are important skills. Each depends and compliments the other. Such as materials and lighting, If one goes wrong the other will suffer. Materials and kismet are two of my favorite things to do in unreal, once you get a hold of the basics the creativity unleashes. Best of luck in you're class! and thanks for the kind words.
@Tannz0rz Yeah, the main inspiration for me was just the overall shapes and sizes. The main challenge when creating this weapon was to re-use parts of the environments to make it. So I did very little modeling, mostly bash kit.

@anguswu3d
The effect is material based. The same effect is being used in my other video 'Polar Science Facility - Wip 04 :)

Did you get inspiration from kalashnikov variants?
Looks similar.

@dragonbreath6000 I did get some inspirations from custom AKs but my main references where GoW and other sci fi guns. :)

@dragonbreath6000 Dood, wat? The only similarity that is apparent is the magazine used...
