Too bad most Aussie's are horrendously racist and rude. I used to live there; I know. The States aren't perfect and have issues too, but they're much better and over all the people are much nicer and rarely racist. In Australia it was really bad.

Nope, I did go to Sydney but mostly stayed in Perth. Of course people were horribly racist! I noticed that whoever was NOT a "fair skinned Caucasian" got treated differently, and almost always, badly. I had an Asian friend there, and they were so rude to her. A couple Indian friends of mine there got called names all the time, and were treated not-so-good either.

Once again, it's NOT a stereotype. My Uncle who is Italian and is a bit browner and everything, went to Australia and lived there in Melbourne for four years, he also said the exact same thing! They are laughing because in Australia the state of Tasmania is (unfairly) considered to be full of rednecks and inbreds and is treated by some other parts of the country as a bit of a joke. It's a little isolated but anyone who has actually been there has only great things to say about the place.
