Let's see... the red and yellow means "What the", the ripples mean "heck, where did", and the waving upper tentacles mean "this giant light come from?"
octopuses are generally planktonic at birth, while some cuttlefish species are small, but not nearly as tiny as newborn octopus, at least as far as i know.
they need time for the melanosomes to mature, they do the colour change by dispersion or aggregation of a pigment cell inside melanophore and normally they dont have full control of this as a juvenile
this critter is mad cause they caught it with flashlights 'out of the closet'...
